I remember being mildly touched by the Kipling poem, "What if", when I was in Junior High. I so wish I would have taken it to heart so long ago. This Short would have gone far in helping my mind and heart wrap around the meaning.
Max and Dania have taken potentially cliché scenes and transformed into something original, beautiful and moving. As a Yank, I found the only exception to be feather the wind scene toward the end a huge distraction as it appeared to be quite the homage to,"Forest Gump," with just a touch of the plastic bag scene from, "American Beauty. "
Very mild criticism aside I plan to show this to my 8 year old's class, if the administration allows. Or at least use it is used in Jr. High when the poem is required reading.
