Fioravante decides to become a professional Don Juan as a way of making money to help his cash-strapped friend, Murray. With Murray acting as his "manager", the duo quickly finds themselves caught up in the crosscurrents of love and money.
The idea for the film originated over a lunch between John Turturro and some of his friends when Turturro was encouraged to do some improvisations. Seeing the amused reaction of his lunch guests, Turturro felt that there was the seed of a good idea.
