Pretentious crud
Kendo can't praise his work enough in another of his self-serving BTS short subjects here, but merely explains what's wrong with his approach to porn. Boasting that he has to be true to himself, not what others might want to see, he sums it all up for the prospective fan.
Playing, to hear Mr. K tell it, refers to a term fetish lovers use, I assume having to do with role-playing. For this project Ken expands the concept to playing around with the camera, color processing, editing, sound and music, which daring! Media gave him free rein to do during this period of his career, for better or worse.
Most revealing is his lecture on the artistic wonders of "shallow field" cameras like the Canon 5D he uses, and his love of racking focus to direct the viewer's eye hither and yon in the frame. This combined with his fetish for extreme cropping of image constitutes much of K's distinctive style. Distinctive is a word I use descriptively, not to approve of his ridiculous insistence on overusing and exaggerating his close-ups and dehumanizing his "models" (he never calls them actors or actresses, pointedly using this term instead).
There's a lifeless aspect to Ken's work, as the males stare stoically when not mechanically penetrating the gals, and the "splintered" editing and artificial framing and camerawork constantly distance the viewer. In today's move toward VR entertainment and specifically porn, Kendo's approach becomes increasingly archaic.
Cast features Brit Porn femmes rather than the Eastern European babes that Ken has vocally admitted preferring to hire, but they're wasted, particularly siuCh talented icons as Tanya Tate-unable to express herself sexually (or personally) as a mere puppet on K's strings. I doubt he cares one whit about any of them, an example being his referring to Sasha in his BTS interview as "Sarah".
