Rey develops her newly discovered abilities with the guidance of Luke Skywalker, who is unsettled by the strength of her powers. Meanwhile, the Resistance prepares for battle with the First Order.
According to Rian Johnson, Laura Dern could not resist saying "pew pew pew!" when she was required to fire a blaster. This is similar to Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen in the prequels: both had a habit of making lightsaber noises while they dueled.
Resistance Evacuation Officer:
We're not clear yet. There are still 30 pallets of cannon shells in C bunker.
Lieutenant Connix: Forget the munitions, there's no time. Just get everyone on the transports.
Lieutenant Connix: Oh, no.
Just before a Praetorian Guard puts Rey into a headlock, the guard is holding a vibro-arbir blade in each hand. In the same shot, only a few seconds later, the blade in the guard's left hand has vanished behind Rey's back, and is never seen again.
