Rex (Wallace Shawn) is ridiculed by the other toys as "Partypooper Rex". Bonnie takes Rex for the unenviable bath time. For a short time, the bath toys enjoy the party until the water is drained out of the tub. As the only one with arms, Rex is able to turn the water back on and start up the party once again. He proclaims himself as "Partysaurus Rex". Only it becomes more and more difficult to stop once the tap is turned on.

Toy Story is one of the best franchises around. It's a milestone in cinematic animation. The characters are iconic. Rex is a supporting comedic character. In this short, he is the lead and it introduces a whole new slate of wonderful characters. It's fun. Like any great party, one can't help but have fun. When the music starts and the party lights go on, heads start bopping and mouths start smiling. It's infectious. This is simply fun. Like the water, it's hard to stop once it starts. It also has a great button to the comedy. It's an overall great Pixar short.
  • Rex proves that he is one of the most underrated characters in Toy Story franchise. It is a cute party film. Enjoy it!
  • Love Pixar, feature films, really like to love most of their feature films, and short films, don't dislike any of their shorts. Their best are masterpieces and even lesser efforts, my least favourite overall being 'Cars 3', are never below mediocre and have at least four good things (best asset being the animation). Consider all three 'Toy Story' films among their best, while the first is one of their most overall ground-breaking my personal favourite and the one that connected with me the most was the third.

All three Toy Story Toons television shorts are well worth watching. Of the three, personally put 'Partysaurus Rex' in the middle. The best being 'Hawaiian Vacation' and the weakest 'Small Fry'. None of the three are on the same level as the feature films, understandable as the budget was lower and there were tighter time constraints. For anybody that loved the first 'Toy Story' film and its sequels, the three Toy Story Toons shorts are well worth watching and more and are pretty darn impressive for television short films.

Would have liked a longer length and the pace occasionally could have tightened.

However, continue to have no qualms at all with the animation and actually consider it the best looking of the three short films. . Such beautiful attention to detail in the backgrounds and the character designs and the colours are so vibrant. The music more than serves its purpose well, with the right amount of energy and charming orchestration.

From beginning to end the writing excels, with some wonderfully witty dialogue from especially Rex, and all the numerous gags hit the mark. This is one colourful party that one would be more than to be invited to with no regrets. Rex is a more than compelling as a lead character and is as just as strong in a more prominent as he is a scene-stealing supporting role. Loved the voice acting again, Wallace Shawn taking top honours this time.

    Altogether, very well done. 8/10
  • So it seems that when Rex is with his regular Toy Story pals, he's often dismissed as a party pooper. So when his little girl new owner has to take a bath, she takes the dinosaur toy with her and he suddenly takes a new attitude. I'll stop there and just say this was quite another fun short from Pixar that brought a new take on one of the classic Toy Story characters which Rex's voice Wallace Shawn benefits from immensely. Certainly, those new bath toy friends certainly like him enough when he keeps the water flowing. Like just when things seem headed for something one way, an unexpected turn always comes. Really, all I'll say now is Partysaurus Rex was a fine short to watch before the 3-D re-release of Finding Nemo.

This animated short film tells the story of Rex who accidentally messes up his friend's party. He gets called "Party Pooper Rex" soon afterwards. Hence, he decides to become "Partysaurus Rex".

The story is very simple, but it is really fun. The music is energetic and uplifting, the lights are psychedelic and there is even foam! The bathtub party is so epic that I wish I was there. Now I need to watch a film about epic parties of mega proportions!

    Warning: Spoilers
Partysaurus Rex is legendary. It was so colorful and upbeat, and moves along at a breakneck pace. There is a party in the bathtub, and Rex is the star. See this movie.
  • One other good Pixar's short movie from Toy Story. It's enjoyable.
  • Warning: Spoilers
Not the my usual kind of favourite short and yet this is my favourite of the three toy story toons. Definitely the best purely because it is action packed, Rex, a character with usually precious little to do becomes very popular with the bathroom toys.
  • "Toy Story" has recently spawned several short films and I have enjoyed them all. While "Partysaurus Rex" is gorgeously animated (probably better than the previous ones), the story is paper-thin. This is not to say it's not enjoyable--but it certainly is not a must-see.

The film, not surprisingly, is about Rex. He's one of many toys that Bonnie loves to play with in the tub. And, after Bonnie leaves, the toys all come to life and party. And, the leader of this group of toys is Rex.

The biggest worry in this little film? How will Rex turn off the water so the place isn't flooded! Not much of a conflict. But the characters are cute, the CGI is great and kids will no doubt love it. For adults, however, it's just a trifle.

