  • This episode killed me. There were so many jokes within jokes I was having trouble catching my breath. Every encounter Paul Downs had with the HR lady just slayed me, like milk out my nose levels of comedy. Bless this show.

Jean Smart is heavenly. She's so great in this episode - as always- and the rest of the cast rises to meet her. The writing is crisp, sardonic and laugh out loud funny. The music is well chosen and perfect. This episode is sheer perfection from top to bottom. Witty, smart and beautifully timed and delivered.

Likeable characters that are also some horrible people. Realistic relationships that are absolutely complicated and filled with paradoxes. Continuous plot and relationship development in every episode. Shocking twists and turns despite UNBEATABLE humor.

This show has always delighted me and made me laugh out loud, but this season seems to be topping it already. After the nailbiting premiere, this episode somehow tops it with all of the separate plots centering on this one email Ava sent. I LOVED all of the storylines with Jimmy. He is absolutely hilarious this episode and you can't help but feel bad for him as he gets nothing he wants. I'm also glad they included Martha Kelly in this fun cast of characters at the agency, as she is just a delight in every scene. The way she talks is humorous on its own.

Lastly, I want to say that the ending was very shocking and I'm curious to see how Ava gets her way out of this. Really interesting development though! Love this show as always! Stylish and so so fun!
  • The first season was good, but it seemed to take a while to get its footing. Just based on these two episodes, there seems to be a much bigger and more complex dynamic between the two stars of the show in this sophomore season.
  • The pressure of the email builds on Ava and Jimmy takes drastic, personally-disadvantageous steps to make it go away. The conclusion is exquisite with Deborah in fighting fit form with a feint and counter-punch.

This has been by far over of the best episodes of the series. They managed to pack so much in 30 minutes It's almost unbelievable. This episode offered a little bit of everything. Just absolutely stellar, a standout above all others, of an already great show.

This one episode brought so much together from the storyline, really showing so much about them main characters. The scene of her picking up Ava, and how that was played out was actually just short of real genius. I mean if you ever want to look at an example of fine episodic series writing, this episode would be it. All around, very well done.
