Disgraced Secret Service agent (and former presidential guard) Mike Banning finds himself trapped inside the White House in the wake of a terrorist attack; using his inside knowledge, Banning works with national security to rescue the President from his kidnappers.
The intruding aircraft is a modified Lockheed AC-130, itself a modified C-130 Hercules. In the movie, the plane has two GE M134 miniguns on each side. In real life, the aircraft only has air-to-ground armament on the left side to provide close air support to ground troops, among other high-risk tasks.
You're going to seriously try to rope-a-dope me? That's an old man's move.
President Benjamin Asher: I am an old man.
Mike Banning: No, you're not. But you box like one.
A wounded soldier is in the ER. No military personnel were involved in the defense of the White House; they showed up after it has been taken.
The edited for TNT/TBS cable TV version aside from the usual language and violence edits most notably hackneys it's edit for the part where Mike (Gerard Butler) stabs Kang (Rick Yune) in the head. Instead, the viewer witnesses Mike about to stab and then it cuts straight to Kang's body ceasing to move making it unclear that Kang was stabbed let alone where.
