The film became widely publicized in 2014 when its producers submitted it for screening at a Tel Aviv-set event called DocAviv in May 2014. Several of the documentary's participants, including Danny Glover and Ms. Boggs herself, angrily stated that they supported the anti-Israel Boycott Divestment Sanctions movement and demanded the film be pulled from an event taking place in Israel. The producers expressed surprise that the movie playing in Israel would be a problem, and linked on their website to the BDS endorsement, but also stated that they would not pull the film out of DocAviv. It ended up having two screenings at the event without any on-site incidents.
