| Easy to digest.
Let's start with a quote from the show's writer: "I just wanted to write something to make myself laugh. I didn't write anything with the intention of doing a show, selling a show, doing a pilot. I wanted to write a longer-form thing, and I sat down and thought of some funny things that had happened to me in my life, and I started writing".

This is exactly what the show is. It's not meant to surprise anyone, it's not meant to make any hard-hitting points or actually change people. I watch this show every once in a while when I really don't have anything to do, and its simple comedy relaxes me and even makes me laugh.

I won't deny the acting isn't the best (JK Simmons excluded, but that man's a god) and neither is the writing. But I think what the show lacks in professionalism actually makes it be more light-hearted and easy to digest, something we all need sometimes.
