Morgan Lofting, the veteran voice actress best known for her turn as the Baroness, the ruthless Cobra chief intelligence officer who brought chaos to G.I. Joe animated series and movies, has died. She was 84.

Lofting died unexpectedly Wednesday at her home in Burbank, her agents Nery Lemus and Christopher Arsaga of CelebWorx announced. “As one of the 10 founding actors at our agency, she meant the world to us and our company,” they said in a statement.

The voice actress also portrayed Aunt May and the Black Cat for a 1981-82 Spider-Man series and Moonracer and Firestar for a 1985 Transformers series, and she did voice work on the Arnold Schwarzenegger-starring Total Recall (1990), too.

Lofting came up with a European accent for the dark-haired Baroness, a sexy master of disguise and expert in weapons and hand-to-hand combat who sported black-rimmed eyeglasses and a tight black leather outfit.

Kanopy is an educational library for streaming as it collaborates with public libraries and universities to feature its content without requiring a fee or including commercials. There will not be a fourth season for Disney Xd’s DuckTales. The network said today that the animated series will not continue past its current third season.

“The talented creative team, led by Matt Youngberg and Francisco Angones, have delivered exceptional storytelling with uniquely reimagined characters for three seasons of 75 episodes and more than 15 shorts,” a Disney Xd spokesperson said in a statement. “While physical production is wrapping, DuckTales continues to be available daily on Disney Channels and Disney+ around the world and fans will get an epic season finale in 2021.”

The series aired its most recent episode on November 30.

Upon posting the first trailer for Reign of the Supermen the other day, I knew in my bones that much more info regarding the next DC animated movie was sure to follow. And as it turns out, my suspicion proved correct because Warner Bros. have pulled back the curtain on the highly anticipated followup to The Death of Superman.

Fortunately, we won’t have to wait for too much longer, as the film will drop digitally on January 15, 2019, with Ultra HD Blu-ray Combo Pack and Blu-ray Combo Pack releases bringing up the rear on January 29. Basically, this was what we expected after taking past quarter one debuts into account.

Naturally, a killer voice cast will be along for the ride, for the official press release confirms the return of various favorites carrying over from the first flick:

One reason why the character of Batman has endured for 78 years is that he’s so malleable. Sure, there are intrinsic qualities that unite various interpretations such as his superior intellect, martial arts skills and care for his fellow man, but that doesn’t mean there haven’t been portrayals on opposite ends of the spectrum. Morning all, lovely weather out today. Birds are singing, coffee in my cup, and just Voltron! So awhile ago I wrote up a story about the new Netflix series Voltron Legendary Defender and there was a fair bit of excitement too cause giant machines combining to for even more giant robots is kind of my thing. I had a high praise for the voice cast, animation style, and mecha design which while different held a standard of tradition that would help keep the purist fans happy. The Team Focus Blast Off returns with special guest, Yuri Lowenthal (Ben 10: Omniverse).

Lowenthal has lent his voice talent to Ben 10, Sasuke Uchiha on Naruto Shippuden and Lagoon Boy on Young Justice.

In this Blast Off, we lament over the loss of Young Justice, talk about cool video games from 2013 like The Last of Us, geek out over rad cartoon merch and dive into our inner superheroes.

Yuri also gives us some insight into his career as a voice talent as well as what it takes to be a producer on his web series, Shelf Life.

Oh, and did I mention he gives us a few hints on what we can expect going into 2014 on Ben 10: Omniverse?

We’ve got a new clip from the “Duel of the Duplicates” finale on Ben 10: Omniverse. This clip features all of our old school, Tennyson favorites, including: Uncle Max, Gwen and Kevin.

Episode 4.9, “For a Few More Brains” is also the penultimate episode of 2013. We’re curious to see how the current battle with Albedo and Khyber affects the series in the New Year. Personally, I just want more Gwen and Kevin. One can dream.

“For a Few Brains More” closes out the three-part story, featuring the return of Albedo. In this arc’s finale, Ben, Rook and Grandpa Max go head-to-head with Ultimate Albedo – who has soaked up all of Azmuth’s brain power. Expect lots of Azmuth jokes in this episode. Also, Gwen and Kevin are back! Oh yeah!

