They say behind every good Avenger is a lifelong partner who's okay with them heading off to save the world from Norse gods, angry robots, or glove-obsessed purple tyrants. In the case of Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye, that person is his devoted wife and mother to his three children, Laura Barton. Sticking with the avenging archer through thick and thin and sharing a love so strong Clint crossed time and space to bring it back, it's safe to say that Laura Barton truly was one of the good ones. But just what is her history in the MCU, and how much of it comes from the comics?
It turns out Laura Barton's history is as surprising as her entrance into the world of super soldiers and iron men. It's a past that, while simple for casual viewers, actually gets a bit more confusing the deeper you dive into this franchise that's spanned over 17 years.

The Buffy the Vampire Slayerrevival series is already progressing quickly. After the original show ended in 2003, the Buffy franchise remained alive thanks to a series of comic books, merchandising efforts, books, and games. While the original is somewhat controversial, due to allegations against creator Joss Whedon's on-set behavior, there have been ongoing rumors about a revival for years. Buffy star Sarah Michelle Gellar officially signed on to the show recently and is hard at work on a sequel.
In an interview with People, Sarah Michelle Gellar explained that "things are progressing probably faster" than she expected. While she admits that the show is still early in its development, she is particularly proud of the new crew. She specifically named executive Gail Berman, writers Nora (Fringe) and Lilla Zuckerman (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), and director Chloé Zhao (Eternals) as standouts in the production process. Check out her quote below:

For years, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has enthralled audiences around the world on the big screen. But in recent years, it has taken the adventures to the small one too, entertaining us from the comfort of our own homes with cutting edge adventures that are still worthy of the biggest screen imaginable.
With the launch of the Disney Plus streaming service back in 2019, major franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney itself were able to produce multi-episode adventures to appeal to both the established audience of each brand and new viewers along the way. It was a new way of reaching people - or, rather, an old way of reaching people via a new method.
This isn't the first time that Marvel has turned to television, with various iconic shows over the years on both network TV in the US and Netflix around the world, but the new shows are...

With Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars fast approaching, rumours continue to swirl about the characters we'll see in those movies. Both are expected to feature Multiversal Variants, opening the door to countless cameos and surprise returns.
SXSW took place this past weekend and several Marvel actors were on hand for the event. Understandably, the topic of their respective MCU futures came up during interviews, starting with Deadpool 2 star Zazie Beetz.
She played Domino in the 2018 movie and her take on the mutant was a hit with fans. Despite that, like Cable, she was nowhere to be found in last summer's Deadpool & Wolverine.
Talking to Screen Rant, Beetz confirmed she's heard nothing from Marvel Studios about reprising the role. "I haven't had any talks with Marvel, but I talk about it to myself," she revealed with a laugh. "So, I don't know. I'd have to find a writer and do all that work,...

As a former star of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., actor Gabriel Luna is known in part for his role as the Robbie Reyes incarnation of Ghost Rider. Though the series ended in 2017, Luna is keeping the door open for a potential return, given how the expansion of the McU's multiverse makes it more possible than ever before.
At the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival, Luna and The Astronuat co-star Kate Mara spoke with Grae Drake of Cbr to promote the premiere of their new film. Their past superhero roles were discussed, given how Mara also played Sue Storm in 2015's Fantastic Four movie. Luna noted how he "enjoyed" the time he spent playing Ghost Rider, but when it came to possibly revisiting the role, he always fell back on a "stock answer" about just appreciating the work he did in the past. With that said, he's making it clear he's open to revisiting Robbie Reyes.

New Girl's Hannah Simone has given fans a look at what could have been in a series of photos that showcase her superhero costume in the planned reboot of The Greatest American Hero. The Greatest American Hero was a superhero comedy series that aired on ABC from 1981 to 1983 and starred William Katt as the titular character, a school teacher given a super suit by an alien race that he must learn how to use in trial by error due to having lost the instruction manual. In 2017, plans for a reboot of The Greatest American Hero were announced with Hannah Simone, hot off New Girl concluding its run, set to star. Sadly, the network passed on the pilot.
Now, nearly eight years later, Simone took to Instagram to show fans the super suit for The Greatest American Hero. In contrast to the original costume, which was a onesie spandex look...

