That guy with the horns, yeah – horns and horny ha ha .. very funny but this gag got old the first time they used it. He's a great airbrush artist this guy, can't they show how he works instead of the stupid horny jokes all the time? There's some immigrant guy with an accent that cleans the cars or whatever it is that he does, that they made fun of in one of the shows, seriously? That is so stupid, why are you trying to "dumb down" the show? It's a shame. Danny tries to be "sly" and pretend like he isn't the big boss, and instead they brought some loud mouth that is pretending to be the guy who's running things – also dumb, who's brilliant idea it was to portray this guy as obnoxious I don't know, but it's really not smart and unpleasant to watch. Why not just be more natural? This show is really interesting when the guys are respectful and show the parts with the cars, but all those silly "sub plots" that they pretend that they're real, damn that is so annoying and makes this show that could have been awesome like "Pawn Stars" to slightly higher than mediocre, because Danny is great and the cars are great, change the rest if you really want to give your audience something good to watch.

cuda196717 September 2012The production value of the show is excellent. Danny 'The Count' Koker and his crew are extremely talented and are, for the most part, fun to watch. The only caveats are 'Horny Mike' and Danny's business manager, Scott. Horny Mike's and Scott's screen time is abysmal and needs an extreme make-over. Where the heck is Ty Pennington when you need him?
I agree with previous posters: the whole 'Horny Mike' thing gets old in a hurry. All of the horns on everything from his helmets and vests, to even some bicycle he hammered together, are quite juvenile. Just a little bit of that adolescent nonsense goes a very long way. While I'm sure he's a nice guy and excellent at his craft, he just comes across on screen as the sort of not-quite-there kid you tolerated in high school shop class but never invited to the swim party because you thought he might try to eat the lawn furniture for a goof.
Scott, The Count's business manager, falls into pretty much the same category as 'Horny Mike' - great at what he does but an absolute pig on television. Whether he intends to or not, Scott comes across as a loud-mouthed boorish type who would try to out-yawp Chewbacca in normal conversation just because he can. There is nothing subtle about him. He's a middle-aged, hulking, mountain of a man with the booming voice of an air raid siren. His behavior on camera gives you the sense that he is well-aware of this fact and has probably used it to his advantage since adolescence, where, like 'Horny Mike', he seems to be permanently wedged. Another irritating facet of Scott's is that he tries desperately to 'look cool' by dressing in the same style as Danny and the rest. While it works on them, it just makes Scott look like the proverbial fat kid that never fit in on the playground and is still trying to make up for it 40 years after the fact. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't mention the disdain Scott appears to have for the shop's customers, if you can believe that. He tipped his hand in one episode during a typical interview after a scene in which a customer haggles with him and the guys for one of their creations. Scott, true to his overbearing and piggish nature, actually said to the camera, "I just wanted him to give me my money and get the f&%# out of here!" What a disgraceful old gonk. The net effect of his performance is to make me cringe and change the channel... a lot. He needs much less face time on my television.
All in all, the show is great entertainment. I predict it will be another gem in The History Channel's crown if they ever manage to sort out the 'Horny Mike and Scott' conundrum. It is definitely worth a watch. -
ccthemovieman-121 March 2015Rick Harrison, of the ultra-successful Pawn Stars TV show, would send some work to "Counts Kustoms" across town in Las Vegas. In time, Danny "The Count" Koker, the owner of the place, got his own show. The same thing happened to Rick Dale, who stars in American Restoration. Knowing the Pawn Star guys has its benefits!
In this show, you have a bunch of tough-looking, gruff-sounding bike guys who underneath are pussycats.....at least in Koker's character. Danny and his crew of Kevin, Scott, Roli, Horny Mike, Shannon and others fix up just about any kind of car you give them and transform them into an amazing-looking vehicle, whether it's a muscle car, classic car from the early years, bike or a coffin-on-wheels! You see a lot of variation of restoration projects and that keeps it interesting, along with the crew, who are fun to watch.
What's different is that these nasty-looking dudes, led by their boss, have a special heart for people who have served their country, or have been disabled, or want something as a tribute to a fallen family member. Yeah, it's very sentimental and even sappy at times...but it works. I admit there are times I have a tear in my eye at the end of these shows. I like the feel-good endings. You don't see much of that anymore on TV. -