What better way to enter the holiday season than with a Ben 10: Omniverse 3-part story arc?

“Duel of the Duplicates” kicks off this weekend in “The Ultimate Heist.” We’ve had a chance to preview all three episodes, and revel in the Tennyson antics, alien transformations, surprises and plot twists. The rush took me back to “The Forge of Creation” episode of Ben 10: Ultimate Alien. It was in that story that we first met “Ultimate Kevin” – the events of which nearly led to Kevin and the universe’s demise.

Thankfully, we got through all that drama. “Duel of the Duplicates” may not feature Ultimate Kevin, but the events of this arc will surely ripple throughout the rest of the season.

Without giving away any major spoilers, here are 13 Focus Points on “Duel of the Duplicates”:

- Albedo is back and he still wants revenge on (guess who?...

The second volume of the Ben 10: Omniverse series, titled Heroes Rise, finds titular hero Ben Tennyson (Yuri Lowenthal) and sidekick Rook (Bumper Robinson) facing skilled predator Khyber (David Kaye) and his vicious greyhound, who possesses the same (yet opposite) powers that Ben has. (For those unfamiliar with the series, basically Ben has a nifty watch gizmo that transforms him into various alien lifeforms to help him combat evil in the Omniverse. The greyhound has a matching dog collar that turns him into the predators of Ben’s transformations.) With the help of more devious characters who lurk in the background (and in flashbacks), Khyber goes through the series hunting down Ben.

Prodigal, the globe-spanning tale of a team of fortune-hunters living on the edge of danger from writer Geoffrey Thorne and artist Todd Harris, debuted today on Thrillbent.com.

In addition to writing Prodigal, Geoff Thorne has written comics for Dark Horse, Spinner Rack and Ezd Comics. His TV credits include: Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Leverage, Ben 10: Ultimate Alien, and Ben 10: Omniverse.

Todd Harris is an accomplished artist for both comics and storyboards. His credits include: X Men Origins: Wolverine, God of War II & III, In Time, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn, and Thrillbent’s own Arcanum.

I have to admit, I’m woefully out of the loop when it comes to Adventure Time, but I know it’s one of the biggest things at every con, and of course, their presence will be heard, along with other folks from the Cartoon Network, at this summer’s Comic-Con. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Cartoon Network will once again offer the ultimate fan experience both on and off the convention floor. Taking center stage is an Adventure Time themed booth on the convention floor showcasing the Ice King’s iconic castle with an exclusive fan-centric photo opportunity. I really don't put much stock in the International Animated Film Society's 2013 Annie Awards, which is why I didn't rush to report on their results on Saturday. One year Disney and Pixar boycott the event, feeling there was an unfair advantage paid to larger contributing sponsors, DreamWorks being the primary example. So with such a nasty stench over the event what good does it do to pay it much mind? That said, I'll be brief in mentioning Wreck-It Ralph topped Saturday night's winners with five awards, including Best Animated Picture. The awards have something like a 75% streak when it comes to helping predict the eventual Oscar winner for Best Animated Feature and as the days have gone on, it's looking more and more like Ralph will be this year's winner (see my predictions here). Pixar's Brave, Laika's ParaNorman and DreamWorks' Rise of the Guardians each took home two awards in lesser,...

I love the art of animation, and it's amazing to see how far things have come and advanced over the years. The industry is changing in terms of technology, but what it all really comes down to is telling good stories. There's been a lot of great animated movies this year, and many of them are up for several awards at the 40th Annual Annie Awards.

Some of the movies nomainated include Brave, Frankenweenie, Hotel Transylvania, ParaNorman, Rise of the Guardians, The Pirates! Band of Misfits, and Wreck-It Ralph. Out of those films my favorite is a toss up between Wreck-It Ralph and ParaNorman, those were two pretty incredible films. I think ParaNorman has the edge though.

Some of the other animated properties nominated are Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1, Disney Tron: Uprising, Justice League: Doom, Robot Chicken ‘DC Comics Special', South Park ‘Raising the Bar’, and several others.
