Jennifer Aniston may not forgive her close friend Adam Sandler after he failed to give her a wrap-up present after Murder Mystery 2. It was only during an interview that she came to learn about Sandler’s gift-giving habit. He had earlier gifted Maseratis to his co-stars on Grown Ups including Chris Rock.

Tim Meadows has been cast in CBS’s upcoming pilot “Dmv.”
The former “SNL” cast member is the first to join the cast of “Dmv,” which was ordered to pilot by the network in August. The single-cam workplace comedy, which hails from CBS Studios, is written by Dana Klein, who executive produces alongside Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling, Robyn Meisinger.
The official logline for “Dmv” is as follows: Based on award winning author Katherine Heiny’s short story, a single camera workplace comedy set at the place everyone dreads going most: the Dmv. Our quirky and lovable characters are making minimum wage, doing a thankless job where customers are annoyed before they even walk in the door. Good thing they have each other.
Meadows will play Gregg, a former high school English teacher, who likes to get through the driving tests, and the day, as quickly as possible, per the official character description.

Stand-up comedians don’t typically get cast in iconic horror franchises, hence why Rodney Dangerfield never faced off against Freddy Krueger, and Joan Rivers never ridiculed Michael Myers’ uninspired coverall ensemble.
But in 2019, the world was blindsided by the news that Chris Rock would be executive producing and starring in a new Saw movie, presumably in which a Jigsaw-like psycho tortures people using only a DVD copy of Grown Ups 2.
In 2021, we got Spiral: From the Book of Saw, which indeed found Rock playing a Chris Rock-like detective named Zeke Banks, who’s hot on the trail of a brutal serial killer.
While society has seemingly memory-holed Spiral, a lot of people brought it up in response to a recent social media post asking for examples of modern movies in which stand-up comedians perform their acts in character, à la Rodney Dangerfield. A lot of people pointed to Spiral...

Back in the spring, we got the surprising news that one of Netflix's many original movies featuring comedian Adam Sandler was going to be a sequel to the beloved sports comedy "Happy Gilmore." That's right, the hockey player who wasn't too strong on ice skates but had one hell of a drive off the golf tee is coming back for a new movie. We're still waiting to see what the story will be this time, but during a recent appearance on "The Tonight Show" to promote his new comedy special "Adam Sandler: Love You," the Sandman took some time to hype up "Happy Gilmore 2," and he even confirmed one of the big cameos we'll see in the movie.
As Sandler told host Jimmy Fallon and the live audience:
"People have been asking me for a long time, 'Do Happy Gilmore 2,' and I was always like, 'Nah, I'll only let you down.

Loving Adam Sandler means making your peace with the actor's wildly inconsistent output. It's not like The Sandman has ever been a critical darling; even during his rise to superstardom in the '90s, "Happy Gilmore" and "The Wedding Singer" were the only movies of his that you could reasonably call well-reviewed (and that's coming from an ardent "Billy Madison" defender). But the films that he's churned out under his Happy Madison Productions, which was founded in 1999, have been all over the place quality-wise. Even most die-hard Sandlites probably wouldn't go to the mattresses over stinkers like "Jack and Jill" and "Grown Ups 2."
That's only become doubly true since Sandler entered his alliance with Netflix in the 2010s. Sometimes, you end up with little more than "content" for viewers to stream and immediately forget, but you can also get remarkably good stuff like "The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected...

Comic Nick Swardson is following up a disastrous performance in Colorado with a promise to “make it up” to the town where he was escorted from the stage 20 minutes into his stand-up set.
On Sunday at the Vilar Performing Arts Center in Beaver Creek, an admittedly inebriated Swardson, 47, was removed from the stage to the sounds of an angry crowd booing him after he stammered through what appeared to be a nonsensical opening during his headlining appearance. Prime Video’s big February drop is Mr. & Mrs. Smith! No, not the 2005 Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie action movie, but a new TV series kinda based on it starring Donald Glover and Maya Erskine. The set up for the show version? Glover and Erskine are two strangers who both get jobs at a shady spy agency and are asked to get married so that they can pretend to be a couple undercover, but things get more complicated when they start falling in love for real. Uh oh!

