  • I was about ready to give up on Gilrfriends' ambitious portmanteau series "Thornhill Diaries" after 3 desultory episodes, but the great Nica Noelle, in one of her first directorial efforts, saves the day with Episode 4, titled: Lesbian Psychotherapists Part 1". She also wrote herself a plum role in the lengthy (3-1/2 hours) saga.

Nica's fairly convoluted but easy to follow screenplay casts her as a corrupt shrink who not only humps her femme clients but seems predatory. Chief among them is Trinity Post, the terrific young actress who Nica later frequently hired for her videos, and their interplay, with Trinity as the bad girl, is priceless. Besides directing many highly dramatic scenes, this film also gives Noelle an opportunity to deliver probably her most erotic performance as actress.

Another young member of NN's troupe, Heather Silk, is the film's revelation, a nut-case and manipulator who is brilliant at combining arousing eroticism with unabashed malevolence. In my parallel Entertainment universe, she would have been signed to star in a pay-cable series after this performance, instead of ending her career stuck in idiotic fetish roles, per titles like "Submissive Foot Sluts". Show biz is a tough racket, indeed.

After much blackmail and heavy confrontations, finale brings in series regular Veronica Snow, written by Nica as a fellow psychotherapist. She's handed Nica's case of Satine Phoenix and Lena Nicole, latter called by Satine a "pillow princess" for accepting pleasuring but refusing to go down on lover Satine. Veronica kindly guides Lena through the art of cunnilingus, and nary a Girlfriends fan will be surprised when she joins in later for a lusty threesome.

One odd thing is that this film's sequel (Lesbian Psychotherapists Part 2) is designated as Part 12 of the omnibus "Thornhill Diaries" series, with several episodes in between drawing from other sources, including Noelle's "Girls in White 2007 Part 1". It's a bit confusing but worth sorting out for maximum lesbian-binge-watching (the Diaries is already up to 31 volumes which translates to about 75 hours of content).