I love toy story and when I saw this short film PartySaurus Rex I enjoyed it so much because it was funny and something everyone would enjoy.
  • This is the most kid-only film in the Toy Story series. It is an extended gag about Rex's arms and something of a toy music video. It is fun and charming like all Pixar films but it is worth only watching once.
  • Third short related to Toy Story 3, released before the exhibition of Finding Nemo 3D, shows how Rex, sometimes, ends up being inconvenient with his friends for being a little clumsy due to his size. But when he is forgotten in the bathtub by Bonnie, he discovers a possibility of social integration with his new friends.

Despite not being my favorite animation, there is a whole affective memory around this animation, always cute, reminding me when I go to bathe children not to take a bunch of toys to the bathroom, much less leave them there alone after the bath , hehehe, very funny and funny...

Partysaurus Rex is a 3D Toy Story short which precedes the 3D reworking of Finding Nemo. In it, the chronically anxious plastic dinosaur Rex (voiced by Wallace Shawn), dismissed as a party pooper by those toys who have known him for ever, accidentally finds himself transformed into a party animal by the bathtime toys. Colourful chaos ensues.

Much as I love Pixar and the Toy Story franchise, this is particularly slight stuff. There is little story, the gags are OK but not great, and the 3D is not wonderful. Don't get me wrong: it's OK - it's very bright and colourful and, as expected, great to look at - but the Toy Story people have done much better.

I don't know what it is, but as much as I enjoy these full feature "Toy Story" films, as little I think of the many animated short films they added to the franchise. Basically all of the supporting characters got their own big moment. This one here has Rex in its center and after being called a party pooper, he starts a huge party in the bathtub with a new bunch of friends. That's basically all there is to it. There is no heart in this short film, no real emotion and the fun basically all refers to the bathtub being turned into a gigantic discotheque. The new characters are okay to watch, but not too memorable. Also we don't really find out a lot about them. The writer and director is Mark A. Walsh and even if he worked on several other famous films again, this is his first job in both areas. Maybe a bit more experienced filmmaker would not have hurt. This short film is entertaining on just not enough occasions, so I cannot really recommend watching it. I really hope that "Toy Story 4" (guess it's coming at some point) will be as good as the feature films again and not as mediocre as the short movies.
  • When Rex gets taken from the bedroom into the bathroom for playtime he finds himself with a whole new group of friends. The bath toy's only problem is that they need water to move around, so when bath-time is over, so is party time. Keen to shake off his party-pooper image that he has with his regular group, Rex embraces his inner party-saurus even though it is not really his nature.

This short film is a very basic affair – the plot is simple, the gags are mostly sight-gags and it is very short. So in that regard it is not really anywhere near the standard of the full films but at the same time it is colorful and quite fun in what it does well. The sense of energy and fun in the bath is quite infectious and, although it wasn't hilariously funny, it did have nice characters and I enjoyed it. The content is below the standard expected but the delivery isn't – with the animation and sense of humor still working and this is more or less enough to carry the lesser material. Best for kids, but it has enough going on to be amusing to the casual viewer.

Toy Story 3 was a wonderful film, serving as a more satisfying for this iconic Pixar series.

The three Toy Story toons shorts (And the Toy Story That Time Forgot and Toy Story of Terror! Specials as well) served as an amusing addition to that emotional finale, showing the adventures of Woody and the other toys in their new home.

Partysaurus Rex was a cute mini addition to the series, giving the spotlight to one of the most adorable Toy Story characters in a charming vignette.

A shame Toy Story 4 had to ruin the perfection of that ending. I mean, it wasn't a bad film, but it was nowhere as good as the third part. In addition to that, the writers has put themselves in a corner by removing Woody from the main cast at the end. And it also gave a rather unconvincing characterization to Bonnie, turning her from a very likeable character into an unlikeable one.

I honestly don't know what to expect from the announced fifth part. I really hope the original cast isn't replaced, but nowadays Disney seems to be keen to doing the worse creative decisions in the name of outrage marketing.

I can understand why they still want to milk this franchise, but I personally think is time to give it a rest, at least for a while. Small short spinoffs are fine, however.

This is a very very slight 'Toy Story Toon', this time focusing on Rex trying not to be a party pooper, and then realising that actually peer pressure isn't great.

It's amiable enough, there are some nice moments, but as I said, this is a very thin story that feels stretched at only 7 mins.

Rex has a reputation with the rest of the toys has a party pooper.

When he is taken to the bath and left behind in the bathroom with the other bath toys. Rex sees an opportunity to flip his reputation to that of Partysaurus Rex.

As the other bath toys do not have limbs, Rex turns the water back on and foams it up while the rest party to the beat until it all overflows.

A nice funky beat and with neon visuals make this an enjoyable toy toon short.
