On a visit to Anaheim in April, a crowd of parkgoers wearing Loki horns and Ratatouille chef hats cheered as a robotic Spider-Man swung through the air and slid upside down to the ground at Disney California Adventure’s Avengers Campus. Across the way, at Disneyland, the wait times for the sleek battle ride Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge stretched to 90 minutes. Undeterred, fans in Jedi costumes clustered to wait beneath the looming cliffs of the fabricated Star Wars planet.
The demand for the newer franchises is unsurprising, but in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Josh D’Amaro, chairman of Disney Experiences, points out that even Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, a new attraction based on two of its oldest characters, is drawing big numbers.

Madonna released more hits than just about anyone but not all of them are vocally challenging. Despite this, her co-writer said one of her hits proves the Material Girl has the best singing voice ever. He also revealed what he thinks of people who don’t see her as a real artist.
Madonna’s songwriter said 1 hit proved she could singer better than these rock stars
Though he is not a household name, Patrick Leonard is one of the most important songwriters in pop history. He worked with Madonna on many of her best songs from the 1980s and 1990s, including “Like a Prayer,” “La Isla Bonita,” “Live to Tell,” “Cherish,” and “Frozen.” During a 2017 interview with Boy Culture, the songwriter said he was upset by critics who felt Madonna was not a real artist, whatever that means.

Another recent story from Inside the Magic is headlined in a way that seemingly indicates that a Frozen Land has been announced for Walt Disney World. But is it true?
No. Currently, no announcement has been made for Walt Disney World. This doesn’t mean that they won’t someday, but as of now, it isn’t true.
What we do know is that Disney has announced plans to spend $60 billion across all its theme parks over ten years. We also know that Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products, has teased a big project to be built “beyond Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.” Blue-sky images have also been shown of a retheme for the Dinoland U.S.A. area of Disney’s Animal Kingdom into a “Tropical Americas” area based on IP.

Finally! Deadpool & Wolverine are on the screen together!
The newest trailer for the Fox/MCU mashup launched today via Ryan Reynolds’ YouTube channel. With it came a lot of action featuring Wade and Logan!
There are some spoilers ahead!
As expected, the trailer emphasizes the clash between Deadpool’s fourth-wall-breaking antics and Wolverine’s somber tone. The Logan we come to know in this latest video feels much more grim than in the character’s sendoff movie from 2017.
Wade finds Logan drinking in a bar. When the Merc with a Mouth confronts the former X-Men member, it appears that Wolverine can’t fully extend his claws. Could this be a precursor to the state we found him in the previously mentioned film?
This plot teasing continues when Wade tries to talk Logan into joining the Tva mission. Apparently, Logan’s world went to Hell, and Weapon X didn’t like being reminded of that.

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ is the next big thing in the Star Wars universe. It’s the first live-action show set in the High Republic era, and it’s groundbreaking because it will portray the Jedi as the bad guys, as they are an overwhelming systemic force in that specific time period.
We’ve learned a lot about the show in the past few weeks since the trailer dropped, especially about its influences. The show was pitched as “Frozen meets Kill Bill” and it draws heavily from Samurai and Wuxia films, promising some very exciting action scenes.
Now, many fans haven’t delved into the broader Star Wars universe beyond just the live-action films and shows. Leslye Headland also explained that the High Republic books were a major influence, even adapting some characters to the big screen.

The trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ recently debuted, hinting at plenty of action, a promise echoed by creator Leslye Headland in various media appearances.
Headland described ‘Acolyte’ as a blend of ‘Frozen’ and ‘Kill Bill’, drawing influence from Wuxia and Samurai genres. The trailer showcased this fusion, and Headland emphasized how ‘Acolyte’ will depict Jedi outnumbering Sith for the first time in the franchise’s history.
Although the ‘High Republic’ books serve as the main inspiration for the show, there are also many references to the prequel and sequel trilogies. In her latest interview, Dafne Keen, set to portray Jecki Lon, assured fans that the show’s action scenes will rival some of the franchise’s most memorable moments.
Yeah, that was a very frequent conversation we had. “It was very much: We want to top the Darth Maul fight — the most iconic fight, I think, in the Star Wars cinematic universe.