kg_bear9 April 2017For the most part the show is a success - however there are two characters who add nothing to the overall value - Mike and Scott - both are horrible actors and their parts take away from the cars and interactions of Danny with the customers. I enjoy seeing Danny ride around and find vehicles, talk to the owners and sometimes purchase a flip - the end products of the creations are fantastic to see but the yelling of Scott and the lack of credibility of Mike take away from the entire show. I turn the sound off whenever Scott or Mike come on.

rotex2919 July 2016Great premise for a show, if there weren't throngs of other car restoration shows on TV. But this one is slightly different.
Propped up by the backdrop of glitzy Las Vegas, the show revolves around Danny Koker, a well-known Vegas personality who's business interests not only surround cars, but tattoo parlours and bars. The show is creatively scripted, as most reality shows, and contains obviously cast-ed story-lines examples being one of Koker's cast of characters restoring their own car, or taking on the teaching duties of "airbrushing" to a colleague, all to have a contest at the end to see who is the better airbrush artist. Some shows focus on a specific customer and their story, which can tug at the heartstrings and keeps it interesting. The viewer is filled in on specific facts related to the original vehicle, and is given a glimpse into how Koker and his team are going to approach each project. In the end, Koker and his team do their magic on an automobile or motorcycle raised from the scrapyard, only to bring it back to a greater glory. His work is fabulous and his attention to detail, although good, sometimes shows up on some of the smaller stuff, like headlight chrome which remains pitted and dull remaining on what is a beautifully restored auto. Could be an issue with not being able to find a 60 year old part? So I never said the show was perfect. Barring that, its an interesting watch, however too much time is spent on the story-lines in my opinion, where more could be dedicated to the intricacies of the beautiful work they do, and focusing on the difficulties of exactly how they get it done, like re- manufacturing parts where none are able to be found. Did I mention the headlight chrome? All in all, Koker is an engaging sort. He has what seems an warm TV personality, a good heart and a good soul. He helps out the Vets with doing things for no money, and takes time to look after those who have been dealt a bad hand or have an unfortunate story, which makes this totally watchable. Take a look, it will help you kill 30 minutes. -
Too many complaining about how repetitive the show is, how it's scripted, all of which I don't mind. It's a fun show to a very popular shop in Vegas. They do great work and they have there own style which obviously keeps the shop very busy. There's hundreds of other shows out there you can watch if you have any problems with this one.

