Final assessment
Zenimax completed the strikeout with Fallout 76, Wolfenstein, and Redfall. Redfall, which was tainted by ZeniMax's greed, signaled the beginning of a qualitative decline in the triple A game market.
- None
Bad
- The enemy AI is so dumb it makes my iPhone's built-in Siri look smart.
- Optimization is so bad. Non-existent multi-core scheduling, low GPU utilization, excessive VRAM usage, etc. I've never seen a game in my life that had problems with both the CPU and GPU.
- The narrative is also the worst. Neither cinematic nor real-time cutscenes exist, the causality of the story is unconvincing, and the main characters, supporting characters, and villains are all unappealing.
- As a shooter game, this game was also bad. Sound, gun motion, details, etc., did not have elements that could be praised. This game makes Overwatch look like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019).

The game has some glaring flaws. Namely the AI is kinda dumb which is odd considering Dishonored and Prey. Otherwise, with this new 60FPS patch and the open world improvements this game is honestly a ton of fun. I waited till the patch dropped to seriously hop in, and I am having a blast.
Here are some positives
Negatives
One comment on a critique I heard a lot about this game. The slide show cutscenes... have you never played an Arkane game? All of them have that lol. Nothing new, suddenly its bad story telling when the game is exclusive to a console that doesn't have play and station in the name.... Just saying.
Here are some positives
- Amazing setting
- Atmospheric
- Great Gunplay
- Smooth 60FPS
- Sick art style and enemy design
- Clean UI
- easy on boarding
Negatives
- Enemy AI still
- shallow story (however, it is pulled back for the purpose of co-op and in game story telling much like Far Cry, play this game in co-op like it is meant to be played and you will see what I mean, so maybe not a negative?)

I bought this game at a great discount, so cheap I couldn't believe it, and shortly after I tested it out, I knew exactly why it came so cheap.
Very mediocre level design, absolutely twilight and barely serviceable missions, no characters, no story, at least I have been playing for 4 days or so now, and can confirm there's been nothing but running around from A to B and aimlessly shooting vampires or cultists.
If like myself you're a Dishonored fan, you'll end up disappointed even more. You'll get the impression this game was cobbled together in a month tops.
'What the hell, Arkane? This was supposed to become a breakthrough of a console exclusive for Xbox. How could you mess things up this bad?' Overall, the low rating for this game has nothing to do with technical issues, it's simply a dead space of a game and a mindless shooter and there's no way the recently released patches will make things worthwhile.
I actually got myself Xbox SX in addition to PS5 (Sony is my primary console) for Starfield and Redfall, and both games turned out utterly disappointing.
