The Prank Panel is first and for most, very entertaining! Johnny Knoxville and Eric Andre are two of the most creative, avant-garde and explosive comedic forces of the last 30 years in my opinion and the two of them together for me is a no brainer! Why is Gabourey Sidibe in the mix? Every single episode I ask myself that question. I say this as a fan of Gabourey, I loved the coven season of AHS Sidibe was in and who can't appreciate her acting chops in Precious?! I still don't understand why Gabourey is on a panel with two of the greatest pranksters of all time. Putting Gabourey on this panel feels like shoving the wrong puzzle piece in the right place. Gabourey is an awesome actor and the Prank Panel is truly fantastic at times but the show and Sidibe are most of the time just not right together.
Eric Andre makes laugh maybe harder than anyone in the world sometimes and has good moments on The Prank Panel but is in my opinion outshined by the true master of pranks Johnny Knoxville. Anytime Johnny is heavily involved with one of the pranks it just shines so brightly and works so well. Johnny takes pea king from a fun joke thing to almost a legit art form. He really just always seems to know what to do to take things to the next level and is a true master of this craft.
Sometimes the pranks are at such a high level of intensity that I cringe to the point of hiding behind the covers like a teenage girl watching horror movies.
If you're looking for laugh out loud and easy television to watch.. this is it..! Give it a try!!

I'm not a fan of the Shark-Tank-like prank pitch setup. It feels like a painful American idol where they just make people feel bad for lame ideas. Then the setup watching the pranks in front of a live audience feels off. Without Jonny Knoxville or Eric Andre this show would be a pass for me. It doesn't seem to be either of their styles. Or at least a very watered down version.
I liked the little bit of pranks slipped in on the people pitching a joke before they pitch. It feels more organic and not so structured. It's not a 1 star terrible. . . Might be moderately entertaining for some, so 4/10.

How much did Johnny Knoxville and Eric Andre get paid to be on this? Huge fan of both guys but damn... they were just put on here for the name value. I really wanted to like it but it's just so cheesy and cliche. They had a decent budget for the pranks but I just feel like this show is super restricted by production for Johnny and Eric to really be themselves. Wondering if Johnny and Eric actually have any say in what the pranks end up being because they don't really seem to be their style. They are only there to pick which pranks are gonna be done (are they really the ones picking though?) and behind the scenes on the pranks. It's basically mtv punkd (which hasn't aged well) 20 years later but worse.
The way you guys come out at the end of the prank is a real buzzkill. You just walk out and tell the victim. That's boring. Any other idea would be better. Even if Johnny walked out and got involved in the prank would work. If the victim knows him, he will know it's a prank. If they don't know him you could just keep adding people until the person they know shows up. We need a climax. We need a great look at the realization the victim has when he understands that he has been pranked. Just the fact that the victim has to be told that it's a prank really takes away from the fun. Let them realize it themselves.
I'm seeing bad reviews here, and i've only seen the first episode but me and my brother watched it while high and we laughed our asses off, especially with the car prank. We even watched it again with our parents because they wanted to see it. The format is a little odd but I think they work with it great and I like that it was 40 minutes long. My favorite on the show is Eric Andre, but i like Johnny Knoxville as well. I did hear Eric Andre was close to quitting because Johnny was pranking him too much, so that kind of sucks on the production side of things. I don't know who Gabourey Sidibe is and to be honest i don't even know why she's here, It would've been better if her seat was filled with different guest stars throughout the season. Anyways, i think it's entertaining and can be funny!