I love the vibe, looks, sounds, craftsmanship of 1950's - 1960's & 1970's classic hot rods, street rods, tail-dragging low riders, and super cars. Motorcycle's are my thing too, as I own three classic's myself. I also like classic 1950's early 60's rock 'n roll, rock-a-billy, some 50's beat, and some country western too. So I think I am more or less well rounded and with that whole scene... In the beginning - I did not care one iota for Scott's obnoxious loud mouth, in your face, disrespectful attitude - so I am glad he's now history. His whole shtick was over the top. I also never cared for Horny Mike! Punk-rocker's with spiked Mohawks that are tinted green, purple, red and wear studs, horns, tattoos, facial and body piercing's, etc, turn me off. Horny Mike isn't cute or sexy - or as cool as he thinks he is. He comes off as a totally arrogant, dirty minded, mean spirited slob, with no respect for his Employer or fellow CK workers, and sasses around thinking he is some Air Brush Artist God, when he is mediocre at best. If he was as great as he brags he is, he would have been discovered as one of the great artistic talents in the USA. He has not! Danny needs to get rid of "Horny Baloney" and hire someone who can do amazing airbrushing, pin-stripping, special effects, custom paint, and also get greasy and fabricate cars too... There are so many young custom car talents longing for their big break to show what they've got - and Danny needs to do a national talent search towards that end... as well as someone less Toady looking and more intelligent acting. I understand Danny's background as the Count, his music and Band, and his Chopper Motorcycle and Groovy Van's penchant... but that that whole counter culture theme is now fast going out of style as is Danny's pony tail, ubiquitous head bandanna, and always in baggy jeans with a Levi vest and chain drive wallet. The show is now getting a little long in the tooth and needs serious updating getting away from the Dracula themes and purple velvet. I mean, The Munster's Show was over in the 1960's! I feel for Rolli. He is like an immigrant duck of out water and without a flock. His hatred of Horny is very evident too. It makes me cringe to watch Horny Mike and Rolli try to make nice - it isn't there and as viewer it feels very uncomfortable to watch. It is evident that NO ONE at CK likes Mike. Not even Danny, so why he is still there is a mystery. The Counting Cars Show is a production and it is scripted, directed and rehearsed. Nothing is spur of the moment or real time "reality". There is just too much at stake with advertisers and network ratings to allow for an embarrassing gaff. Even the car searching in the streets and asking others to pull over, is scripted and set up. Counting Car's cannot be everything all in one. Custom Cars, Choppers, Rock and Roll Bands, Tattoo Parlor, Celebrity Cameo's, and company competition of whose the coolest or rudest dude alive. The show is chasing it's tail now and it feels like it. It's run out of gas. I hope they can rescue it. Or it'll just be one more car show junked!

The show is fun ,Danny is the man he knows his cars better than anyone i know. His not a ripoff,he's more than fare at he work he does is magnificent can't say I've seen better a Scott knows his numbers Like Danny said.the rest of the guys are funny but there work is the best,they deserve to mess around a I've watched all the episodes at least twice. I don't get tiered of watching it..i don't have a car now,but I'm going to get one and its going to be from Danny here shortly I no mater what it takes, i hope he finds the car im looking for..keep doing your thing . I've seen Danny's car collection on the show,my God his cars are beautifully,magnificent I've would be in heaven if i just had one more than heaven

andrewrye-065351 December 2018I watched this for a few seasons and it really has got bad. Danny is a puffed up flabby middle aged bro who is desperately holding on to his long gone youth. Get rid of the bandana and either tone up or cover up. The gangster walk looks as stupid as the pocket chain. And no, I don't believe everyone is your 'good friend'. They all seem to be middle aged celebrities whose star has long gone. Ever notice there are no young celebrities? just aging rockers with too much money and plastic girlfriends and no taste. Overall Danny comes across as a spoiled, entitled rich kid who forgot to grow up.
I've also noticed the increase in vets getting tribute paint jobs and the overly effusive way Danny greets them. This looks to be aimed at the heart strings but after the 20th time it just cheapens the vets and I feel does a disservice as it is for the ratings not the vets.
Ryan is obviously a class act, quiet personality, quality paint jobs and a lot deeper than the rest. The trouble is that he is stuck on pin-striping. That went out in the 70s and the final products (excluding the tribute paint jobs) look dated before they leave the workshop. Ryan, you are a quality act but please update your thinking. As for Horny Mike, he's been trashed plenty by other reviews and all I can add is why is he there?
The chasing down and pulling over classic cars, knocking on doors and having a conversation about the owners cars proves this is a scripted show. If a couple of guys, dressed as they are, chased you down the road or knocked on your door wouldn't you be on the phone to the police or going straight for your gun? Calling BS on this.
It's a strained 1 from me. -
mijbril4 December 2015The cars just provide the vehicle so to speak to show you the main people that work at Counts Customs; with nearly always 2 cars / bikes per episode plus the Danny's pulling over people to ask about their cars & the shenanigans of Mike & Roli, all packed into just 20+ minutes, there's not much time to show you the build, just the receipt of the car/bike needing the improvement, the haggle on price and the delivery.
Whether it's all set up or not, Counting Cars shows Danny's real appreciation of the automobile, if Joe Public when pulled over "randomly" to talk but refuses to sell Danny their car, the excitement Danny shows that he got to talk about "Car X" with them does seem genuine.
Throw in the odd celebrity like Cassandra Peterson or Rob Zombie and you've an interesting show. But I'd love to see Elon Musk walk in with a job for them, lol.
The only off-putting part is the disdain Danny shows for Mike which is, I hope, really just put on for the show because Mike is an outstanding airbrush artist. Or if Mike is really such a goofball, then fair enough, but he'd still be my go-to guy for anything requiring customized airbrush artwork.
Finally, the show does portray Danny as a real pushover when it comes to people who have served in the military or are creating a memorial of some sort; in those instances, he doesn't deliver a car/bike, he delivers a dream. And in those moments, the shows succeeds and brings it into line with something like the UK show, Car SOS.
Hope Season 5 gets the go ahead. -

