Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone universe has been going strong for the better part of the last decade. However, it isn’t until the prequel saga of the Duttons that the story picks up pace and moves a generation of viewers and critics alike into investing in the heartbreak and tragedy that follows this particular family of ranchers and cowboys.
1923 [Credit: Paramount+]
1923 brings a sense of foreboding and solitary trauma to the story of the Duttons that was seemingly lost in the Machiavellian politics, violence, and rivalry of Yellowstone. In the unadulterated climate of the era it depicts, Sheridan’s 1923 unapologetically displays tragedy and trauma against the stylish backdrop of Montana.
However, amid the blossoming romances and troubles plaguing the Yellowstone Dutton ranch, one dangerous question takes root in the show’s Season 2 storyline.

Selena Gomez Criticized Over Her Crying Video (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Selena Gomez grabbed several eyeballs after she shared a video of herself crying bitterly over US President Donald Trump’s policy of deporting illegal immigrants. The video spread like wildfire on social media even though she deleted it later and left the internet divided. Now, on her podcast, journalist and attorney Megyn Kelly took a dig at Gomez for the same.
Megyn Kelly was seen saying on her podcast that Selena Gomez has a lot of influence and power on social media because of her being an important public figure. However, Kelly added that a part of Selena’s audience did not relate to her crying over the US President’s immigrant policy. Talking about the ‘Calm Down’ singer, Megyn said, “She decides to go on Instagram and cry tears about all the illegal children, I guess, who might be subject to deportation.

Skydance’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger will produce alongside Ponciroli and his Hideout Pictures, Down Home and Cliff Roberts. Aimee Rivera will oversee the project for Skydance. Taylor Sheridan is one of the most prolific writers working in film and television today, with shows such as "Tulsa King," "Landman," "Lioness," and "Mayor of Kingstown" becoming hits on the small screen. His projects tend to be action-packed and full of drama, and they attract A-list names like Kevin Costner, Billy Bob Thornton, and Zoe Saldana. However, "Yellowstone" is his prize horse, and it's spawned a successful franchise that includes spin-offs like "1883" and "1923," with more on the way.
Sheridan deserves plenty of credit for his success, and the fact he's such a highly sought-after writer proves that he has talent. That said, there are lines of dialogue on "Yellowstone" that are straight-up cringe-inducing, albeit in a way that's quite entertaining and adds to the series' trashy, soap opera-esque qualities. Keeping that in mind, let's reminisce about some of the worst lines to make it from the script...

Julia Schlaepfer, who plays Alexandra Dutton in 1923 explains how the shocking royalty reveal at the end of season 1 will affect her character's journey in season 2, set to premiere on Paramount+ on February 23. Before the Yellowstone prequel wrapped season 1, it's revealed that Alex is the Countess of Sussex, a former member of the British Royal Family, when Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) is being thrown off the oceanliner, and she promises her new husband that she'll find him.
Schlaepfer talks to TVLine about how this shocking revelation will impact Alex's story arc in season 2. The star clarifies that Alex didn't intentionally hide her royal lineage in the show because "she doesn't want that title" or any connection to her royal family, and instead, she wants to "leave it behind." Schlaepfer further explains that Alex's commitment is with Spencer and "be a part of the Dutton family." Check out what she said below:

The Yellowstone spinoff 1923 ended season 1 in early 2023, and as a second season has been announced, details have been revealed or presumed about its release date, plot, and more. Part of Taylor Sheridan’s Dutton family franchise that began with Yellowstone's modern-day ranch story, 1923 is a prequel taking place in the titular year. It's also a sequel to the previous Yellowstone spinoff, 1883. This series stars Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren as Jacob and Cara Dutton, the heads of an earlier generation of Yellowstone's Dutton's in the time just before the Great Depression.
Like all the shows revolving around the sprawling Dutton family tree, 1923 was critically acclaimed, with a 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes. The series premiere even broke the record for a Paramount+ debut, drawing 7.4 million viewers. Taking Sheridan’s franchise down an even more grim storyline than what had come before, 1923 season 1 ends with tragedy, loss, and the possibility that the...