Recently, the trailer for ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ was released, and it promised a lot of action, something that the creator herself, Leslye Headland promised in her many appearances across the media.
She explained that she pitched ‘Acolyte’ as ‘Frozen’ meets ‘Kill Bill’ and was heavily influenced by Wuxia films and Samurai action. The trailer already showcased plenty of that, and Headland went to great lengths to explain how ‘Acolyte’ will for the first time ever present Jedi as being vastly superior in numbers to Sith.
While the show’s primary inspiration comes from ‘High Republic’ books, there are still a lot of nods to the prequel and sequel trilogies, and in her most recent interview Dafne Keen, an actress about to portray Jecki Lon in the show promised that the show’s action sequences will top some of the most iconic moments in the history of the franchise:

Jesse Eisenberg’s latest Sasquatch Sunset audience looked a little different than your typical film screening. The actor-producer took his movie back to the source material this week, showing it to a group of bonobos at Ape Initiative in Des Moines, Iowa.
The film, released at Sundance earlier this year, features Eisenberg and co-star Riley Keough dressed in prosthetic bodysuits to portray a family of sasquatches journeying across North America. The actors attended “ape camp” to learn how to move as their primate characters for the David and Nathan Zellner written-directed film, which hit select theaters on April 12.
In People‘s footage of Eisenberg and the Zellners’ visit, several of the primates watch the film closely. “The bonobos were very curious about Sasquatch Sunset,” Dr. Jared Taglialatela, the director of Ape Initiative, and Dr. Sara Skiba, Ape Initiative’s director of communication, told the outlet. “For many of the bonobos,...

Madonna‘s album Like a Prayer was a major sea change in the Queen of Pop’s career. She never seemed more honest than when she put out that album. For example, a tune from Like a Prayer gave fans insight into her relationship with her mother. She revealed that she still spoke to her mother from beyond the grave.
Madonna dealt with family trauma on ‘Like a Prayer’
Prior to 1989, Madonna was known for boisterous dance tunes, sentimental ballads, and the occasional song about teen pregnancy. Her output got a little more personal with her 1989 album Like a Prayer. That record showed off a side of her that was more vulnerable. With the singles “Keep It Together” and “Oh Father,” the Queen of Pop gave fans insight into her feelings about her own family. Never had the Material Girl seemed more down-to-earth and human.

Madonna‘s had an impressive array of No. 1 songs, but she’s also had something rarer: an impressive array of No. 2 songs. Some of her defining hits just missed the top spot. Here’s a nostalgic look back at some of the Queen Pop’s best musical (and music video) moments.
1. ‘Material Girl’
Considering “Material Girl”‘s great new wave beat and iconic music video inspired by Marilyn Monroe’s film Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, it would have been a hit regardless of its lyrics. The song is a cute satire of Reagan-era values that’s light enough to be taken at face value. Because some listeners did take it at face value, the song has been used to paint Madonna as shallow and greedy.
The track hit No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100. While the charts are never fair, that placement feels like a real insult. After all, what song...

Though the tide of late has turned more towards a Bohemian Rhapsody-powered focus on biopics of musicians, there is always room for other entertainers with particularly compelling stories. One such example is Saturday Night Live staple-turned-film comedy actor Chris Farley, whose star burned bright before it was snuffed out decades too early by excess and addiction. Paul Walter Hauser is now attached to star as Farley in the film to be directed by actor/producer and now filmmaker Josh Gad.

