The series is based on court cases and how well they are executed

The makers have created a court room drama in each episode with different cases ..the cases are like water issues ,app issues, ivf issues, suicidal issues , murder for gaming purpose issues, songs patent issues and other this kind of issues were interestingly portrayed with facts in the court room.the direction is well and the pace of the series is also reasonable..along with court room stories the makers have presented other elements like love stories ,family rage ,friendships,rivalry...Shriya and Varun have acted very well ..both the stars and along with others

The boring part is that the series is too long and at a time you feel stuck with court cases and gets difficult to binge

The series will make your weekend interesting.
  • Indian movies and shows, from its feel, characters behavior, body language, dialogues, story, look, cinematography, and other minor and major things should always be localized and Indianized, rather than imitating flashy American content, whether it's a realistic movie or show, or commercial; some inspiration is fine, and of course the storytelling, production, writing, direction, acting, originality should always be of very very high quality.
  • This is one of the best courtroom drama shows that i have ever seen. The performances of the the whole team is outstanding. At one scene two of the protagonists discussing a case and male counterpart says that there is nothing like white and black outright. There are Greys. This very well sets the mood of the series. I really enjoyed this show.
  • We now officially have a genuine legal drama in Guilty Minds. Prime Video India's latest series focuses on the cases argued by lawyers based in Delhi with each episode focusing on a different case.

Kashaf (Shriya) & Deepak (Varun) have known each other from their law school days. Present day, Kashaf is running a small firm along with her friend, Vandana. Varun is a partner at Khanna & Associates, a reputed law firm. The overarching theme/plot focuses on Kashaf's father; Justice Quaze's defamation and Khanna's biggest client; Bhalla.

Guilty Minds is an engaging legal drama. It has its usual mix of relationships, the accompanying barage of emotions and so on. But the cases shown in each episode address important issues/relevant themes. Like the Blue Whale Challenge, viability of driverless cars, farmers running short of water, #metoo among others.

Shriya Pilgaonkar, who plays Kashaf is the star of the show. She is righteous & the allegations against her father shake her life. Varun Mitra as Deepak is excellent as Kashaf's closest friend. Other standouts include #sugandhagarg (Vandana) & Namrata Sheth (Shubhangi).

Guilty Minds is one of the best Indian shows we have got in a while. It manages to tackle relevant topics in what is an accurate depiction of the Indian judicial setting.
  • This Web Series Did Very Good Performance. Specially Shriya Pilgaonkar & Varun Mitra & Sugandha Garg & Namrata Seth & Diksha Juneja & Kulbhushan Kharbanda & Deepak Kalra and Other All Cast are Did his/her Best Acting.
  • I'm very confused whether I shall suggest this show to anyone or not. I'll why you the reason why I think I shall and otherwise.

Reasons in Favor: 1. This show shows a grey shade for everyone. No one is completely black or white and the story, direction and acting will make you feel bad for both sides in almost all the cases.

    2. They way they portraited the courts and the arguments was real good. They showed what exactly happens in a court.

    3. The terms like 'My Learned Friend', 'Mere Kabil Dost', "Lordship', 'Honorable Court' and many more are used appropriately.

Reasons in Against: 1. It features different stories in different episodes with a story going on in the background about the main leads, which made me a little uncomfortable as both the stories do not relate with each other. I really felt that it'll be like Made in Heaven by Zoya Akhtar, where the background stories of main character and the stories of new characters in each episodes were somewhere similar, which advances the main story.

    2. After watching the entire story I couldn't recollect the story as a whole and that's why not able to connect with it properly.

For the above reason, I'll, give an overall rating of 6 stars to the movie for the performance of all the actors in the series and there is no doubt about the acting skills of the actors.
  • I wonder why the ratings are so down for this show.. It is not perfect but definitely one of the better shows I have seen lately.. The intent and heart of the makers is spot on.. The cast is great and delivers what is promised, in fact more than that. Thoroughly enjoyed..Wouldn't have mind 10 more episodes...Please come back with a better season 2.
  • Anwar Says: Courtroom Drama has been a favourite subject of Bollywood directors and this time it is being presented by one of the most famous lawyer family, Shanti and Prashant Bhushan, member Shefali Bhushan. Normally courtrooms theatrics overpower the script but here nothing has gone overboard.

