Adele is one of the most accomplished singers of her generation. In addition to being one of the world's best-selling musicians, she's won 16 Grammys, 18 Billboard Music Awards, 12 Brit Awards, five American Music Awards, and among her other accolades, her "Skyfall" theme got James Bond an Oscar.
James Bond movies have followed a winning formula that's kept 007 on movie screens for 60+ plus years, and that formula follows a few trademarks: Beautiful women, super-villain lairs with death traps, lots of guns, terrible puns, etc. Before the adventure truly kicks off, though, Bond films must have a lavish title sequence with a custom-composed song.
The first two Bond films, "Dr. No" and "From Russia With Love," actually used instrumental openings. Then for the third (and some say best) Bond film, "Goldfinger," the theme song had lyrics -- written by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse, and sung by Shirley Bassey. "Goldfinger" the song is...

Stick To Your Guns have been one of the most influential names in hardcore since the early 2000s. Album after album, EP after EP, the band has a magical ability to make you think with their lyrics and make you mosh with their music. This is also true of their latest release, Keep Planting Flowers , which is out this Friday, January 10th. I chatted with guitarist Josh James about their recent visit to our headquarters, getting the “band back” and the parallels between anime and hardcore. You've been out on the road and you just released your latest full length album, Keep Planting Flowers . What was the process of recording that like? Is there anything different you did this time around? Josh James : There wasn't necessarily anything different as far as the recording process goes. But I think that writing the entire album, it was pressureless. Because at the time,...

The box office got off to a relatively quiet start in 2025. "Mufasa: The Lion King" topped the charts in its third weekend of release, triumphing over "Sonic the Hedgehog 3," as the two have been duking it out for supremacy ever since they hit theaters in mid-December. Setting aside the bizarre conspiracy theory that recently emerged over this box office battle, "Mufasa" won the day. However, it's Paramount Pictures that now gets to celebrate as the "Sonic" franchise passed a major milestone.
With "Sonic the Hedgehog 3" adding another $21.2 million in its third weekend of release, in addition to posting strong numbers overseas, its running total stands at $336.2 million worldwide as of this writing. Combined with the grosses from both 2020's "Sonic the Hedgehog" ($319.7 million worldwide) and 2022's "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" ($405.1 million worldwide), the films have now collectively earned $1.06 billion worldwide.

There are many things that DC Comics fans are longing for, but a third Injustice video game is definitely on that list. It's something we've been discussing since completing Injustice 2 and, with that having come out in 2017, it's been some time indeed.
With that in mind, let's do some more theorizing, this time about which characters could appear in Injustice 3 if it happens. To be honest, there are so many DC characters that haven't been used in the Injustice games that it would be impossible to list them all, so let's look at some of the ones that I want to see the most and the ones that fans have been clamoring over for years.

The last James Bond movie at the time of writing, Cary Joji Fukunaga's "No Time To Die," was released in 2021, a full six years after its predecessor "Spectre." "No Time to Die" was announced as the fifth and final James Bond movie to star Daniel Craig in the role, and the filmmakers became bold, killing Craig's Bond for good at the end. And it wasn't ambiguous; Bond was killed by multiple missiles, clearly being reduced to shreds of carbon. Most James Bond movies have a notice in the credits that "James Bond Will Return," but it seemed less likely this time.

Pierce Brosnan exited the role of James Bond after Die Another Day to pave the way for Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. The British actor had been trying out a variety of roles in his career up until that point and revealed that he almost turned down the offer. Craig feared that he would be stuck playing Bond forever. His initial decision almost seems insane, now that he earned $82.4 million for the role.

Although Daniel Craig couldn’t care less about the next James Bond actor, Gemma Arterton just hopes the franchise doesn’t stray too far from its source material.

