Season 1 of All-Stars is the only drag race series to use a team format. This was changed for later seasons due to its unfairness towards the contestants.

During season 2, starting with episode 2, Alaska wore the same white jacket using black tape to create a different letter/symbol on the back. By episode 8, he had spelled out 'A-L-A-S-K-A-!', though the S was never actually seen.

Starting with Season 2, the Lip Sync For Your Life format was replaced with the Lip Sync For Your Legacy format where the top two queens of the week lip sync to choose which of the bottom two queens to eliminate.

"Team Latrila" from season one - Latrice Royale (Latrice Royale) and Manila Luzon (Manila Luzon) - are the first two contestants to have competed in more than one season; they returned in season four to compete as individual contestants. Season Five saw the return of Jujubee and Alexis Mateo, who also competed on Season One.

Chad Michaels and Alaska Thunderfuck (Justin Andrew Honard) are the only two contestants who had been runners-up in their original seasons and became All Stars winners.

Season 3 of Rupaul's Drag Race All Stars started filming in August 2017.

Up to and including season four, 40 queens have competed, most of them coming from California (13) and New York (07). Of the total, 10 were runners-up in their original seasons. BeBe Zahara Benet (Nea Marshall Kudi) was the only original season winner to return.

In season three, BenDeLaCreme (Benjamin Putnam), after a record-breaking fifth challenge win in episode 6, chose to eliminate herself. She claimed that she had already proven herself and that the crown was more important for the remaining contestants. DeLa is the only participant so far (2020) to win five challenges in a single season, win four episodes consecutively and to win the "Snatch Game" challenge on more than one season.

All Stars 4 is the first season in Drag Race Herstory to crown 2 winners: Trinity "The Tuck" Taylor (Trinity The Tuck) and Monét X Change (Kevin Bertin).

According to Trixie Mattel (Trixie Mattel) on her YouTube series UNHhhh (2015-present) had D.J. 'Shangela' Pierce been picked to lip sync in the top two of All Stars 3, her performance would have included a sledgehammer and a piñata (as the song they had to lip sync to was "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus).

In the second season, Danny Noriega (Adore Delano) chose to leave the competition, in the second episode, for personal reasons.
