The Masaan actor Vicky Kaushal is on a roll. He has just signed in love triangle with director Sameer Sharma where he shares screen space with the Dum Lagake Haisha duo Ayushmann Khurrana and Bhumi Pednekar.
"It's very different from the usual love triangles, and that's all I can say at the moment. I started my career with a cameo in Sameer Sharma's Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. So it's like coming home," says Vicky.
Apparently Bhumi who had played a wife with weight issues in Dum Lagake Haisha here plays a slimmed-down stunner with two men panting after her. Interestingly director Sharma has not told either Ayushmann or Vicky who gets Bhumi at the end. "Like I said, it's a very unconventional film," says Vicky for whom the unconventional is the conventional.

Kangana Ranaut is making a big splash with her film Queen where she plays the vivacious character Rani, who ventures out on her honeymoon in Paris by herself. Already the promos have been creating some buzz for Vikas Bahl’s debut film for it’s fun storyline, Kangana’s charm, and of course that characteristic Amit Trivedi sound. This is the first soundtrack of the year for Trivedi, who creates a familiar breed of innovative and breezy songs that completely fit with that carpe-diem attitude of the film.
Initially, London Thumakda, sounded like a familiar riff of ‘Farukha Baadi’ from Trivedi’s other album Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, however he manages to make this one a gem to listen to. Time and again, Honey Singh has been dragged into the limelight for all the wrong reasons but then how does one justify the hoards of offers that he is flooded with from Bollywood to compose music. After hearing Honey Singh’s next romantic track for Shashant A Shah’s Bajatey Raho titled, ‘Kudi tu Butter’ with which he will also make his debut as a singer in Bollywood will change nothing but add another feather to his hat. Yo Yo Honey Singh who is known to feature in songs and rap in between has for the first time sung an entire song. Going well with the attitude of the film, the song comprises of a very ’Bajaoing’ feel which is also a Honey Singh patent. The groovy beats and the electro club feel make it a compulsion for the audience to shake a leg to this track. The music is...

“Mere paas Ma hain!” This iconic line once defined an a whole age of cinema (mainly the 60s and 70s) which was dedicated to upholding the mother’s wishes but is one which – according to actress Dolly Ahluwalia is deteriorating in this new era of film, where the focus is at times on the ‘item’ numbers of a film rather than the actual plot itself (Tees Maar Khan anyone?).
“There are not many roles for senior artists currently, and the significance of mother in present films is lost. The mothers of the 1960s used to play central characters but now we are losing that”, Dolly stated in a recent interview.
Dolly Ahluwalia who recently starred in, Vicky Donor and Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, says that there are fewer roles for senior female artists nowadays.
The actress said that earlier roles for women used to be much stronger, but not anymore.

We can safely say that 2012 was finally a good year for women, while there will still be masala films that do not offer nearly enough scenes for their heroines like Asin or Sonakshi Sinha, who can clearly do better. 2012 was a stellar year for actresses to grab some layered and honest roles that reinvented their careers and made us sit up in surprise. We had a year with the best re-entry (we won’t call it a comeback) of a beloved actress, and countless more women who gave it their all. Thankfully, our list is back to 10 of the best performances of the year, here’s hoping 2013 gets even better for actresses.
10. Katrina Kaif – Ek Tha Tiger/Jab Tak Hai Jaan
Katrina Kaif is consistently getting better over the years. While she can dance up a storm and support her Khans and a Kumar, this was the year for her to shine as an actress.

Esha won Miss Photogenic in the Femina Miss India contest in 2007 and featured in the Kingfisher Calendar in 2010, before being spotted and starring in her debut film. She had one of the busiest debut years with not one but three films, Jannat 2, Raaz 3 and Chakravyuh. Just when we thought she’d get the ‘Bhatt girl’ title she surprised us in the last release, a Prakash Jha directorial. Thus far she’s gotten mixed reviews for her performance however her appearance impressed us enough to warrant a position on this countdown.

It has not fared very well, despite the many positive reviews the Kunal Kapoor starrer received from the critics. However, it has managed to recover its costs, since the film was made on a tight budget of Rs. 3 Crore.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh messaged the following on his Twitter account regarding the commercial success of 1920 Evil Returns, which stars Aftab Shivdasani and Tia Bajpai in the leading roles. “#1920 Evil Returns has recorded an exceptional total. Biz was robust on Friday, dipped marginally on Saturday, but went upwards on Sunday.” Many industry experts are surprised that the film is a huge success, especially since it was made on a small budget of Rs.

Kunal Kapoor has praised Ranbir Kapoor for taking risks with his acting career. The 34-year-old can currently be seen opposite Huma Qureshi in Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. He told The Times of India: "I admire Ranbir. When I view him as an outsider, I can tell you he had the opportunity to be the next lover boy of the industry. But he didn't choose to be just that. "He consciously chose to take some risks, like Barfi!, Rockstar, and he proved himself right." Kunal added: "This (more)...

The first thing that stood out of the initial trailers of Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana (Lstck) was the name of Anurag Kashyap associated with it. The man of the dark side of cinema whose banner Akfpl gave Udaan, Gangs Of Wasseypur as well as Sunil Bohra’s Shahid, and Chittagong, is crossing over to the light side with a recipe of comedy which is being promoted as the first food film of Bollywood. His latest production Aiyyaa was at the receiving end of scathing reviews, will Lstck do anything substantial to pave Anurag’s space with this genre?
Chased by gangsters in London whom he owes money, Omi (Kunal Kapoor) returns to his ancestral home that he had once fled in the hope that he can swindle the money his grandfather’s family dhaba churns owing to the dish that made the dhaba famous ‘chicken khurana’. Much to Omi’s misfortune,...

Anderson has now entered that realm where everything he does is expected to be a masterpiece. This certainly feels like one. Like There Will Be Blood, it explores a big subject (a Scientology-like cult) via two contrasting men: Hoffman as the Hubbard-ish leader; Phoenix as a drunken, damaged drifter. Those expecting a straightforward story – tough. You're getting a "masterpiece".

When the lead stars of Utv Spotboy’s Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, Kunal Kapoor and Huma Qureshi, were filming the picturisation of the catchy song, Kikli Kalerdi, it was casting director, Mukesh Chhabra who stepped in to choreograph. Shot during the winter in a small village close to Ludhiana, Lanto, Kikli is traditionally a Lohri song, which marks the end of Winter in the Punjab region, and it was essential to bring the festive mood into the song. “I didn’t want the song to look a choreographed piece, as people just dance to the beat of the dholaks during Lohri, but at the same time I wanted some sort of synchronisation. I planned their placements including their smallest moves,” explains Chhabra.
While the team rehearsed for a couple of days, the song was shot in a single stretch. He added, “We started shooting from 4.30 in the evening till 5 in the morning.

Innovative marketing strategies are always the want of the hour when it comes to promoting films. And so, even the team of Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana have come up with a very different idea for promoting their film, which stars Kunal Kapoor and Huma Qureshi.
The team has got their tie up with the dabbawalas of Mumbai who earn their living by delivering food tiffins to various offices, schools etc. These dabbas will now carry the film’s tag and will reach 1, 00,000 offices in the city. The story of the film is about a secret recipe called Chicken Khurana, which had made the Khurana dhaba in Punjab famous.
This is producer Anurag Kashyap’s first family film and he thinks that ‘dabbawalas’ as a concept is unique in Mumbai, and as this movie is about food, it was the right thing to do. “We couldn’t think of a better tie up.
