The Alberta tar sands have horrible environmental implications on the planet and are shown in Rob Stewart's new full-length feature film Revolution where he examines the environmental impact of the tar sands.

The tar sands are also destroying the habitat of the Canadian Lynx, whose life cycle could be a warning for our own species.

This is a 1500 year-old Baobab tree in Madagascar, a relic of what the ancient forests in this location used to look like. Due to deforestation Madagascar has lost the majority of its forests. Over 22 million people live in Madagascar, one of the poorest countries in the world. Deforestation is a huge issue because people see cutting down and burning forests as their only option.
