All-around enjoyable It's not THAT bad , if you love Parkor you can give a try , for me i like this movie over all simple and fun
I enjoyed this action thriller movie which has been presented to the MIFF in Milan in May 2013 and it was awarded for Best screenplay. The movie is about the new discipline Parkour (free running), with great action and good plot. From the beginning you find yourself engaged with the storyline, realistic athletic sequences, and cool scenes. The cast is brilliant with an incredible stunt work (parcour) and, most relevant, accomplished without computerized effects. A must-to-see for action lovers and parkour fans. Strange that a film that has won in Italy with an Italian director is not distributed in Italy! Hope it will come soon in Italian theaters in 3D version.
Where to be begin? Well, this was one of those movies you happen to watch on netflix. This movie centers around a kid who is a hero, and a thief. Amongst all other things, he's just your average outcast. He moves from town to town never really finding a home. There's very little to this movie. Very simple plot, no surprises at all. It's a matter of when it will end, not how. The acting is very mediocre and lazy. The writing doesn't really grasp your attention. I feel like this movie was made for Disney. (Coincidentally it stars a former Disney star 'Kelsey Chow')If you minus the few gun scenes, this movie would have been stamped with a PG rating. If you're looking for a "live action" thriller, this is not it. It merely advertises as fast action, but it simply does not deliver.
In May2013I had the opportunity to assist to the showing of the film "RUN",during the MIFF in Milan, where Simone Bartesaghi was rewarded as best screenplay.I've found the film sympathetic and really drawing well both for its plot and for the scenes and given images even when tension and well interpreted.I particularly liked the father, interpreted by the actor Adrian Pasdar.Unfortunately I could'nt see the 3D version, but I came to know that during the film festival in Los Angeles the film was rewarded for the best director and the best 3D technique.I wish to see as soon as possible in Italy in3D.All the film was missing computer effect and this I appreciated a lot,Finally we have a film where images are made by a man only. My compliments to all cast and to the Parkour..............they Have been great!
I watch a lot of action flicks and RUN is right up there. Its more than a fast paced take of the hero villain, its a testament to cool angles and top editing, mixed in with killer sound tracks and some awesome air that defies the laws of both film making and gravity. Its great to see the use of youth arts and physique, and there is no shortage of screen holding energy. This may be a flick for the younger ones, while the older ones will enjoy a peak into youth culture, all the while its about self esteem and character building. Yeah, its a take on the young hero, and the phase in life when young ones think themselves as invincible, but for us older types, its cool to get a window back into the current if not changing youth. Its back to the normal prescribed action formula of eye for an eye, except, there are new spunks to eye, and walls to climb, so this flick takes us, into new familiar grounds. It celebrates all things youth fashion and artz, while exploring Parkour, is a holistic training discipline using movement that developed from military obstacle course training. Practitioners aim to get from A to B in the most efficient way possible. They do this using only their bodies and their surroundings to propel themselves; furthermore, they try to maintain as much momentum as is possible in a safe manner.
