PG-13 | | Horror, Mystery, Thriller
The Lamberts believe that they have defeated the spirits that have haunted their family, but they soon discover that evil is not beaten so easily.
This is the third movie and second project (counting the two movies as a single franchise) that involved horror and Barbara Hershey, after The Entity (1982). In it, Carla Moran (Hershey) is pursued by an evil being. Curiously, in this movie, her son, Josh, played by Patrick Wilson, is pursued by an evil being.
Young Elise Rainier:
Hi. I'm Elise. You must be Lorraine.
Young Lorraine: Yes. Nice to meet you. I'm sorry it's so late. My day job kind of makes raising my son a night job.
Young Elise Rainier: Don't worry about it. In my line of work, things tend to happen when it gets dark.
(at around 3 mins) There is a photo of Josh as a child standing in front of a car holding a dog that reveals that a spirit is watching him. In the first film, the spirit appears as a reflection in the windshield. In the second film, the same photo shows the spirit standing in the background behind the car instead of appearing in the windshield.
