Navy S.E.A.L. sniper Chris Kyle's pinpoint accuracy saves countless lives on the battlefield and turns him into a legend. Back home to his wife and kids after four tours of duty, however, Chris finds that it is the war he can't leave behind.
According to Jason Hall, two babies were supposed to portray Chris and Taya Kyle's child. A doll was used after one baby was sick and the other did not show up.
It's a fuckin' hot-box.
soldier: The fuckin' dirt here tastes like dog shit.
Chris Kyle: Ah, well you'd know, wouldn't you?
When Kyle, off duty visits a comrade in the VA hospital, he's wearing a ball cap. As a Navy SEAL, and CPO, he would instinctively know this is a serious breach of protocol. In the Naval services, a cover (hat) is not worn in medical facilities, or in the galley, out of respect of the wounded and dying, except in very rare circumstances and on duty.
The opening credit also rolls in silence. There is no sound whatsoever until Chris Kyle is about to start his dialogue.