In the "Star Trek" episode "Spectre of the Gun", the U.S.S. Enterprise is ordered to the planet Melkot to make contact with the reclusive, xenophobic species that lives there. The Melkotians are small, floating heads with powerful psychic abilities, and an unhealthy, angry suspicion of outsiders. When Kirk (William Shatner), Spock (Leonard Nimoy), Chekov (Walter Koenig), and Scotty (James Doohan) beam down to the surface, a Melkotian immediately announces that they are to be executed for their transgression of trespassing.
The Melkotian, as a means of execution, reaches into Kirk's brain and psychically creates the town of Tombstone, Arizona, circa 1881, shortly before the infamous Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. They are expected to be shot to death by psychic versions of the Earp brothers. Their phasers magically become 19th-century six-shooters, and everyone refers to them as key players in the notorious gunfight. Kirk is Ike Clanton. Chekov is Billy Claiborne.

Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón turned down an offer to make a James Bond movie. “I was troubled about the idea of doing it,” he said.
Who will direct the next James Bond movie? Who will star in the next James Bond movie? At the time of writing, those remain open questions. One filmmaker we can probably mark as out of the running, though, is Children Of Men and Gravity director Alfonso Cuarón.
The filmmaker has revealed that he was once “offered a Bond film” but ultimately turned it down – partly because the thought of making it made him feel uneasy, and partly because he had a pivotal dinner conversation with fellow director Joel Coen.

Daniel Craig has not bought into the societal conception of masculinity, something he noted was among his “biggest reservations” about portraying MI6 secret agent James Bond in five films across 15 years.
“I would say one of my biggest reservations about playing [Bond] would be the construct of masculinity,” he told The New Yorker in a recent Q&a while promoting the limited U.S. theatrical release of Luca Guadagnino’s Queer. “It was often very laughable, but you can’t mock it and expect it to work. You have to buy into it.”
Craig, who has taken on a tonal range of films since portraying 007 via projects like Queer and Rian Johnson’s Knives Out universe, played the suave spy in 2006’s Casino Royale, 2008’s Quantum of Solace, 2012’s Skyfall, 2015’s Spectre and 2021’s No Time to Die. The actor has been vocal about leaving the franchise behind for good and having no regrets about doing so, as well as his lack of involvement in the search for a new Bond.
“I mean, the vulnerability of human beings is always interesting to me,” he continued, connecting the “artificial” concept of masculinity to the William S. Burroughs avatar he plays in Queer. “We’re all vulnerable. It doesn’t matter who you are. It doesn’t matter how tough you are, everybody’s vulnerable. But it’s how boys are brought up, how men are expected to behave, how someone like Burroughs was expected to behave.”
He added later, “Listen, [Bond] is nearly 20 years of my life. When I took it on I was one person. I’m now a completely different person. I’m not doing this movie in response to that. I’m not that small. But I couldn’t have done this movie when I was doing Bond. It would’ve felt kind of, ‘Why? What are you trying to prove?'”
Elsewhere during the interview, Craig opened up about feeling “suddenly kind of free” to take on other projects post-Bond, as well as what it was like losing the “freedom … as a semi-anonymous human being” after the franchise skyrocketed him to fame.
Set in 1950s Mexico City and based on the novella of the same name by Burroughs, Queer follows Lee (Craig), an American ex-pat living a solitary life in his forties in a small working-class and collegiate community. The romantic drama unfolds alongside the arrival of Eugene Allerton (Drew Starkey), a young student whom Lee is driven to pursue.

Over the more than three decades during which Daniel Craig has been acting in the movies, there’s not much that the British A-lister hasn’t done. Most famously, he played James Bond in five films over 15 years (2006’s Casino Royale, 2008’s Quantum of Solace, 2012’s Skyfall, 2015’s Spectre and 2021’s No Time to Die). He has also worked with many of the greatest filmmakers (e.g. Steven Spielberg on 2005’s Oscar-nominated Munich and David Fincher on 2011’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) and actors (e.g. Tom Hanks and Paul Newman on 2002’s Road to Perdition) of his time. And he is at the center of Netflix’s biggest film franchise (playing detective Benoit Blanc in 2019’s Knives Out, 2022’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery and the forthcoming Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery).