For a movie that's mostly about how friendships are forever, the 2010 Adam Sandler comedy "Grown Ups" may have had fans wondering about a conspicuously missing face from the sequel. For much of Sandler's career on the big screen, he's been joined by longtime friend and collaborator Rob Schneider. Starting with 1998's "The Waterboy," the two actors have appeared in well over a dozen movies together, from the likes of "Mr. Deeds" and "The Longest Yard" to even an animated movie like "Eight Crazy Nights." Contrary to recent rumors, the bond still seems to be going strong as the two ended up joining forces again in 2017's "Sandy Wexler" and once more in "Hubie Halloween" three years ago. But that hasn't stopped fans from wondering why, after such a prominent role in "Grown Ups," Schneider didn't return for another go-around in "Grown Ups 2."

Fans are saying farewell to Manifest and Never Have I Ever.
For the week of June 5 to June 11, the series dominated Netflix’s English-language series list. Manifest as Season 4, Part 2 took the top spot with 78.15M hours viewed in the week after it debuted on June 2. The enthusiasm surrounding the final episodes also boosted Season 1 back into the Top 10 with 18.18M hours viewed.
Devi Vishwakumar’s senior year was met with near equal excitement, as Never Have I Ever Season 4jumped to No. 2 on the list following its June 8 debut. In the first few days of release, Season 4 racked up 76.21M hours viewed. It would not be surprising to see Never Have I Ever tally another successful week during the next measurement window, when it will have been available for the entire seven-day span.
Those new releases pushed Fubar to No. 3, though the series still drew 42.28M hours viewed after two weeks at No.

After a tumultuous return to his family’s hole-in-the-wall Chicago restaurant, chef Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) and his staff transform the greasy sandwich joint into a first-class dining experience after he discovers the slush fund his brother left behind. Despite having the extra money to make his dreams a reality, the future proves to be both a personal and professional challenge for Carmy and the crew.
Watch the trailer for Season 2 of “The Bear”:
Beginning on June 14, the new series continuation of the beloved film “The Full Monty” arrives on Hulu. It’s 25 years later and the men and women of Sheffield, England, are in reboot mode, navigating life and family. [This story contains spoilers from Netflix’s Murder Mystery 2.]
Adam Sandler has just expanded his coterie of comedic filmmakers with Murder Mystery 2.
The new Netflix action comedy is a follow-up to the 2019 Kyle Newacheck-directed film, with this one counting Jeremy Garelick at the helm. Sandler and Jennifer Aniston reprise their roles as Nick and Audrey Spitz, now working as private detectives, who find themselves embroiled in a case that leads them to Paris after their friend, the Maharajah (Adeel Akhtar), is kidnapped at his own wedding. Mark Strong, Mélanie Laurent and Jodie Turner-Smith also star in the sequel that debuted in the top spot on the streamer’s English-films list.
Garelick directed such films as 2015’s The Wedding Ringer, an early starring vehicle for Kevin Hart, and 2020 teen comedy The Binge, but Murder Mystery 2 definitely includes his biggest action set pieces yet, which makes sense when a movie involves someone getting...

Salma Hayek Pinault Was Told She Was Too 'Sexy' For Comedy Until Adam Sandler's Grown Ups Came Along
As a producer, Adam Sandler has always managed to attract an impressive litany of talent. Although the films released through Sandler's studio, Happy Madison, regularly get terrible reviews, they tend to be very lucrative and high-profile actors keep coming back for more work. This may be because, as the rumor mill has it, Sandler is a relentlessly decent and kind human being that others love to work with. As such, Al Pacino can be seen in "Jack and Jill," Susan Sarandon appeared in "That's My Boy," and the likes of Drew Barrymore, Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Aniston, and Winona Ryder have all played Sandler's wife or love interest in his movies.
In Dennis Dugan's 2010 film "Grown Ups," Salma Hayek Pinault plays Roxanne, a successful fashion designer, and the wife of a talent agent named Lenny (Sandler). "Grown Ups" is about how Lenny is still very close with the circle of...

