Went to watch Join My Band at a private screening and really enjoyed it. The storyline was pretty simple, but it worked really well, for a sort of teenage Rom-com! The acting was great - really enjoyed seeing Jessie Buckley play one of the lead roles - and Steve's band mates were pretty funny! The music was REALLY good - loved the song that they played towards the end of the film! The whole harp theme seemed to work really well too - very quirky, but cool. I think its primarily for (and about) teenagers - but anyone will enjoy it. Visually, the film looked great - really bright colours and good costumes. Loved the hair and make up too. My only criticism was that the film seemed to finish too early - though maybe that could be viewed as a compliment! Any chance of a sequel???