I would like to see them when they get older it's the same rant that all people who don't know about the world say. Only 1 percent know the truth and what is going on and how to do it . And Danny and counts customs have the knowledge. They are the best in thier area of work and the country . They are part of the whole group of professionals that the TV channel discovered like Rick's restoration and American pickers and the pawn shop and the whole group of top of the line workers who are a reminder of the days when America was a hard working finely tuned business In each area of expertise they do.

janmarie-520129 November 2020Of course the scenes of knocking on doors and pulling people over are scripted. My friend's uncle is the guy in the Superbird (Danny says "this thing is sick! I want this car!" His uncle is in the passenger seat)
He told me his uncle was approached by the crew before the cameras were on and told exactly what to say and do, after he signed the affidavit of course..
Ok, that said, the show itself is great! Shannon and especially Ryan are my favorites. Ryan is a God at painting, and Shannon is very knowledgeable and great at restoring bikes. I'm glad Shannon doesn't use his name or family heritage as a means of being famous. (He's the nephew of the late Eddie Aikau)
I'm still watching the new season of this great show. Hoping it keeps going! -

vkumarster21 September 2022Counting Cars is of the Reality TV genre, featuring Danny Koker and his crew of 5-6 body painting enthusiasts. In India we are lucky to watch the episodes on History channel every Monday-Friday 6.00 p.m. - 6.30 p.m. Danny has some great, creative people working for him including Ryan, who is mainly the artist, Big, Kevin, Scott Jones, and a 5-6 others. Whether its a well-maintained Ford-T, or a Mustang, a Cadillac, or El Dorado, a Toyota or Nissan, or any other vehicle, Danny and hard working crew can restore almost any vehicle how so ever old, derelict, rusted or useless it might be and make them almost new, of course , for a price. Worth watching.

cantstandya1329 June 2019Used to be able to tolerate the shows as some projects weren't bad,but,its become a complete parody of an apparent car show.The two dimwits horny mike & whatever the other guys name just dumb everything down beyond belief,& danny trying ever too hard to sound all cool & the man thing has worn way thin.Also the projects have just turned so silly childish even,it's gone from actually seeing parts of a build to just seeing finished item while they stand around it blubbering & making stupid lame jokes.And why do you say 'I always go all out' when you're always actually lowballing everyone