Barry Keoghan is apparently set to play Sir Ringo Starr in four biopics about The Beatles. The ‘Saltburn’ actor, 32, was previously rumoured to be in the mix to play the legendary drummer in the upcoming movie series about the iconic band, and now Starr, 84, has seemingly suggested that Keoghan has indeed signed on to play him in the films.Speaking with Entertainment Tonight about the actor’s rumoured involvement in the project, Ringo said: “I think it’s great.“I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons, and I hope not too many.” The ‘Dunkirk’ star was first linked to the movies - which will to be helmed by ‘Skyfall’ director Sir Sam Mendes - in February, with Deadline reporting that Keoghan would portray the drummer, while ‘Gladiator II’ actor Paul Mescal and Babygirl’s Harris Dickinson would play Sir Paul McCartney and John Lennon respectively. Ringo Starr seems to have confirmed that Barry Keoghan will play him in the Starr-centric film in Sam Mendes’ four-part Beatles biopic.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight this week, the Beatles drummer weighed in when asked about the rumored casting, telling the network, “I think he’s great, I believe he’s somewhere taking drum lessons. I hope not too many.”
While Starr’s remark gives some validity to the Keoghan rumors that had surfaced recently, another source would not confirm the casting based on Starr’s statements. They told Rolling Stone...

Hollywood visual effects pioneer Colin Chilvers, who earned a Special Achievement Academy Award in 1979 for making Christopher Reeves as Superman fly, has died. He was 79.
Chilvers died Tuesday in Fort Erie, Ontario, according to his nephew, Chris Corbould, whose own VFX credits include Inception, The Dark Knight Rises and James Bond franchise movies like No Time to Die and Spectre.
“I am forever indebted to Colin as he instigated the start of my own career in special effects when he invited me onto the set of Tommy in 1974 when I was 16 years old and inspired me to make a career in the film industry,” Corbould told The Hollywood Reporter.

Daniel Craig would not have been able to fit “Queer” into his “brand” of being James Bond.
The actor told the New York Times that while starring as 007 across five films from 2006 to 2021, he felt as though he could not deviate from the brand of the iconic literary character. Leading a feature like “Queer” could even have been perceived as stunt casting at the time as well, per the interview.
“I wouldn’t have done it,” Craig said of turning down the Luca Guadagnino film if it was offered it to him 10 years ago. “I was so wrapped up in Bond and what that was, I would have been terrified of doing something like this.”
Craig continued, “Especially early on with Bond, I was like, ‘This is enough. Stay in my lane.’”

There’s no denying that The Fast and the Furious was inspired by a plethora of vehicular heist films that preceded it, but it also ended up being a source of inspiration for many action films that came after it. If we look at the North American market, after the success of the Ff franchise, films like Torque, Need for Speed, and Baby Driver were greenlit. Russia jumped on the trend with Street Racers. So did Malaysia with Evolusi Kl Drift and its sequel Evolusi Kl Drift 2; yes, they weren’t hiding their love for Tokyo Drift. India launched the massively popular Dhoom franchise. The Norwegian film industry also spawned a franchise inspired by the Ff films, i.e., the Borning trilogy. While the French were ahead of the curve with the two Taxi movies, they eventually expanded it into a five-film franchise after the demand for vehicular mayhem increased in the 2000s.

Here’s the truth about Daniel Craig’s cameo in Star Wars (Photo Credit – Instagram)
It’s one of those blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moments, but James Bond, Daniel Craig, played a stormtrooper in The Force Awakens. Not just any stormtrooper either—Craig was the one who set Rey loose from captivity. During a recent BAFTA chat, Craig spilled on how this cameo turned into way more work than he’d signed up for, starting with a joke.
When Craig was filming Spectre at Pinewood Studios, a ton of the crew was also working on J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars. So, Craig decided to shoot his shot and asked Second Assistant Director Ben Dixon, “Part for me?” Surprisingly, Dixon went to ask J.J. Abrams, and the answer was a wild “Yeah.” Craig figured he’d be in the background—maybe do something funny like that classic stormtrooper who bumps his head in A New Hope.

Daniel Craig rose to international fame with his role as the fictional spy created by Ian Fleming, James Bond. Until his role in Casino Royale, his most prominent roles were alongside Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and in the Steven Spielberg film Munich. The role of Bond even got him into the Guinness Book of World Records.

Craig’s salary for James Bond may not be the highest in his career, but it was enough for him to top actors like Pierce Brosnan and Sean Connery as the highest-paid Bond actor. The achievement came as no easy feat as Craig spent a good 15 years of his career in the role.