Questions raised in each episode are pertinent and contemporary and not preachy. Three college friends , two of them pro-bono lawyers and third a high profile are not only confined to Delhi court cases but travel through out for some high profile cases . Each episode has a new case but the story of main characters are running simultaneously.

Shriya Pilgaonkar has already proved her caliber on OTT , Varun Mitra looked suave as hotshot lawyer. Though in some of the cases the lustre of the drama is missing but the realistic presentation, particularly the choice of judges and set of courtroom and the pinching dialogues encourages you to go for next episode. Watch it in parts , 3.5/5 from me.

Different series away from usual crime, bloodshed or political negativities. Legal drama could have been slipped into boring fiesco if subject had not been given a realstic treatment with changing cases.

Shefali took work from all the deptts very well and proved herselfvas focussed director.

All Young actors performed exceedingly well and could not be overshadowed by the presence of veterans.

Shreya,Varun and Pranay Pachauri need specific mention and are not found guilty of any kind of over or underperformance, balanced themselves well. Promising Pranay with strong screen presence, performance and good looks may prove a strong contender in Bollywood very soon.

    Overall ,a must watch.
  • The show wasn't bad .. but I was left a little underwhelmed! It had so much potential .. after watching all the court room dramas like .. Boston legal .. Suits etc .
  • Very Good Series About Court Room Drama

Bring For The Dark And Gritty World Of Law

    Series Start An Important Conversation....

    It's Relevant And Juicy

    Worth Too ! Watch......
  • I liked the show for its raw and honest portrayal of the courtroom, the enormous effort in set design and extent of research done for the storyline (which is more than most Indian TV/movie content!). The first episode was peppered with bad acting and odd events but the show picks up after the second episode. Also, the lighting in the show/post-processing made the show unnecessarily dark and difficult to enjoy visually. I have noticed this with other Prime shows too - this might just be a coincidence but it is unpleasant nonetheless!

I would've liked it better if the story was better visualized - a little more detailed and the episodes were longer.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Firstly story line is very Good as well all the cast did fav job but somehow the lack of connectivity between the leads will make you angry for sure... Lead actress Struggling in each and every episode which is very unacceptable as a viewer.

Strong point is that somehow this is engaging but lengthy too, I blv it could have been completed in max 7-8 episode..

    10/10
    Amazing
The episode is very interesting.and the beginning is very good and the characters are too good.i am gonna start off by saying that I have never seen the original Danish movie and I know that a lot of people are hating on this remake because of how much they enjoyed/loved the original and from experience with remakes I can understand why, personally tho I never even heard of "The Guilty"
  • Loved this show for it's different take on court room drama which goes beyond just cases and actually encompasses characters ark beautifully throughout the series. Acting is top notch. Shriya Pilgoankar is simply brilliant. This show is big on emotions and ideas which is great.

While some of the legal issues raised are interesting - the overall feel is of a high school play. Actors look like they're acting. Exposition is childish. Things are added just to appear cool and modern. Character development is weak. You don't really care about any of them. Standard 'rich Delhi' set tropes (golf, jogging in the park, Hindi abuses).

There was another show that had a similar episodic structure - Made in Heaven. Much better. You actually cared about the characters and they felt real.
  • Web series review: Guilty Minds streaming on Prime Video #sanjuzzreviews #guiltyminds #GuiltyMindsOnPrime Directed by Shefali Bhushan, Guilty Minds is a gripping legal drama which gives a realistic view of the happenings in the Indian judicial system.

Protagonists Shriya Pilgaonkar ( Kashaf) and her friend Varun Mitra( Deepak) fight on opposite sides in the courtroom. The former is high on morals while the latter fights cases with the sole aim of winning for his clients at all costs.

Some interesting cases have been showcased where technology is involved like copyright infringement in the music industry due to software developed by a genius, a dangerous game that makes addicted users commit dangerous acts in real life and a dating app that uses bots to entice unsuspecting users and enhance their subscription numbers. Sexual harassment in bollywood, Sex determination malpractices etc are some of the other cases which have been realistically portrayed.

The casting is bang on, Shriya and Varun are awesome and their onscreen chemistry rocks . Others actors like Satish Kaushik, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Benjamin Gilani ,Namrata Sheth, Sugandha Garg have also played their parts well.

The cases are interesting and the courts, for once have been shown the way they are in real life. All credit to the makers.

