Starkiller Base was originally located on Dantooine, with the First Order converting the old Rebel base there, as mentioned in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope (1977). Starkiller would have also been called the "Doom Star", and its cannon would have fired out of a volcano.

When Finn asks Rey if she can unfix the poisonous gas they rush to get the air masks, and as Finn climbs down to the maintenance bay below deck we see the floor behind Rey when she starts to kneel to help BB-8. Then after the closeup of Rey helping BB-8, in the next shot as Finn takes BB-8 from Rey we see the corner of the floor's deck plate that has suddenly appeared behind Rey, which she reaches for in the following shot to cover the maintenance bay.
The first "Thank You" credit (usually dedicated to benefactors of the film or to organizations or locations that gave permission for filming/technical advice/support) is dedicated to "The patient family and friends of the cast and crew."
IMAX releases presented the five-minute sequence in which Rey and Finn escape Jakku in the Millennium Falcon (which was shot with IMAX 70mm cameras) in an opened aspect ratio compared to the rest of the film.
