A profile of
Marilyn Monroe is presented over the course of her film career. This profile largely paints her as a victim, where disappointments in both her professional and personal lives affected the other, primarily the personal affecting the professional, and how the system failed her. While many of the transitions are filled in by interviews, both present day and archival material by historians and friends, the framework of the profile is celebrity actors making first person readings of published materials or interview transcripts about her by friends and historians, but primarily female actors of recently discovered written materials by Marilyn herself, and thus they channeling her spirit.
