The Coast Guard makes a daring rescue attempt off the coast of Cape Cod after a pair of oil tankers are destroyed during a blizzard in 1952.
Both Chris Pine and Holliday Granger have previously co-starred in Disney films. Pine in Into the Woods (2014) and also The Princess Diaries 2: a royal engagement and Granger in Cinderella (2015).
What Bernie Webber, Richard Livesey, Andy Fitzgerald and Ervin Maske accomplished on the night of February 18, 1952 is still considered the greatest small boat rescue in Coast Guard history. Bernie and Miriam were married on the date she planned. ...
When Webber and his crew go out to save the others, they reach massive waves and wind that throw the boat around like it's in a washing machine. Everybody is on deck, not strapped in or protected in anyway yet were not thrown overboard, injured, and remained right where they were. The impact would have been much worse than a major car crash on a speedway in a convertible without seat belts - that wouldn't have helped anyway - but they were fine.