You don’t have to bow or anything, but just know that the next time you see 1923‘s Alex on screen, you will indeed be in the presence of British royalty.
A lot happened in the Yellowstone prequel’s Season 1 finale, so we woudn’t blame you if you’d missed a crucial exchange: When Spencer was being thrown off the oceanliner, he was told that Alex — who, unbeknownst to audiences all season, is the Countess of Sussex — would not be accompanying him because the Earl of Sussex doubted the validity of their marriage. Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone prequel series 1923 is slated to return with its second season next month. It follows the story of Spencer Dutton as he must race back to his home in Bozeman, Montana, while his ancestral land and family’s lives are threatened. The first season ended on a major cliffhanger and upped the stakes with the Dutton family’s very existence at risk.
Yellowstone spin-off 1923 returns with its second season soon (Credit: Paramount+).
As a result, when the sophomore outing arrives, fans must be expecting several characters to bite the dust given just how high the stakes are. While some characters are more likely to die than others, Sheridan could throw in a major twist by killing off one fan-favorite character who might just be more integral to the overall Dutton family saga than meets the eye.

Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone aired its series finale late last year without its lead star Kevin Costner. However, the story of the Duttons is far from over as several spinoffs seem to be in the works. While Sheridan was seemingly busy with his next Western Landman, he also reportedly worked on season 2 of the prequel series 1923, which is set to air in February.
The first season of the Harrison Ford starrer ended with the tease of an oncoming war on the Duttons’ ranch. Several deaths have been predicted by fans, including some major characters that have become fan favorites. However, one rumored death in the series is more heartbreaking than Costner’s in its flagship show.

Ridley Scott, the director of Blade Runner, revealed that he had to fight to get Harrison Ford cast in the 1982 sci-fi movie. This demonstrates that even big stars have faced skepticism from movie bosses. In a recent chat with GQ magazine, Scott talked about his challenges in getting Ford to join the film.
At that time, Ford had acted as Han Solo in “Star Wars,” but that didn’t persuade the people funding the movie. “Scott told GQ that Harrison Ford wasn’t a star then.” “He had just finished flying the Millennium Falcon in ‘Star Wars.'”
Scott remembered a straightforward discussion about the casting decision with his financiers. The director recalled, “I remember my financiers saying, ‘Who is Harrison Ford?'” He replied simply, “I said, ‘You’ll see.'”

Casting Ford as Rick Deckard, a hunter of artificial people called “replicants,” was a good decision. The movie...

Of all the spin-offs and prequel series Yellowstone has spawned, 1923 might as well be rated the best one to date, and its critical 90% score on Rt perfectly justifies that. To say the least, it gave the incredibly talented Aminah Nieves her chance to make her breakthrough in the entertainment industry as the Indigenous student cum prisoner Teonna Rainwater.

However, as much acclaim and fame as this life-changing role brought her, it was almost turned down by the actress in the first place. The reason behind it was rather understandable too, as she felt that the role and the weight it carried was a bit too heavy for her. But then one realization dawned on her at the perfect moment, not only saving her epic performance but her career as well.

If you’ve been living under rocks, you might have missed the seismic shift happening in Hollywood right now. It’s a shift fueled by one man—Taylor Sheridan. This guy is becoming Hollywood’s golden ticket, the key to drawing stars away from their traditional turf, whether it’s movie sets or the world of big-budget blockbusters. Just look at Harrison Ford!
Harrison Ford in 1923 | Credits: Paramount Network
The legend himself, a man synonymous with the thrill of high-flying adventures, gracing the small screen for his first major role ever in a TV series. And it’s only for Sheridan’s 1923—a prequel to the wildly successful Yellowstone. Now, why would Ford, the very definition of Hollywood royalty, trade the silver screen for the small screen? It’s not just the story. It’s the man behind it all.

1923 season 2 will be the end of the Yellowstone prequel, and here's what it means for Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone franchise. Premiering February 23 on Paramount+, 1923 season 2 continues the saga of Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) and Cara Dutton (Helen Mirren) defending their Montana ranch from adversaries keen on taking their land. Meanwhile, Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar) hurries home from Africa to help his family wage war, despite being separated from his new English bride, Alexandra (Julia Schlaepfer).
Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan's present-day-set neo-Western starring Kevin Costner as John Dutton III, became one of the biggest shows on television throughout its five seasons on the Paramount Network. Yellowstone's success spawned a franchise detailing the history of the Dutton clan in Montana, starting with the prequel 1883, which streamed on Paramount+ for one season. 1923 picks up the Duttons' story 40 years later. Yellowstone also sparked a growing franchise of TV shows on Paramount+ executive produced by Taylor Sheridan,...