A biopic about the life of the late “Saturday Night Live” star Chris Farley is in the works, IndieWire has confirmed.
Emmy-winner Paul Walter Hauser is attached to star as Farley, and Josh Gad would direct the project. “SNL” producer Lorne Michaels is producing the feature biopic via his Broadway Video production banner. Gad, the Broadway star and “Frozen” actor, would make his feature directorial debut on the film.
Right now the project is just at the package stage and being presented to interested buyers looking to make it, but it surely will be an in-demand package that could go quickly and make this movie a reality sooner rather than later. It also helps that the Farley family has given its blessing to the project.

Emmy winner Paul Walter Hauser will star in the project that has actor-filmmaker Josh Gad attached to direct. Saturday Night Live patriarch Lorne Michaels will produce via his Broadway video banner.
The screenplay will be written by sought after duo Scott Neustadter and Michael H. Weber based on the New York Times best-selling biography The Chris Farley Show: A Biography in Three Acts by Tom Farley Jr. and Tanner Colby.
The project, which is currently being pitched around town, has the blessing of the Farley family.
Farley rose to fame as a player on Saturday Night Live alongside castmembers Adam Sandler and David Spade, known for his energetic and physical performances. Famous for sketches that saw him play Bill Swerski’s Superfans (“da Bears!”), an overzealous motivational speaker (“living in...

Some of Madonna‘s biggest songs, such as “Like a Prayer” and “Ray of Light” touch on spiritual topics. Despite this, “Live to Tell” feels thoroughly secular. When asked about the song, the Queen of Pop said that she felt that she was having a supernatural experience while she was writing the tune. Shockingly, Madonna almost gave “Live to Tell” to another singer.
Madonna said ‘Live to Tell’ could be about many topics
Channeling is a paranormal phenomenon where people supposedly make contact with otherworldly beings, such as gods, angels, demons, aliens, or dead people. Many books about New Age topics are based on channeled material. While not everyone believes in channeling, the basic concept of it is similar to creativity. Artists often feel like their ideas come from another source beyond their understanding.

It’s always fun to discuss horror novels that Aren’T Stephen King. No knock on the monster from Maine, he’s the master of horror novels over the last, oh I don’t know, 50 years, for a reason but its nice to not have the show be solely dedicated to his adapted works. He says knowing that he makes the schedule and decides what books to cover. See you in May, Mr. King! Funnily enough, the man actually loved today’s subject to the degree that he called it one of 2006’s best horror novels, but more on that in a little bit. The Ruins (watch it Here) was one of those hot properties by an author whose previous work was an instant success with critics, fans, and studio executives that put it to celluloid. The book came out and just two years later we were given a movie...

A busy holdover weekend for wide studio releases was led by the trio of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Kung Fu Panda 4 and Dune: Part Two. And, in a soaring performance, Hayao Miyazaki’s Oscar winner The Boy and the Heron swooped into China helping the market set a new Qingming holiday record.
Meanwhile, Best Picture Oscar winner Oppenheimer, boosted by its release in Japan, has now become Christopher Nolan’s biggest movie ever at the international box office.
Before we dig into all of that, there was also fresh blood in some overseas areas with Disney/20th Century Studios’ The First Omen debuting to $9.1M from 43 markets (about 76% of the offshore landscape and notably not including France and Germany which go next weekend). This is about as expected. The global bow is $17.5M.
Latin America leans in on horror and the prequel performed best in Mexico where it opened No.

Some years ago, Josh Gad received an out of the blue email from Frank Miller, someone whom he had never met.
The legendary comic creator behind The Dark Knight Returns and Sin City asked Gad, the stage and screen actor who is also the voice of Olaf in Disney’s Frozen movies, if he would be interested in writing a comic book. Miller believed Gad would be good at it.
“I was petrified,” Gad tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I didn’t think I was capable of it. Conceptually, I didn’t have a way into it and make personal and create something worthy of people’s time.” He politely replied to Miller and declined his invitation.
In the intervening years, however, Gad found his voice, so to speak. Though Miller is not involved, the actor now has co-written a comic that will be published by indie powerhouse Dark Horse Comics starting June.