Roughly nine years ago—i.e., around the time he was coming down from the filming of Spectre, which would turn out to be his penultimate James Bond film—Daniel Craig gave an interview so hugely indifferent to the concept of interviews that we still think about it to this day.

It’s been almost 20 years since Daniel Craig first starred as James Bond in 2006’s “Casino Royale,” and after two decades, the actor truly doesn’t care about where the franchise goes next.
Craig said during a Variety video titled “How Well Do They Know Each Other?” alongside “Queer” co-star Drew Starkey that he isn’t holding his breath to find out who becomes the new 007.
When asked by Variety, “If you were to pass the James Bond torch, who would you love to see play him?,” Craig laughed and said, “I don’t care.”
Also during the interview, Craig was asked how many Bond films he appeared in. “I’m going to get it wrong,” he said, while Starkey wrote “too many.”
“Exactly,” Craig quipped. “I’d have to count them. I don’t know.” He ultimately correctly said five.

We’ve still not got a new James Bond film – but today’s rumours suggest Steve McQueen is on the director shortlist, and the script is a long way off.
And the clock keeps ticking. We’re soon to hit the longest gap between James Bond since they started all the way back in Dr No. No Time To Die arrived in 2021, six years after the release of Spectre. Previously, it was six years between Licence To Kill and GoldenEye. In both of those cases there were mitigating factors: the legal battles behind the scenes in the 1980s and early 90s, and the small matter of Covid-19 at the start of this decade.
This time, things are different. Appreciating there’s been the adjustment to Amazon now owning MGM, and thus having a stake in the franchise, it’s now five years since a James Bond film was before the cameras.

Daniel Craig is mostly known among the fans for being the highest-paid James Bond actor. Besides that, the Munich actor also contributed significantly to modernizing the classic whodunit thriller genre with his Knives Out film series. The first Knives Out film, released in 2019 was a huge commercial and critical hit. However, on the release of its sequel Glass Onion by Netflix, both Craig and director Rian Johnson were highly disappointed.

The longest time frame between James Bond movie releases was six years, with the mark being hit twice: first between Timothy Dalton’s final outing, 1989’s License to Kill, and Pierce Brosnan’s debut, 1995’s GoldenEye; the most recent came between 2015’s Spectre and 2021’s No Time to Die. It has now been three years since that Daniel Craig farewell hit the screen…but will it be another three? According to one key figure at Amazon (who acquired MGM in 2022), patience is still key.
Speaking with The Guardian, Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke said, “The global audience will be patient. We don’t want too much time between films, but we are not concerned at this point.” That comment seems to sit somewhere in the middle. Sam Mendes doubts he will direct another James Bond movie after helming 2012’s Skyfall and 2015’s Spectre.
In HBO’s The Franchise, the filmmaker spoofs the process of making big-budget franchises and, in a new interview, explains why he doesn’t think he’ll direct another James Bond film.
“They don’t want people who have a big track record,” Mendes said in an interview with Inverse. “They want slightly more malleable people who are earlier in their career who perhaps are going to use it as a stepping stone, and who are more controllable by the studio.”
Although Mendes noted to “never say never,” he adds, “but I would doubt it. It was very good for me at that moment in my life. I felt like it shot me out of some old habits. It made me think on a bigger scale. It made me use different parts of my brain.

Riding high off his satirical send-up of superhero cinema, The Franchise, director Sam Mendes tells Inverse that he doesn't anticipate another chance at James Bond. Mendes, who directed a series high (Skyfall) and a series snooze (Spectre), remains the only Best Director winner to helm the long-running franchise. However, he...

Sam Mendes may have outgrown the James Bond franchise in more ways than one.
Mendes, who directed 007 films “Skyfall” (2012) and “Spectre” (2015), told Inverse that he probably won’t return to make a third. The key members behind the franchise, like producer Barbara Broccoli and now Amazon MGM Studios, prefer up-and-coming filmmakers who are “more controllable.”
“They want slightly more malleable people who are earlier in their career, who perhaps are going to use it as a stepping stone, and who are more controllable by the studio,” Mendes said.
Mendes hedged on the notion of a third Bond film with the requisite “never say never,” but it sounds like a never.
“I would doubt it,” Mendes said. “It was very good for me at that moment in my life. I felt like it shot me out of some old habits. It made me think on a bigger scale. It made me...

