  • Could definitely make a good feature length film. Just throw in some extra scenes of envelope writing, more improvised dialogues, extend on the twist of the story, would be a decent length film.it is a good short film based on a true story.Whether,it is a great challenge to try to move your audience in short films. In this film, Evgeniy(Spacey) is a very interesting character.the movie starts with a amazing character of spacey whose hobby is to collect letters from different countries.A great performance, as always, from Spacey. He's all that saved this derivation from crashing like the plane. hope it'll be good feature length movie in time...
  • "Envelope" is a drama mystery starring Kevin Spacey. He plays a Russian named Evgeniy. The time period is 1985. Evgeniy has an odd hobby in which he sends out letters to fictitious people in real countries. The letters always come back as undeliverable, but that's perfectly fine to him because he loves the idea of knowing that his letter went somewhere outside of the USSR and came back. Things get mysterious when someone from New Zealand responds to a letter of his.
  • Warning: Spoilers
This 17-minute short film "Envelope" was written and directed by Aleksey and stars Kevin Spacey as a man who has written letters to invented addresses everywhere around the world. This way he came up with a giant collection of dead letter each having stamps of the respective countries they went to. Now the last piece missing is New Zealand. He makes up an address, names and a reason to write the letter (the death of an uncle) and sends it away. Spacey gives a good performance and plays a really strange character here, especially looking at his interactions with the postman. Quickly afterward, things get political and he is suspected of illegal interaction with foreign secret services. Are they right? Or is it just a hobby of his. And what if it is a hobby? Is it sad, funny or just as different as everybody else of us is? Make it up for yourself.

I thought the first half of the film was very good, the second half when it gets more political I have to say I was not too fond of, just like the plane crash about to happen (can't really foresee it). Nonetheless, I recommend watching "Envelope" and it is a must-see for fans of Spacey or the TV series "Justfied" because of David Meunier.