It is highly likely that the trailer for the scrapped live-action adaptation ofPowerpuff Girls, called Powerpuff, has reached your desk. While technically not an official trailer ever intended to be released to the public, the existing footage from the planned series was stitched together into a trailer that showcased what might have been...and it was something. The idea of a live-action Powerpuff Girls series following the trio as they've grown up and reunited in their early 30s sounds like a joke premise, and the footage shown off features green screen compositing that looks straight out of a Funny or Die sketch.
Initially announced in 2020, Powerpuff's strange premise and the news that Academy Award winner Diablo Cody would write it certainly raised a few eyebrows but led to some curiosity about what might have been the most high-profile pilot that season. Despite an impressive cast that included Chloe Bennett (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) as Blossom,...

There's an interesting parallel between 1997's "Batman & Robin" and 2002's "Die Another Day." The former almost killed off the Batman cinematic saga before it had even existed for more than a decade, while Pierce Brosnan's swan song as James Bond almost put an end to what had been, ever since 1962's "Dr. No," cinema's most enduring franchise. Then, in 2005, Batman got what became known as a "gritty reboot," with Christopher Nolan reinventing the iconic hero for his "Batman Begins" origin story. The following year, Bond would get the same treatment, with what remains the best Bond movie ever made: "Casino Royale."
Both movies turned around flailing franchises, and both movies took a more grounded approach to their protagonist, ditching much of the traditions that had come to define both franchises in order to introduce something truly fresh. In 007's case, Daniel Craig gave us all a version...

Daredevil: Born Againis right around the corner, and Marvel Studios are heavily leaning into the notion that this is a new era for Marvel Television. Previously, Marvel fans have seen that the Disney+ streaming shows are treated more like special event viewing, with limited runs, single-season plans, and movie-based setups. These shows were designed to be treated like an elongated film, without all the trademarks of the format that had been previously seen in the Netflix era, and in ABC shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Daredevil: Born Again, by comparison, is scheduled to run for 9 episodes, which is already longer than many of its predecessors. What's more, the series is set to be a follow-up to Netflix's Defenders era, which indicates that Marvel is really leaning into its vault to flesh out the street-level universe that the show will be operating in.

Facts about Marvel’s Daredevil: In the sprawling tapestry of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a universe built on the grandeur of cosmic battles and the spectacle of superheroic feats, a darker, grittier corner emerged in 2015. It was a corner defined by the rain-soaked streets of Hell’s Kitchen, the visceral brutality of hand-to-hand combat, and the moral complexities of a blind lawyer turned vigilante. This was the world of “Daredevil,” a Netflix series that, far from being a mere footnote in the MCU’s grand narrative, served as a crucial catalyst, a bold experiment that redefined the boundaries of superhero storytelling and, in turn, profoundly influenced the MCU’s trajectory.
Before the sprawling, interconnected saga of the MCU became synonymous with cinematic blockbusters, “Daredevil” offered a starkly different vision. It was a plunge into the shadows, a deliberate departure from the vibrant, often lighthearted tone that had become the...

Rob Liefeld, the co-creator of Deadpool, has once again aimed at Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige. Liefeld, who has publicly distanced himself from Marvel over the years, believed that Feige’s reign as the producer of Marvel Studios should come to an end.

Marvel continues to evolve plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the TV show Moon Knight has now been cancelled.
Marvel Studios is in the middle of a pivot for its ongoing Marvel Cinematic Universe, and while subtly changing the direction of something so large and lumbering takes time, there are occasional markers laid down that give us a clear sense of where things are heading.
One such marker is today’s announcement from Marvel Television executive Brad Winderbaum, stating that Moon Knight won’t be getting a second season.
Prior to the release of WandaVision in 2021, Marvel television was ostensibly part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe but any links to the wider series of films were usually pretty spurious. Programmes like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Netflix shows such as Daredevil and Jessica Jones rarely featured much in the way of tie-in material apart from the odd reference to events in the films,...

