Co-stars Sarah Michelle Gellar and Kristoffer Polaha have both played members of the Kennedy family in television movies. Gellar played the teenage Jacqueline Bouvier in the 1991 miniseries A Woman Named Jackie (1991), and Polaha played Bouvier's son, John F. Kennedy Jr., in 2003's America's Prince: The John F. Kennedy Jr. Story (2003).
The title credits utilize special effects in that the "N" in Ringer splits into two opposite pieces symbolizing the twin sisters that are often opposed to each other. The written credits that appear under the title are split but become one piece, symbolizing the sisters taking each other's place to appear as one person.
