Misandry on parade
If you want to see someone stab a man in the back and chain another and hook another, even though he is "supposed to be" a "replicant" or a robot, this is the film for you. The writer/director/producer and every other contributor to this utter piece of trash buys into the notion that the gender roles should be females are all powerful (like an assassin or the police chief has to be female) and males should be reduced to the level of robots/order takers designed to serve female desires for any type of sexual perversion (even the female holograph tells the man when she wants sex), blood lust, and subjugation of others. I watched this overlong, tedious, and boring film for about 2.5 hour (it runs for almost 3) and decided that I have much better ways to spend my time than this misandrist trash.

Trivia

All the scenes in K's apartment were shot in a mist-filled studio for four weeks, to give the impression of a foggy view out of the window. This impacted electronic equipment and K's apartment had to be air conditioned to bring humidity levels down.

Quotes

'K': I hope you don't mind me taking the liberty. I was careful not to drag in... any dirt.

Goofs

When Luv takes K to the room where the data files are stored, the heavy door jams about half way when opening. She then uses physical strength to open it with her hands (with no apparent effort), but she is wearing elegant shoes with heels on a slippery floor. It would be physically impossible for her to apply enough force on the heavy door to open it without having a good grip on the ground, regardless of her superhuman strength. She would normally slide away when trying. This being 2049, with advances in technology prompted by decades of litigation and compensation ; we can safely presume that such shoes have a means to "grip" at least artificial floors. That would be a trivial technical problem, compared to other portrayed technology : hover-cars, holograms that can see, instant showers, off-world travel, replicants etc. etc.

Crazy Credits

There are no opening credits, and the title proper is not shown until the ending credits.

Alternate Versions

The film's IMAX release presented the film open-matte, at an aspect ratio of 1.90:1, meaning there was more picture information visible in the top and bottom of the frame than in normal theaters and on home video.
