My 5 year old daughter loved Pinecone & Pony but the best part is that I really enjoyed it to. Great messaging but in a funny, smart tone. A nice reprieve from other cartoons that I am cannot enjoy.
Hey folks, if you don't recognize Pinecone and Pony, that just means you get to find the book that started it all.
Based on Beaton's "The Princess and and The Pony" story book, this series expands on brave Pinecone and her stalwart yet rotund Pony sidekick. Endearing and cozy, these two and their friends and family have adventures and fun. Expressive eyes and occasional flatulence are present of course, as well as vivid image-work and heartfelt writing. You can see that those involved love what they do, and loved making this.
If you have kids, big or little, this is something to share with them, because you'll all enjoy it.

This show is adorable! The style is super cute and my nephews had so much fun watching it, highly recommend it for toddlers and small children when it's their for peaceful entertainment!
It does the book justice, which is seriously saying something. My child adores it and so do My wife and I.
The characters are fun and easy to fall in love with.

The show is great over all. Lots of cute and hilarious moments and funny characters. However this show like many coming out in this era seek to make most of the male characters dummies (including Pinecone's father, the king) Homer Simpson-esque. A rather useless man. I have no issues with strong female roles. It's just a shame the creator and writers feel that means the males then must became useless rather than have them be equals.
Another thing to mention, although it's rated G, there are trans characters (or at least purposefully designed androgynous characters) which is just something to be aware of if you planned on having that sort of conversation about sex/gender with your child before they are exposed to that from a cartoon for 5-6 year olds. There's also depictions of single parents as well as gay couples. This is pretty standard in cartoons today but still something to consider when very young kids will be watching this. I feel the goal is clearly to normalize these things to kids before they even have a fighting chance to learn about the basics.
Its just a shame more parents either dont know or dont care that cartoons are being used more and more to preach to kids under the radar. Tv execs want to teach kids complex algebra formulas before theyve had a chance to learn basic addition and subtraction when it comes to these relationship lessons.
Again, its a funny show. But it injects a lot of social and political points if view not every parent may appreciate.
