The movie is based on a Gujarati play called Kanji Virudh Kanji (literally Kanji vs. Kanji), and with a plot similar to that of the Australian film The Man Who Sued God.
Kanji Lalji Mehta:
Why do spirits become restless after death? When a person dies, he gets freedom. Then, why does he become restless?
Mahadev: It's not like that. What if someone's last wish remains unfulfilled?
Kanji Lalji Mehta: Yes. Then the son will fulfill it.
During the court scene where he's almost strangled by the enraged priest, Kanji's beard stubble magically disappears and reappears in various parts of the same scene. Even when it is seen, its length varies constantly.
A verse of Bhagvad Geeta is displayed before closing credits roll, which reads, "BE FREE FROM FEAR. BE FEARLESS AND HAVE FAITH IN THE DIVINE".