Woody and Buzz have a date to return to theaters. Disney will release Pixar’s Toy Story 5 on June 19, 2026, the studio announced Friday.
Disney CEO Bob Iger first announced Toy Story 5 in February 2023, with the sequel an attempt to return to form for the franchise after the disappointing performance of the 2022 spinoff, Lightyear, which voice starred Chris Evans. Toy Story has spanned four mainline films dating back to 1995, with the most recent installment topping $1 billion at the box office in 2019. The features have voice starred Tom Hanks as Woody and Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear.
Toy Story 5‘s date with theaters was among a slew of changes and additions made to the Disney release calendar. The studio also pushing Dwayne Johnson’s live-action remake of Moana by a year to July 10, 2026 (it was previously slated for from June 27, 2025). We just learned so much about Disney’s classic movie Frozen!
Believe it or not, the original blockbuster premiered in theaters more than 10 years ago. In honor of the special anniversary, Vanity Fair got the film’s stars including Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff together to look back on the start of the successful franchise.
The feature revealed a lot about how the final movie we know and love differed from the original that Disney set out to create. It featured different actresses reading for Elsa and Anna (the characters played by Idina and Kristen) and a very different plot.
We also learned that Frozen was not the first Disney movie either Idina or Kristen auditioned for. Interestingly, they were both in the running for the same part in another hit from the House of Mouse.
At the end of the interview, the cast also reflected...

A few weeks back, they released the trailer for the highly awaited ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’, giving us a glimpse of the setting and characters. Though the plot remains largely unknown, fans are thrilled that it’s set in the High Republic Era, a first for live-action.
Despite this unique backdrop, ‘The Acolyte’ is the second show to explore this era, following ‘Young Jedi Adventures’, which recently concluded. Judging from Headland’s comments, ‘Acolyte’ promises to be different from what we anticipate. She described it as a mix of ‘Frozen’ and ‘Kill Bill’, drawing inspiration from samurai and Wuxia films.
Besides the setting, what really catches attention in the show are its characters. Headland admitted that some characters are original while others, like Vernerstra Rwoh, were lifted straight from the books.
The cast for the upcoming project includes Amandla Stenberg playing Mae, a former padawan turned warrior; Lee Jung-Jae as Sol,...

Disney may have nudged Nelson Peltz farther from its board as giant BlackRock is said to be backing the company’s slate of directors. The firm is Disney’s second-largest shareholder at about 4.2%.
The news, first reported in the Wall Street Journal, followed T. Rowe Price, an 0.5% owner, coming out in support of CEO Bob Iger and Disney as shareholders head into the last day of voting ahead of the annual meeting set for Wednesday at 10 am Pt/1 pm Et. The board has over the past three months been the focus of the most expensive proxy fight on record pitting directors and CEO Bob Iger against Peltz, the billionaire activist investor who has pounded Disney on strategy, stock price and, mainly, poor succession planning.
The deadline for voting is 11:59 tonight. The WSJ said that over half of all shares had been voted so far, so things could still change.

The latest Ghostbusters movie, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, has arrived, giving audiences another chance to see the original ‘busters, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Ernie Hudson, don their paranormal-hunting jumpsuits once again. Now, in a new interview, Hudson has praised Sony for having “stepped up” with the new film, elevating it beyond some of its recent predecessors.
Specifically, Hudson referred to the Ghostbusters reboot — which re-launched the franchise in 2016 — as “disappointing.” Speaking to The Independent, he praised the film’s director Paul Feig, and described its all-female leading cast as “brilliantly funny on their own,” but overall felt that the film lacked intention.

