I wouldn't call 'Lotgenoten' (= Dutch for 'companions who share the same fate') a great film. Therefore it shows too less real highlights. Or hardly any highlights, to put it properly.
What this very Dutch film offers you is a fluent story, that carry you on in a steady way. It doesn't bore you; on the other hand, it doesn't offer much excitement.
On its sleeve, right below the naked behind of one of its female leads, 'Lotgenoten' is advertised as a 'thriller'. A thriller? Well, sort of .... here we go again. The film offers you tense, making you curious how it'll proceed, but it never & nowhere gets spectacular.
Acting and shooting are quite in line, by the way. Not great, but good enough to entertain you throughout.
