Couldn't even complete it, one of the most disappointing games 'I've played
First of all, I have never been a huge fan of the Witcher, I had never took any interest in it, until I played the Witcher 3, and that game is amazing. It was everything an RPG game should be. However I was often confused because I had never played the previous installments. So for the first time years after its release, I decided to play The Witcher 2.... I hated it. I wanted so much to enjoy this, because I liked the 3rd so much, I wanted to understand the characters more, how they got where they were, and who they were, and why Geralt knew them.
The first chapter was enjoyable, despite my extreme frustrating at the DISGUSTINGLY bad map designs. Like seriously, who the hell designed those maps? I spent more time trying to figure out where the heck I was going, that I often just stopped playing for days. But as the game went on, I got more and more bored. It isn't compelling, the quests are dreary, and I found myself nearly falling asleep watching cutscenes. I got roughly 10 hours or so into the game and just gave up. It has everything I hate in a game, stupid and pointless puzzles, frustrating go here and do that quests. I can understand why this game is considered a classic, I mean the game's graphics were clearly ahead of time, but this game just wasn't for me, even more so when the much superior Witcher 3 is out there. I'm just going to have to do some reading to better understand the characters before going back to the 3rd, because I'll never play this one again.
