  • This was the type of movie I was extremely looking forward to. I really enjoyed watching the first Confidential Assignment so I was really excited for this one as well. The entire cast did an amazing job playing their characters. The chemistry between Hyun Bin, Yoo Hae Jin, and Daniel Henney was really good with their comedic acting. I was finally happy they gave Im Yoon Ah a bigger role compared to when she was in the first one because in the first one, she wasn't in it for very long and it was one her first time acting in a movie. The villain Jin Sun Kyu played was spot on and this guy showed people that he can play any type of characters. The movie was fun to watch, the action scenes were coordinated good, but I did feel like this movie focused too much on the comedy. There were some comedies that felt a bit forced and childish. Despite the forced comedies, if you want to see some buddy cop comedy action film, this movie is one of the ones to watch.
  • Someone please tell Hollywood that this is how you make an Action Comedy movie. WOW, totally enjoyed this movie from start to finish. It had a good dosage of humor and fun without compromising the seriousness of the main issue. The story was solid and the antagonist did exceptionally well in portraying a no nonsense, straight shooter who had a goal and wasn't going to waste time chit chatting like these Western bad guys do.

All the main characters where top notch, I really enjoyed the father and daughter moments, not withstanding the gorgeous wife. But as any action movie, there were a couple of 'get out of here' moments but not as over the top as John Wick or The Mother.

Totally had a blast. It's another win for the Asians.
  • I enjoyed the pace and comic tone of this comic action movie. Hyun Bin plays it mostly serious so it's good that we have Daniel Henney with his bilingual dialogue and Yoona's sweet crushes to provide some effective comic relief. The story is quite easy to follow too not convoluted and has a little international elements with 3 countries trying to catch the bad guy. The action sequences on high rise buildings and shoot outs from NYC to Seoul are all quite well choreographed and fresh enough. You might think you have seen enough Hollywood action scenes but the ones here are high standard. Everyone looks nice and slim compared to Hollywood and it's steroid pumped up looking heroes. A refreshing change.
  • Bomb dive into an empty pool , a pool that once where filled with good old original stuff that has become generic like the word genre. But by all means, if you like actioncomedy from the 80's youll might find the actors and stupid romance pretty suitable for you, because south corean comedy with ''a slap in the face'' commands and huge set explotions and shootouts thats out of the realms of this world can be funny and the s.k. Agent of the 3 musqito eaters is just eminent in his facts and follies, hes the kind that looks like a salt and pepper dispenser, a mouthful of corean comedy talent.

But its not more than entertainment now, 35 years too late to be called exceptional, just a 6 from the grumpy old man.
  • Six years on from the success of the first buddy-buddy cop movie we get this follow-up, which expands the action to an international level. I felt that, on the whole, this film has the edge to its predecessor. The two main characters are back and their camaraderie feels more effortless, more natural here, and it helps that Hyun Bin's character comes across as less abrasive and more likeable too. There's a new American character who's okay, plus some returning others. You can tell that this is a bigger budget production because the action is more frequent and more explosive, while the choreography continues to impress. A slight but fun comedic thriller.
  • I haven't seen the original film Gongjo/Confidential Assignment, but I did hear that it was a pretty average "turn your brain off and enjoy" action flick, so I went into this with zero expectations. I was actually hooked from beginning to end, as the action scenes were surprisingly satisfying, the music during said scenes got me pumped up, and the comic relief was very tastefully done. In a nutshell, I would describe it as a cross between "The Man From Nowhere" and "Extreme Job." As those are two of my favorite Korean flicks, I enjoyed this one very much and would recommend it to all action fans who also have an interest in Korean films.
  • Highly disappointing. Each and every aspect associated with the movie feels unpolished and shallow, from acting to direction and from music to storyline. It's prequel was much much better compared to this, this movie is just unable to hold on to the legacy and charm of its predecessor. The most disappointing factor out of all was storyline. Baseless and senseless and logicless. Entire movie you struggle to understand what is happening. The director also seems confuse. Randomly placed scenes give this movie a unstructured dimension. Had High Hopes and expectations from this one considering the level of promotion and offcourse the cast, but fails to engage and satisfy audience. Could have been done in a much much better manner.
  • If you are looking for a good action movie, this is the one! It has everything: action, comedy, suspense until the end without being bored. It's worth it! I recommend this movie! Even you are not into Korean movies or kdrama, this movie catch your attention, because of the story line, the actors are great!

Their acting skills are impressive along with the stunts performed and the plot of the movie it's intriguing, also continues the story line from Confidential Assignment 1: 2017.

PS: I also recommend to watch first part of Confidential Assignment 1: 2017, in order to have a better picture of the story line, before watching the second part.
  • One thing Koreans do well in there movies is about Gangsters and horror movies.

When it comes to action movies, especially when they try to refer to "foreign" countries, they fail miserably.

This movie is full of cliche, bad foreign actors that you'd see on C rated CD movies.

Remember one of those movies where a hero dodges bullet from 10 gunman and kills them?

Remember one of those movies where the hero always seems to have a hidden card?

Remember that moment where the hero saves the day seizing that last second?

How about those family members that are so comedic at face of death?

How about a group of few "cool dudes" saving the world from an organization of bad guys?

Nothing in this movie seems realistic.

    This is Comedy, not action.

It's just one of Cliche Comedy movie.

    Warning: Spoilers
I read all the spoiler from those who already watched this movie and they give positive review and it's kind make my expectations high but I tried to keep it low as possible bc it's action movie, action movie cant go wrong but the comedy can make it worst. But I like how they arranged the scene for comic relief in this movie. It's doesnt feel forced.

Like I said, action movie cant go wrong, altho that part of shooting kinda absurd, like there's few men shooting but none managed to hit the subject. Except for that part, the rest is good.

Hyunbin's action part really *chef kiss*. He doesnt looks awkward at all. Haejin as a gum between Hyunbin & Daniel characters really funny. But as Haejin's said, they are the Avengers , who betrayed each others. Lmao!

Comedy part, I laugh out loud in the cinema during Minyoung (Im Yoona) and Jack (Daniel Henney) respective part.

Lemme start with Minyoung. Gurll, ur shamelessness really make me facepalm. But ur hard works finally give some result altho he was lowkey but surely he's getting there. And that smooth flirting in the club, guurrrlll you got some moves there! Attagurl! Minyoung is the very important in this movie. Sometime we need some comic relief after intense part in a movie.

And yeah, that's where Jack come in. Like mannn..he's me if I go to foreign country. All I need to know basic language, flirting or cursing words 🤣 I understand that part from the bottom of my heart. The only Russian's words that he knew really hilarious. I cant imagine him doing this type of comedy and here we are. They execute this comedy part really interestingly great.

And the ending, I guess its all the same with other movies. Whether it's Western or Eastern movies, the bad guy need to die. Kinda expected and the cliche. We just cant avoid it. But overall, I'm satisfied at how the bad guy died. No one want to die without a fight. And he give us that.

This movie is pretty amazing and double up the interesting part from the first movie.

The ending kinda remind me of KMovie EXIT. EXIT 2 can continue this movie if they didnt managed to prevent everything. Lol!
