Girlfriends Films ended this Lesbian Debutantes series with this three-parter, as the concept was running out of steam.
A big problem here is that the series' original strength has largely been abandoned. The pageantry of two dozen beauties (played by generally first-rank actresses of Lesbian Cinema) dressed to the nines and gathering for the year's premier social register event in Thornhill gave Girlfriends Films quality nostalgia content and glamorous spectacle.
In Part 1 we have a few seconds of the women walking along or standing on a stairway as the white-clad debutantes descend the stairs. There is also a minute or two of the girls chatting (inaudibly) at the ball, footage repeated . But the event itself is downplayed, reduced to mere gimmick for setting up the movie's sex scenes, where the event is a source of namedropping.
One episode here has young Cassandra Nix receiving an invitation to attend the ball as a Girl in White, but stepmom Syren De Mer tells her daddy wouldn't approve, as he's vying to be nominated for a judgeship and a lesbian daughter (the instant connotation regarding this coming-out ball for lesbians) could be scandalous.
For porn's sake, Syren seduces the kid after setting her straight (so to speak).
Perhaps just sloppiness accounts for Syren playing a prominent figure at the same ball in Part 2, clearly a different role.
Cherie DeVille appears prominently in all three parts of this 2012 saga, seen having sex with a very shy Dani Daniels in Part 1.
Angela Sommers is another blonde debutante, having sex with quirky Dana DeArmond (one of the "mature" ladies or "mothers" at the ball, while after the ball last year's hostess for the event India Summer beds down with her lover Zoey Holloway.
I am a big fan of both this series' concept and the even more nostalgic "Pin-Up Girls", both sadly abandoned by the brain trust at the GF label.
