Trivia

In keeping with a long-time series tradition, the opening shot after the text crawl shows a space vehicle flying either away from or toward the screen (in this case, several Resistance transport ships fly towards the screen).

Quotes

Resistance Evacuation Officer: We're not clear yet. There are still 30 pallets of cannon shells in C bunker.
Lieutenant Connix: Forget the munitions, there's no time. Just get everyone on the transports.
Lieutenant Connix: Oh, no.

Goofs

During the low-speed chase, the First Order chases the Rebel fleet until its ships run out of fuel. When they do run out of fuel, the First Order ships are able to overtake them and destroy them.

This makes absolutely no sense, as the laws of physics dictate that an object's inertial movement will keep it moving at the same rate absent any external force. The chase is taking place in the vacuum of space, so even if the ships do run out of fuel, they'll continue to move at the same speed they did when their thrusters were functioning properly. There's no friction in space, so until the ships get caught in some massive object's (such as a planet's or star's) gravitational field, they would continue to move at the same speed, potentially for years, decades, centuries, or even millennia.

Crazy Credits

The stars that form the backdrop for the end credits are exactly the same stars as the stars from the backdrop for the end credits of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016) .

Can Ben Barnes Fix Thanos?

Ben Barnes' character in "The Punisher" sees a therapist, so obviously he's perfectly qualified to give his fellow villains Magneto, Mystique, and Thanos some much-needed therapy.
