Although the on-screen ending credits list "Copyright ©2011 Mickey Matson, LLC" (at 1:33:26), the U.S. Copyright Office records show the movie wasn't registered (PAu003654406) until October 31, 2012 with the title "Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Conspiracy", with date of creation 2012, and with a DVD as its description. This was well after its May 10, 2012 premiere. The on-screen 2011 reference dates from the premiere copy and the August 4, 2011 registration (PAu003569980) of an "Electronic file (eService)" of a "Dramatic work and music" with title "Mickey Matson and the Copperhead Conspiracy" and with copyright claimant "Harold David Cronk" that probably included his screenplay.

When the movie premiered on film in Grand Rapids, Michigan, it was listed as having a 101 minute runtime compared to the 93 minute 34 second runtime it has on the Screen Media DVD.