The current proxy war at Disney has been heating up in the past few months, with more people announcing support for the side that matches with their ideas for the future of the company. While Nelson Peltz has been getting support from outsiders, many notable individuals including Abigail Disney and George Lucas announced that they supported Iger (despite both voicing their grievances with him in the past).
Now, another voice has lent their support to Bob Iger, that being actor and comedian Josh Gad. Wisecracking penguins, helpful chickens, a frozen landscape – the latest instalment of the terrible Eggs series, which is just as bad as previous ones
There’s a slim possibility that this film’s title might tempt you to imagine it is part of the same universe as Disney’s Frozen. A charming spin-off perhaps, involving a minor character on their own side-quest? It certainly won’t have crossed anyone’s minds at any stage that sleep-deprived parents desperately seeking all things Frozen-related might spot this instead and think: “It’ll do.” Unfortunately, it won’t.
This is part of the Egg Movie/Huevos franchise from Mexican studio Huevocartoon, and the plot of this latest one concerns a cute baby polar bear, stolen from his parents and his icy home by a trio of kind-of pirates-slash-circus-folk. Yesterday, I posted my Ghostbusters movies ranked list, and I was intrigued by some of the comments regarding what folks thought of the sequels and follow-ups. Interestingly, the 2016 Ghostbusters was getting a warmer reception than I thought, which got me thinking: what is the Ghostbusters movie, besides the original, that people like the most? Obviously, if I were to ask what Ghostbusters movie people like the most, they would choose the original, which is why I’m not including it here. But let’s see which follow-up people like the most. I’m very curious to see what the results are.

Will Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. return with a new series? ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
The Marvel Cinematic Universe’s series experienced initial acclaim with productions such as WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and Loki, marking a significant journey into television in recent times. However, subsequent series exhibited a rapid descent into formulaic narratives, eliciting viewer fatigue towards Disney+ offerings. A notable shift emerged with the revelation to revive cherished pre-Disney+ era shows, notably X-Men: The Animated Series and Daredevil. These continuations, as evidenced by X-Men ’97 and Daredevil: Born Again, have reignited audience interest. Consequently, there exists a palpable sense of anticipation among audiences for the potential revival of another cherished Marvel Television program, named Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Ghostbusters franchise is once again back with the sequel of the reboot that came out in 2021. The original film came out in the 80s and was not only commercially successful but critically praised. The latest film in the franchise, Frozen Empire, has yet to have a worldwide release; it premiered in New York City’s AMC theatres a few days back and came out across the USA on Friday.
The latest release stars Paul Rudd, Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, and others from 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife. The 2024 film reunites the old and the new cast. The Og characters returned for this recent film, including Bill Murray and Annie Potts. Gil Kenan directed it, which is currently the franchise’s lowest-rated film.

Thanks to a kick-butt start by "Kung Fu Panda 4" through its first two weekends, the DreamWorks franchise as a whole has passed a pretty major milestone. Across four movies, the animated franchise has now surpassed the $2 billion mark at the box office. Over 16 years and through several enemies, Jack Black's Po has endured multiple decades to help make this one of the biggest animated movie franchises of all time. Skadoosh.
"Kung Fu Panda 4" topped the charts through its first two weekends and has, thus far, taken in $187.1 million worldwide against a very reasonable $85 million production budget -- by far the cheapest entry in the series to date. That has pushed the franchise to just over $2 billion collectively. The highest-grossing entry to date remains 2011's "Kung Fu Panda 2" with $664.8 million worldwide. Interestingly, that's also the only movie of the four that didn't open atop the charts when it debuted.

‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’ has been in development for a while, and this week brought several announcements, including the release of the first public trailer. While details about the plot remain scarce, many fans are thrilled by its setting in the High Republic Era, a new territory for live-action storytelling.
Despite this unique backdrop, ‘The Acolyte’ is only the second show to explore this era, following the recently concluded ‘Young Jedi Adventures.’ Based on Headland’s remarks, ‘Acolyte’ promises to be different from expectations. She initially pitched it as a blend of ‘Frozen’ and ‘Kill Bill,’ drawing inspiration from samurai and Wuxia films.
As a devoted Star Wars fan since her teenage years, it’s understandable that she drew references and inspiration from the Star Wars Expanded Universe. One notable character was even taken from the High Republic series of books. Additionally, Headland surprised many by revealing that one of...