The new year is upon us and Amazon Prime Video is kicking things off in grand fashion. Not only are they debuting the third season of their Tom Clancy adaptation “Jack Ryan,” they’re also debuting the final season of the ambitious, Al Pacino-starring actioner “Hunters.”
Initially debuting to the service in February of 2020, right as the pandemic started, the series’ first season follows a ragtag group of Nazi hunters in 1977 New York City. The so-called Hunters discover that hundreds of high-ranking Nazi officials are living in the United States and are conspiring to create a Fourth Reich in America. The Nazi hunters, led by Pacino, will embark on a bloody quest to bring the Nazis to justice and thwart their genocidal plans. The series concluded in 2020 and has taken some time to get back to screens. Unfortunately, this second season will be a finale as well so fans...

Every 1,000 years or so, Adam Sandler seems to develop an itch to go off and make a movie with an auteur director (or directors in the case of the Safdie Brothers), giving rise to such critically-acclaimed films as "Punch-Drunk Love," "The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)," and "Uncut Gems." But as much as we cinephiles like to drag the Sandman for all the disposable movies he makes in-between, that doesn't mean they're devoid of personal meaning to him. No, not even "Grown Ups 2."
Sandler's 2022 offering to the Netflix gods, "Hustle," acts as an olive branch from his Happy Madison Productions label to the fans of his rare high art projects. The movie casts Sandler as Stanley Sugerman, a brusque, bearded scout for the Philadelphia 76ers who's eager to land a desk job and finally get off the road. He gets a shot to do just that when he finds...

While it may have been difficult to watch "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" get the axe from NBC, a comedy about a group of good people within the NYPD actually trying to do good for their community during a very real influx of injustice made their genuine efforts look all too much like a fantasy. Although the series has left us, when "B99" wanted to be funny, it had some of the most hilarious writing on television, and the stacked ensemble cast always came to play.
As with any great sitcom, however, some of the series most memorable moments involve the addition of a surprise guest star to the mix. "B99" has featured such a diverse roster as Lou Diamond Phillips, Patton Oswalt, Jenny Slate, and Sterling K. Brown, but it was in their first season where series creators/writers Dan Goor and Michael Schur brought out one of their funniest guest spots in Adam Sandler.

Lil Nas X has already shown his acting chops in music videos for “Montero (Call My By Your Name)” and “Industry Baby.” In this week’s cover story for Variety‘s Young Hollywood issue, the 22-year-old hip-hop star reveals that he plans to one day follow in the footsteps of artists such as Lady Gaga and Beyoncé by starring in movies.
“Absolutely, that’s going to happen for sure,” Nas says.
When asked what kind of acting he envisions for himself, Nas explains: “Honestly, I want to dabble around in a lot of things like I do in music,” he says, before listing of some well-known films in different genres. “‘A Star is Born.’ Let’s also do a ‘Grown Ups 2.’ Let’s do an ‘Obsessed’ with Beyoncé. Maybe we claim the sequel. We do the gay version of ‘Obsessed.'”
Nas also has plans to branch out into TV acting.

At this point, the majority of Adam Sandler fans are aware that his movies boast many connections, creating a Happy Madison cinematic universe that was established in 1999 when Happy Gilmore‘s Chubbs showed up in Little Nicky, and continues to this day following Ben Stiller’s cameo as Hal L. in Hubie Halloween.
Throughout the 21st Century, Sandler’s starring vehicles have featured several recurring figures that’ve appeared in multiple films, even though the only live-action sequel he’s made during his entire career has been Grown Ups 2. The actor has joked that he’d love to do an Avengers-style crossover, but a new fan theory now claims that his shared mythology is a lot more intricate than that and similar to Quentin Tarantino’s cinematic universe.

If anyone had even the slightest doubts over Adam Sandler‘s continuing popularity, then the latest numbers should put any questions to bed. Netflix subscribers have spent more than two billion hours streaming his movies, which is the equivalent of over 228,000 years, a mind-boggling figure that makes it clear just how valuable Happy Madison Productions is to the platform.
Even before he took his particular brand of comedy exclusively to Netflix, though, Sandler was one of very few actors who could unquestionably be labeled as a box office draw. Not a lot of people are capable of opening a pic based on the strength of their name and nothing else in an era where the franchise is king, but a combined haul of over $5.5 billion is undeniably impressive, especially when the only sequels of the bunch are Grown Ups 2 and the second and third installments of the Hotel Transylvania series.