The upcoming second season of Taylor Sheridan's 1923 might see Alex (Julia Schlaepfer) and Spencer Dutton (Brandon Sklenar) facing a major life change. Set against the backdrop of the early 20th century, 1923 chronicles the Dutton family’s efforts to preserve their Montana ranch amid devastating personal struggles, wealthy businessmen, and thieves. As the newlywed couple fight to reunite back in Montana, questions linger about whether Alex could be pregnant following her bouts of seasickness during their tumultuous boat journey. 1923 season 2 is set to premiere on February 23, 2025.
In an interview with TVLine, Schlaepfer and Sklenar shared their thoughts on the possibility of Alex expecting a child and how their characters might react to such news. While their answers leave much to speculate, they tease the potential challenges the couple could face if parenthood is on the horizon. There is no doubt about Spencer’s love for Alex and his desire...

Some critics argue that "Yellowstone" lost its way as the series progressed. Others believe that creator Taylor Sheridan ruined "Yellowstone" season 5 when he gave his character, Travis Wheatley, a more prominent on-screen role and partied with supermodels because why not? However, some people are of the opinion that "Yellowstone" was a bad show from the outset, claiming that it lacks a focused story and plot. Sheridan addressed those naysayers in a 2023 interview with The Hollywood Reporter and explained his mindset in regard to the show's storytelling.
"It has no plot, really. [...] Don't take my land, I want your land. In that, I have a lot of opportunities to poke fun, but also kind of point out different points of views, and kind of really study a way of life and a world. There's a lot of defiance in the way I do it."

Taylor Sheridan arguably ruined "Yellowstone" in season 5, but the prolific showrunner is still delivering hit TV shows and securing future projects that will hopefully make fans forget about his worst creative moments. Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are scheduled to return for a "Yellowstone" spin-off, while "The Madison," "6666," and "1923" season 2 will further expand the hit neo-Western franchise's universe. However, Sheridan has another successful show on Paramount+ that will appeal to fans of his brand of dramatic storytelling — even though it's more concerned with oil workers than cowboys.
"Landman" stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, a fixer for an oil company who must juggle his busy job with raising a teenage daughter and being in an on-again, off-again romance with his ex-wife. A typical day in the life of Norris will see him interact with some undesirable people, most of whom he likes more than his daughter's jock boyfriends.

After five buzzy, immensely popular seasons of television, Taylor Sheridan's "Yellowstone" has finally galloped off into the sunset. Fans know this is far from the end of the franchise, though; the prequel series "1923," starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, will return for its second and final season in February 2025, while the spinoffs "1944," "The Madison" (with Michelle Pfeiffer and Matthew Fox), an untitled continuation of the Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) storyline, and probably "6666" are en route. "Yellowstone," for better or worse, is going nowhere.
One person who's unlikely to ever set foot on the ranch again is Kevin Costner, the star whose John Dutton III was the driving force of the original series. Costner and Sheridan's happy creative marriage hit the rocks hard when the duo couldn't work out how the former would be able to shoot his Western movie epic "Horizon: An American Saga...

"Yellowstone" season 5 is over, and with its final episode, the main flagship series appears to have rode off into the sunset for good. The franchise will continue with spin-offs like "1923," "The Madison," "6666," and more, so fans can look forward to more series set in Taylor Sheridan's cowboy-loving universe. At the same time, the end of "Yellowstone" has left us with burning questions that still need to be answered.
Of course, no one who watches "Yellowstone" is too concerned about plot holes. Viewers learned to accept them in season 1 after Kayce Dutton (Luke Grimes) dug up some dinosaur bones and the show led us to believe that people might come to try and claim them, only to never revisit the story. In some ways, "Yellowstone" is charming for its tendency to forget about certain plots while unloading more outlandish drama at us, and that's fine.

Helen Mirren, Harrison Ford, and Brandon Sklenar will return to 1923 Season 2. Paramount+ released the trailer of the Yellowstone prequel right after the final episode of the original series aired last Sunday. While fans weren’t too happy with what Taylor Sheridan did with the Yellowstone finale, they expect him to deliver a satisfactory second and presumably final season to 1923.

However, one fan theory suggests that Sheridan is bound to ruin the second season by sidelining one character. Fans expect the second season to bring Sklenar’s Spencer Dutton back to Montana and unleash his fury upon the enemies of the ranch. However, the fan theory suggests that he wouldn’t be able to do so due to one potential storyline.