Tumbleweeds dance across desert sands. The night is cold, colder by the hour. The lizards have dug into the sand. Roadrunners have found their brushes to sleep in. Danger lurks in the air, hiding in the open darkness.
A congress of bandits celebrates their latest thefts. They joke about the lives taken by their bullets. These godless, immoral thieves of the night eat well as they stoke the scullery fire. A presence not of this world approaches, they do not know him. They have heard the legends.
See him. Leather and chains and a skull on fire. His motorcycle’s hum dies down. The light from his head. The smell of sulfur. They fear not their fellow man, but they fear the Spirit of Vengeance.
They scramble, each man and woman fleeing. All that expanse of land and nowhere to go. They do not get far. He brandishes a chain...

The sci-fi and fantasy TV world always seems on a paradoxical precipice: Too many good shows get canceled, yet too many keep returning to television. Not that we’re complaining about the latter.
Several long-awaited shows from some of the biggest franchises around, including Marvel, Star Wars, Doctor Who, and The Walking Dead, will return in 2025. Given that most TV shows take a year or longer at least to release the next season, it can be hard to keep track of where we left off in the story. And without catching up with the previous seasons, one could unintentionally commit what is considered in the sci-fi or fantasy community the ultimate blunder: not understanding the references or Easter eggs.
The following are some of the most exciting genre TV shows dropping their next seasons this year. In addition to the ones listed below, Severance (Prime Video), Invincible (Prime Video) and...

Clark Gregg has long been a favorite for his role as Agent Phil Coulson among the MCU fans. His character helped launch the Marvel Cinematic Universe and played a key part when the Avengers came together. When Loki (Tom Hiddleston) “killed” Coulson in The Avengers, many of us were upset, only to be relieved when Coulson returned in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
While working on his new political thriller Zero Day for Netflix, Gregg got to meet another Marvel icon—Angela Bassett, known as the Queen of Wakanda. At the New York premiere for Zero Day he shared his excitement over Anthony Mackie stepping into the role of Captain America in ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ and his pleasure at watching new talent rise in the Marvel world. Yet, he also mentioned a personal regret about his Marvel journey.

Fans are undoubtedly upset with how Kevin Feige did the MCU star Clark Gregg dirty by bringing him back in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and yet refraining from turning the show into a Marvel canon. But if you ask Gregg about his biggest regret surrounding Marvel, the actor would grind his teeth and blame Tom Hiddleston for stabbing him before he could fulfill his dream.

The dream you ask? Well, speaking with Collider, Clark Gregg reflected on his desire to meet the Queen of Wakanda played by Angela Bassett, while working under the Marvel banner. Unfortunately, as Tom Hiddleston’s Loki killed him in The Avengers, Gregg couldn’t fulfill his dream, until a non-Marvel show Zero Day united him with Bassett.

It feels sacrilegious to imagine the development of any James Bond film without ambassadors Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli at the helm, but as of today, the future of James Bond has been placed solely within the oversight of Amazon MGM Studios. There are a whole number of consequences that come with this decision. It ensures that there will be another Bond film down the line, sooner than later probably, but at the same time, it will be one whose creative decisions will likely be made based on algorithmic trends instead of being filtered through the interests and taste of people who have shepherded these movies for decades. What's even worse is now that 007 is fully under Amazon's control, that means there's no more holdouts on the prospects of greenlighting spin-offs galore.

“Reacher” is back.
Based on the book series by Lee Child, the Prime Video series once again finds our titular hero (Alan Ritchson) getting off the bus and getting into trouble. This time he is in Maine, recruited by local DEA agents looking to bust a bad guy – and get back an informant who has gone missing. And wouldn’t you know it, this seemingly random encounter ties back to a case from Reacher’s past?
If you want to know more about this season, we will happily delve deep into the colorful cast of Season 3 characters.

Clark Greggis an icon for many reasons, one being playing Agent Phil Coulson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The beloved actor and character kicked off the franchise and played an important role in the founding of the Avengers. When he was "killed" off by Loki (Tom Hiddleston) in The Avengers, fans mourned him. Until he was brought back (alive) in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. While fans wish for more Coulson in the films and shows on Disney+, that hasn't happened yet, but Gregg did get to meet a fellow Marvel legend while making his new show Zero Day when he finally met the Queen of Wakanda herself: Angela Bassett.