Bond fever is gripping the globe and all eyes are turned towards the most headline-grabbing aspect of the next installment in the long-running property. What, do you think all the frenzied speculation begins and ends with the newest leading man who'll eventually try on that impeccably-tailored suit? Ha! In my eye, what's just as crucial to the future of this series is the filmmaker who'll take a seat in the director's chair and try to improve on Daniel Craig's widely celebrated run as James Bond. In the three years (and counting) since "No Time to Die" brought that iteration to a very definitive end -- and it doesn't get any more definitive than killing off the title character for the first time in franchise history -- all the most obvious names have been bandied back and forth. While I wouldn't put much stock into the notion of Christopher Nolan...

Sam Mendes directed two James Bond movies, “Skyfall” (2012) and “Spectre” (2015), and he doubts he’ll return to the 007 franchise to helm a third entry. Speaking to Inverse to promote his new HBO series “The Franchise,” Mendes said the studio often needs a director who is younger and thus more “controllable.” That’s no longer him.
“Never say never, to quote the man, but I would doubt it,” Mendes said about directing a third “Bond” movie. “It was very good for me at that moment in my life. I felt like it shot me out of some old habits. It made me think on a bigger scale. It made me use different parts of my brain. You have to have a lot of energy.”

The name’s Mendes, Sam Mendes. The Bond franchise has been ongoing for more than 60 years and 25 films, so it’s no surprise that there have been many repeat directors. But Sam Mendes was the first to helm multiple Bond films since the ‘80s (an era ruled by John Glen), guiding Daniel Craig through the 2010s. After Skyfall and Spectre, the torch was passed to Cary Joji Fukunaga. So will Sam Mendes go the Terence Young route, sitting one installment out and returning with thunder? Never say never…but probably not.
Speaking with Inverse, Sam Mendes credited the Bond films with coming at a crucial time in his career but doesn’t see it as a guarantee for his future. “Never say never, to quote the man, but I would doubt it. It was very good for me at that moment in my life. I felt like it shot me out of some old habits.

After Jonathan Bailey had a brief cameo in “Heartstopper” Season 3, creator Alice Oseman is open to more guest appearances in potential future seasons, with Andrew Scott coming to mind.
“I love Andrew Scott,” Oseman told TheWrap. “I think he’s such an established queer actor … he would be an incredible addition to the show. Maybe he can be another teacher or something like that, I don’t know, but that would be cool.”
Best known for his roles in “Fleabag,” “Ripley” and “Spectre,” Scott recently starred in “All of Us Strangers” as a lonely screenwriter named Adam, who develops an intimate relationship with his mysterious neighbor (Paul Mescal) as he revisits his past memories.
Bailey’s cameo in “Heartstopper” Season 3 came about after the “Bridgerton” star reached out and expressed his interest in joining the Netflix coming-of-age series. Oseman said they “haven’t had any other actors express interest” in a similar guest star role,...

Sam Mendes doesn’t think he will be returning to the James Bond franchise. The 59-year-old director helmed 2012’s ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre’ three years later but confessed that he is unlikely to come back for a third movie as 007 bosses plan a reboot following Daniel Craig's departure as Bond.Speaking with Inverse, the filmmaker said: "Never say never, to quote the man, but I would doubt it."It was very good for me at that moment in my life. I felt like it shot me out of some old habits. It made me think on a bigger scale. It made me use different parts of my brain. Rachel Weisz, the stunner, seems to still be holding a potential villainous role in the James Bond saga a possibility. Throughout her decades-long star-studded career, she has been seen delivering applaudable performances in commendable roles across action adventure masterpieces like The Mummy film series and classic thriller dramas like The Favourite.

But as much as she is loved for her heroic roles that saw her in a different light nearly each time, Weisz hasn’t eliminated the chances of her becoming a part of the same franchise of the peerless spy that her husband Daniel Craig earned worldwide recognition through. In fact, if anything, the actress confessed she was still prime to join the saga.
