Like the creator of Star Wars, George Lucas, J.J. Abrams has worked with Harrison Ford before. Ford appeared in Regarding Henry (1991), which was written by Abrams, who also appears briefly in the film as a delivery boy. Abrams also produced Morning Glory (2010), co-starring Ford. Ford also acted in the second feature film by George Lucas, American Graffiti (1973).

When Rey wakes up restrained as Kylo Ren's "guest" at Starkiller Base, Kylo Ren's mask has distinctive surface markings and a hole, but when he removes his mask and sets it down in the closeup it's a flipped shot - the marks and hole have switched sides.
The stars that form the backdrop for the end credits are exactly the same stars as in the beginning of the movie.
The end credits music is slightly different on the Blu-Ray version of the film - we get to hear a bit more of Rey's theme than what we heard in the theatrical version.