Could the return of Daredevil lead to a revival of The Defenders? Marvel and Disney seem to think so!
Fans of Disney+ and Marvel are eagerly awaiting the debut of Daredevil: Born Again. The new Disney+ series is a sequel to the Netflix show with Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, the blind lawyer whose special abilities allow him to be the costumed crime fighter Daredevil.
The show brings back the rest of the cast, notably Vincent D'onofrio as Wilson Fisk aka the Kingpin. It will also have Jon Bernthal reprise his role as Frank Castle, better known as the brutal vigilante the Punisher, who he played in a Netflix spinoff.
With fans happy to see Daredevil back, there's a question if the other Marvel Netflix series could return. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Marvel's head of streaming, television, and animation, Brad Winderbaum, confirmed, "We are very much exploring" that possibility.

The year was 1965, and the world had gone gaga for ultra-lethal secret agents. This craze had its roots in the 1953 publication of Ian Fleming's first James Bond novel, "Casino Royale," which of course set in motion a literary phenomenon that exploded onto the big-screen with 1962's "Dr. No." At the height of the Cold War, Bond exuded a reassuring air of insouciant lethality; he could kill an adversary just as easily as he could light a cigarette, and he looked so very suave while doing either. He was a man's man, a fashion plate and figure of patriotic hope at a time when the fate of the free world hung in the balance between two diametrically opposed superpowers.
The runaway box office success of "Dr. No" and "From Russia with Love" sent rival studios and television networks scrambling to figure out how to capitalize on the public's fervent fascination...

Titus Welliver has already built an incredibly successful and respectable career. Looking across his filmography, it's obvious that the actor has managed to set himself apart as a nuanced character performer, who can flesh out any series. While comic book fans may recognize him from his MCU role as Felix Blake, a S.H.I.E.L.D. operative who appeared in Item 47 and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the actor has also starred in several recognizable roles. Lost, Argo, Sons of Anarchy, Castlevania and Shaft all appear on his CV, and Welliver clearly isn't afraid of collaborating with major franchises like Star Wars, due to his small role in The Mandalorian. However, a career is so much more than the names of titles, and Titus Welliver has developed a reputation for always shining, regardless of the depth of the character he is given.

Over the nearly two decades that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has dominated box offices and audience attention, the franchise has guided viewers through an interconnected web of stories previously unheard of in blockbuster cinema. With the franchise now featuring more than 20 films and numerous television series, many iconic characters from the Marvel Comics canon have graced the screen.
With dozens of new characters being constantly introduced into the franchise, some characters do need to bid the long-running saga of films farewell. Some of the best characters that the MCU introduced have had to leave the franchise one way or another, and some of their exits have resulted in many of the saddest moments in the history of the series.

Netflix’s “The Witcher” puts its spin on “The Little Mermaid” in “The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep.” Set during the events of Season 1, the new animated film adapts from Andrzej Sapkowski’s short story “A Little Sacrifice” (which was itself inspired by the classic fairytale).
The film follows Geralt and Jaskier to a seaside town to investigate attacks, only to wind up in the middle of a long-brewing conflict between the humans and merpeople before it turns into all-out war. The adaptation brings some of its own spin to the tale, featuring voices that “Witcher” fans will recognize from the games and live-action series alike — as well as some newcomers.

Nicolas Cage played Ghost Rider in two disappointing Sony Pictures movies. When the sequel bombed, the rights to the character reverted to Marvel Studios and that's where he's remained ever since.
As we write this, rumours are swirling about the Spirit of Vengeance appearing in Avengers: Doomsday and/or Spider-Man 4. There's also been chatter of a solo movie or TV series, suggesting there are finally firm plans for the anti-hero after Robbie Reyes' brief stint in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
In this feature, we've selected six actors we think would be a good pick to bring Johnny Blaze to life on screen in the MCU. Hopefully, you'll find these names a refreshing change of pace from the usual suspects who crop up online.