The audience for “Landman” is only getting bigger. The Taylor Sheridan drama starring Billy Bob Thornton was seen by 14.9 million households globally in its first four weeks, according to internal metrics for Paramount+.
This number cements “Landman” as the most-watched Paramount+ original of all time. MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, which are behind the series, are now responsible for the five most-watched originals on the streamer. While “Landman” takes the first place spot, it’s followed by “1923,” “Tulsa King,” “Lioness” and “1883.” All five of these dramas come from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan, and two of them are set in the “Yellowstone” universe.
It was already known that “Landman” was performing well. The series’ premiere drew in 5.2 million viewers, making it the biggest Paramount+ premiere in two years.

Yes, Michelle Randolph Has Seen the ‘Landman’ Scene You Are Sharing Everywhere: ‘How Could You Not?’

Michelle Randolph is now a veteran of the Taylor Sheridan-verse.
The young actress first appeared in “1923,” the phenomenally popular “Yellowstone” prequel that premiered back in 2022. She played Liz Strafford, soon Dutton, the fiancée of Jack Dutton (Darren Mann) and the possible grandmother of John Dutton (Kevin Costner) on the flagship series. (Randolph swears she still doesn’t know.)
She now stars a completely different character for the prolific showrunner as Ainsley, the bratty daughter of Billy Bob Thornton and Ali Larter on “Landman,” the Paramount+ drama based on a Texas Monthly podcast “Boomtown” about the state’s volatile oil business. The characters, besides a certain flintiness, couldn’t be further apart.
Randolph said that she first heard rumblings about “Landman” when they were shooting the first season of “1923” (it returns for Season 2 in February). She had assumed there was no way that she could do “Landman” because, as originally planned,...

Fresh off the conclusion (maybe?) of “Yellowstone,” another Taylor Sheridan show just got renewed. “Mayor of Kingstown” will return for Season 4, Paramount+ announced on Wednesday, ensuring that Jeremy Renner’s Mike McLusky will be back.
Sheridan co-created the drama series with Hugh Dillon, and the third season ranked as the No. 1 series on Paramount+ throughout its run.
In Season 3, a series of explosions rocked Kingstown and its citizens, as a new face of the Russian mob set up shop in the city, and a drug war raged inside and outside prison walls. The pressure was on Mike McLusky to end the war but things got complicated when a familiar face from his incarcerated past threatened to undermine the Mayor’s attempts to keep the peace among all factions.
Renner returned to “Mayor of Kingstown” for Season 3 following his near-fatal snowplow accident in 2023.

Yellowstone's series finale has set a new viewership record for the popular Taylor Sheridan show. First airing in 2018, the Paramount neo-Western series chronicles the lives of the Dutton family as they attempt to retain control of their ranch in Montana. After five popular seasons – and a great deal of drama involving John Dutton actor Kevin Coster, who did not return for season 5, part 2 – the Yellowstone series finale brought the show to a close on Sunday, December 15.
The Wrap now reports that Yellowstone went out on a high note, with the series finale drawing 11.4 million viewers. This makes it the most-watched episode in the show's history. As for how season 5, part 2, compared to part 1, the new episodes were up by 4% overall, according to data from VideoAmp. The second half of season 5 also had the biggest international premiere in Paramount+'s history, with 21 million U.S. viewers watching the premiere over...

Yellowstone, the long-running drama about the Dutton ranching family, came to an end the other night with its season 5 finale, "Life Is A Promise." The series has been a huge hit for the Paramount Network, spawning multiple spinoffs. But the final season hasn't been received as warmly as past seasons by fans, whether because they think the writing has degraded or because star Kevin Costner stepped away from the series, necessitating several story pivots. Maybe both.
But how are fans receiving the series finale? At the moment, the narrative is that they aren't taking it too well. "Dumb ending #Yellowstone #YellowstoneTV," one fan wrote, per The Express. "That was probably the worst final season in television history," wrote another. You get the idea.
One person compared the ending of Yellowstone to the ending of Game of Thrones, which had a famously huge backlash among fans: “It is official. Game of Thrones...

This review was originally published on December 23, 2022, concurrent with the episode’s airing on Paramount+.
More things happened on 1923 Season 1 Episode 2. If that doesn’t sound like a rousing endorsement, that’s because it’s not.
The series is still all over the place, and other than introducing a new generation of Duttons just to introduce them, it feels aimless and unsure of its direction.
It’s possible there are too many characters and diverse plots for 1923 to be a success.
(Emerson Miller/Paramount+)
So far, what we’ve learned is where all of what Yellowstone’s John Dutton lives by, and it comes directly from Jacob. It’s possible the same lessons were bandied about on 1883, but since there was a solid plan to get the Duttons to Montana, it landed differently.
The hour picked up right after Jack found the sheep on the other side of the mountain,...