13Funbags1 September 2017I will never understand why TV executives think that making fake reality shows is a good thing.Why even pretend it's real?Do they think that little of their viewers intelligence?Obviously, yes.They couldn't have found a lamer person to put on a TV show.Danny Koker used to be the host of one of those stupid Saturday night shows where they would play terrible old movies.He even had a stupid name, Count Cool Rider.It's clear he didn't make his millions from there, he must have inherited it.It's also obvious he didn't get rich from playing his terrible music.He's clearly another spoiled rich kid who bought a club so his talent-less band could have a place to play.Anyway, this show started out partially real but the History channel couldn't stand that so they had to ramp up the fakeness.It didn't get really bad until the season where they pretended that a bunch of semi-celebrities were their customers.It was the same thing that terrible pawn shop show did with one big difference, the pawn show was able to get people who were really famous while Counting Cars had to settle for people who were only famous because of who they were related to(Ziggy Marley, Barry White's wife, etc).After that season they went with a fully scripted show that is not entertaining at all.We live in a sad world when shows like this are not only popular but also on the "History" channel.Let's hope this gets cancelled soon.

Wasup with Bret michaels wannabe lookalike?? Also the guy with the lame spike hair?? Lame show seriously... Who drives around pulling people over and asking them to sell you their cars?? Why is it that all these fake ass shows never have a dissatisfied customer?? Why, CUZ ITS FAKE PEOPLE!!! Wake up.. Also most of these fake ass shows are in Vegas.. Just like pawn stars. Talk About lame show.. Yet people continue watching them cuz I guess they have nothing better to do?? These shows are so fake that they are annoying. I wish they come up with better shows for once..

Parts of the show that irritate me include Danny calling strangers "Brother" which, in the real world, doesn't happen Call the wrong person "Brother" such as a 1% biker will, at the least, get you a stomping. Also, you never see anybody actually doing anything! You're lucky if you see sparks from a hand grinder which probably is a piece of scrap metal anyway. You know, sparks for effect. What's with everything job having a time limit? In reality, the work being done on most of these vehicles would take months to complete, if not years. Danny seems kind of annoying and Horny Mike is just a showboating pain in the rear. Some of the antics of these employees would get them fired if it were a real business. Have a vehicle needing customized? Don't call these clowns. Why? The place is fake and nobody will return your calls if you manage to get through. I've heard of one guy who did get through and he was rudely told by some chick: "You couldn't afford us anyway." Nice...

Further research showed that if you call the business, you get an answering machine. Leaving messages does no good. They're never returned. Many potential customers have called wanting work done on their vehicles. Calls are never returned. Quite the business, eh?! It's all put on by The History Channel. That's who pays the wages at this clown show. Why must every employee have some sort of weird trait? You know, sleeved-out tattoos, "horny" stuff glued to their heads and vehicles, "punk" hairdos, assorted facial hair tied in knots and "stuff"? Every employee has to have a "gimmick". The "Count" for example: What's the deal with the bandanna around most of his head? What does it do? Nothing. Part of the act, that's all. Viewers think: "Man, he's a real 'biker'!" I guess. Also, if the show is not "fake", why at least 48 "producers"? If the show were real with real employees and real customers, the filming crew would be all that would be required. "Producers" make the show. That means, without the producers, there's be no "Counts Kustoms". I've read that you can buy a T-shirt there for 45 bucks. Hmmm. Anyway, I guess if the gullible viewers think the place is real, that's all that matters. Me? I'd be embarrassed to admit I worked there! The History Channel makes the place into a Freak Show.

benchseat9 July 2018The show was OK at best but has reached the point of being unwatchable. The whiny crew and created drama ruin what could have been a decent product. Watching them complain about the build time and supposed blunders got old really fast. If I had a crew that bitched as much as his do I would have fired them years ago and hired some professionals. Fast N' Loud and Misfit Garage are the same. Lame ass shows that had some excellent potential.

The show is good and shows an amazing business. If you are a car kinda person or not this show is for you. I would give it a 9 out of 10 but the shows biggest draw back is his Business manager named Scott comes on the show and he seems like a huge obnoxious loud mouth idiot. Listening to his mouth is like nails down a chalk board. then there is this other schmuck named "horny Mike" who seems like a total tool loser trying to be so cool. The show could really do just fine and much better if we didn't need to hear from these two. Sometimes its so bad the show is barely tolerable .Sorry but the show loses a point each because of this.
