Sex & Nudity

  • Throughout the series, Martin is normally seen without a shirt, (not in a sexual way) but this is because he is apparently 'bloody boiling'.
  • In one episode, Adam's butt is visible but only for a few seconds, not sexualised.
  • Jonny keeps on giving Adam a wedgie, and later in the episode, the pyjamas bottoms rip, showing Adam's bum.
  • There is a scene in an episode where Jim where's a fake penis, and then another character plays with it
  • Val often wears low cut revealing shirts.
  • In most episodes there are a fair amount of sexual references, and in one episode there is a reference to molestation. The sex references are not strong, and are instead fairly moderate. Occasional references to sexual acts throughout the series.

Violence & Gore

  • A dead crow is shown on screen for a few seconds
  • In "Buggy", Martin sneezes on the lawnmower, and the lawnmower blows up Buggy. May upset some users.
  • Man gets spanked on the bottom by Mum's friend. Not off-putting, played for laughs.
  • Jonny hits Adam with a jammed pickle jar, causing Adam to have a nose bleed.

Profanity

  • "Shit" is said in every episode, as shown by Martin (Paul Ritter)'s main quote: "Shit on it".
  • Martin often uses the word "bugger", and in one episode, he uses a puppet that often says "bugger"-related phrases.
  • Adam and Jonny call each other "Pissface" and "Pusface" as nicknames for each other very frequently.
  • Rare uses of the F word.
  • Words like "Bleeding", "Cock", "Humping", "Dick", "Wanker", "Bitch", "Piss", "Tits", "Asshole", "Twat" and "Sod" are said occasionally.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Characters occasionally go to pubs and order pints of lager .
  • In a few episodes, Jackie drinks gin when she gets stressed or annoyed. She is not an alcoholic as this is infrequent.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • There is an episode about a funeral, which may be upsetting to some viewers.
  • A dog eats a dead body. Only for laughs.
  • One or two of the season finales have upsetting or emotional moments.
  • Jim spills waste from a toilet bowl on the Goodman's dining room floor, this is made for comical reasons.
  • There are some unexpected deaths in this show.

  • Jim's pet dog "Wilson" dies, which is fairly upsetting
  • In one particular episode an elderly side character dies of a heart attack, the event is played for laughs but is a shock to the viewers.
