  • This was an episode inspired by the likes of Deep Impact or Armageddon, or perhaps a prevailing theory pertaining to the extinction of the Earth's prehistoric rulers. A meteorite effectively wipes out Terra Nova's power, and a good measure of chaos ensues. Relevant questions that any astute viewer may ask would likely include the following. If the "Eye" can be shielded from an Electromagnetic pulse (EMP), then why too could Terra Nova's generators not also be shielded. Also, would an EMP generated by a meteorite exploding in the atmosphere actually melt the circuitry in computer hardware? Would the chip printing machine not also be damaged? Would computer hardware manufactured in 2149 not be able to withstand EMPs as a mere artifact of their design? And finally, is there really only one person in Terra Nova capable of repairing computer chips? Nevertheless, an enjoyable episode. - D.S.

The Meteor When a meteor falls nearby Terra Nova, the explosion causes electromagnetic pulse, destroying the circuit of the electronic devices in Terra Nova. Without power supply, the lives of the residents are affected. Jim and Zoe are trapped inside "The Eye", the library where Earth's history is stored in holographic projections. Maddy and Mark Reynolds are in their first date outside Terra Nova spending the day in a picnic. The rover, the radio and the weapon are not working and they need to walk back to Terra Nova. Elizabeth is operating Hunter and is forced to use the "old school", opening him. Boylan is the only one in Terra Nova capable to repair the chip of a machine that may fix all the electronic devices. Meanwhile, Mira and the Sixers create a diversion to Taylor using an Empirosaur to attack Terra Nova, while other Sixers retrieve the mysterious box to her.

"Nightfall" is a good episode of "Terra Nova", with the effects of a EMP in Terra Nova. Mira and the Sixers are the greatest mystery of the story, and now Lucas and the mysterious box join them. I hope that the plot shows better development on the next episode since so far is corny and weak. My vote is seven.