This is a 10 part series with each episode having an average runtime of around 50 mins ( one case per episode). A tad bit long!! If you discount this, the series is definitely a bingewatch-worthy option for the weekend.

    Highly recommended by me!!

    4/5 for this one ... Adios!! 🙂
  • GUILTY MINDS has two angles, one, that each episode focuses on a different case being fought at the court and two, the personal life angles.

The first angle is terrific. 9 episodes showcasing some 9 really closely fought cases with the judgement going in an unpredictable direction making sure this is a more realistic depiction of courtroom dramas than the mainstream ones where anyone can predict the judgement. Some of my favorites would be the Ehno case, the Finisher case and the Aalaap case, which imo were really difficult ones and the decision could go on either side. It is shot in a very intriguing way making you completely invested in the courtroom sequences. The 10th case however, is the case that runs throughout the series and is stretched to the very end and i didnt find it too engaging.

The 2nd aspect is what brings down this series, the personal life angle, the romantic angles , the Kashaf's past angle all these were totally speedbreakers in the intriguing cases. The series should have focused completely on the cases rather than include these romantic angles in between that make the series a really long one (each episode is 48 mins on an average).

Everyone from Varun Mitra to Shriya have done a good job. That girl who plays Shubhangi is cute and i have a crush on her.

Overall, a good watch. But could have been a 20 times better if the personal life angles were not included.
  • Its a amazing legal drama. I can frankly compare this with suits ......thankx for this binge worthy. Ms. Shefali Bhusan please dont stop lets make 5 season atleast. Lovely.
  • This series is for those who love courtroom drama and also for those who want to watch something different !!!

This is a courtroom drama based Indian web series available on Amazon prime video with Shriya Pilgaonkar, Varun Mitra, Namrata Seth and Sugandha Garg in major roles.

Each of its 10 episodes comes up with a different case and will keep you engaged with really thoughtful and realistic issues and personally I feel this is the best part of this series.

Talking of the performances, the choice of actors is really really good and promising for future seasons to follow.

You will watch the legal battles most of the times but the personal lives of the lawyers is also seen in between which I could not really connect with much. The whole time, I just wanted to skip to the good part ( the case ) and this was a Not so impressive part of the show.

So, it is definitely a one-time-watch with its own pros and cons. With good response from most of the viewers and owing to some good content and performances of various actors, the season to follow could actually be way better !!!
  • Through I'm not from law background I still enjoyed this series. Perfect combination of love, family, crime. Story starts with a slow pace but soon it will drag u to watch entire series. Waiting for next season. Loved shriya and Deepak's performance.
  • I loved the series for its representation of courtrooms which are not always as shown by the traditional movies and series. This series has broken that stereotype.

I found acting of both the lead actors is not up to the par. Its just okay acting. The stories and cases for all the episodes was very interesting ti watch.

Like usual Indian writers dont find their way to break the rich family guy and girl thing. Nobody is from middle class everyone is from rich family. Not relatable. :(
  • Not too good, and probably not too bad, but I am not able to connect. Actually, it's just way too much unrealistic. Legal court room drama, different story each episode but life of characters shown is very unrealistic. Looks very western, none of them have any touch with Indian lifestyle or culture. Looks very American or European. Someone's ordinary friend, a supporting cast in positive role is on drugs, all men-women smoking and drinking, lip lock kissing in open, huge legal firm fighting cases in civil court. Even a lawyer in civil court not able to speak Hindi properly, why she couldn't try to speak in English? Or why there was not a Hindi speaking lawyer Either way? Why you had such a character? Then, Pseudo-feminism, pseudo-communism in few scenes, Then cases like Murder done by a 19 yr old, due to game addiction, rape case of an actress based on Tweet, makes us recall metoo movement and so on. Affection towards soc**p**hic characters. Victims or perpetrators are also such characters that will not drag your attention towards them. There is a lack of feeling or can say emotion of being Indian in this show. Which it should have had because it was a court room drama.

The story with many small episodes and an underlying build of relationships with a back drop of the legal world. It kept the momentum and suspense going even if one decided not to binge watch, a perfect foundation for a season 2. All characters are well portrayed and very good acting by all. It's so nice to see talent of these young, new budding actors being tapped so well.

    Highly recommend watching it.
  • Great storyline for each episode. Highly recommended. The main leads especially Shriya has done a stellar job. Each episode is super gripping and keeps you engaged until the end.

A must watch and great to binge on over a Sunday.