The title promises disaster, and the movie delivers: “Love, Weddings & Other Disasters” is a witless, charmless, barely-written, indifferently acted, hideously shot, and generally odious waste of 90 minutes.
In stringing together various overlapping love stories, all of them thoroughly irritating and utterly lacking in human insight, writer-director Dennis Dugan seems to be auditioning to take over the painfully inane ensemble pieces of late-period Garry Marshall. I once joked that Marshall’s “Valentine’s Day” made “Love Actually” look like “Nashville,” but “Love, Weddings & Other Disasters” makes “Valentine’s Day” look like “The Shop Around the Corner.”
Dugan has spent the last quarter-century as one of the main co-conspirators of the Happy Madison Death-of-Cinema Fun Factory, but his terrible Adam Sandler movies (including “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” and “Grown Ups 2”) at least offer the allure of big names collecting a paycheck in movies that might not be funny...

Norm Crosby, the comedian whose fractured English won him fame as “Mr. Malaprop,” died Saturday at age 93.
He died of heart failure in Los Angeles, his wife, Joan, told The Hollywood Reporter.
The Boston native was a regular on the stand-up comedy circuit in the 1950s, projecting a blue-collar guy-next-door persona that was built on his often shaky grasp of vocabulary — he’d go to the tailor because his pants need an “altercation” or call “catastrophe” a punctuation mark or claim that people who can’t read or write have a problem with “illegitimacy.”
His routine led to frequent appearances on TV talk shows hosted by Ed Sullivan, Johnny Carson and Merv Griffin. He co-starred in Phyllis Diller’s short-lived NBC sitcom in 1968 and appeared on many televised roasts throughout the 1970s and ’80s. From 1978 to 1981, he hosted the syndicated series “The Comedy Shop” featuring appearances by up-and-coming comics.

How their lives and loves intersect is half the fun in this film that proves romance is alive and well... and as crazy as ever! Of course it is. Adam Sandler's newest film, Hubie Halloween, which premiered on Netflix on Oct. 7, features a tribute to Cameron Boyce during the credits. The dedication, which includes a picture of the late actor, reads, "Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day." Boyce, who died from epilepsy in 2019, had originally been cast as the bully, who was played in the film by his Jessie costar Karan Brar. During the end credits of the new Netflix pic Hubie Halloween from Adam Sandler’s production banner Happy Madison Productions, tribute was paid to the late Cameron Boyce, who starred alongside Sandler in Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2.
The heartfelt dedication was included on a title card at the end of the movie saying, “I’n loving memory of Cameron Boyce. Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day.”
Boyce, who was 20 when he passed, starred as Sandler’s son in the aforementioned Grown Ups franchise. Boyce died last July after complications with epilepsy. After his death, Sandler remembered Boyce on his Instagram account saying, “Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around. Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family.

Fans of high quality cinema may not be particularly enamored by Adam Sandler‘s continued working relationship with Netflix, but their frequent collaborations have turned out pretty well for both the actor and the streaming giant. Despite most of the movies not being any good, they’ve consistently been some of the most popular titles on the platform, with subscribers spending literally billions of hours occupying their time with Sandler-related content.
Uncut Gems was another reminder of how great he can be as a dramatic actor, which makes it all the more infuriating that Sandler seems much happier to return to the well and churn out a string of forgettable comedies at the expense of taking any risks. Then again, given how successful he’s been at that, you can’t really blame him.

I Now Pronounce You Chuck And Larry, a forgotten movie starring Adam Sandler, has been in the Netflix top 10 films list for almost an entire week at this point, currently sitting in the #8 spot on the chart.
Originally released in 2007, the pic stars Sandler alongside Kevin James and Jessica Biel. Directed by Dennis Dugan and written by Barry Fanaro and Alexander Payne, it tells the story of two Brooklyn men who pretend to be a gay couple in an effort to receive domestic partner benefits.
Although the subject matter may be a little bit tasteless by today’s political standards, the film still offers a somewhat decent performance from Sandler, who’s starred in numerous comedies throughout his career that follow a very similar formula as this one does. Most of those efforts, however, were not well-received.
