Never trust the city

In the year 2023 Quito, Ecuador is a walled in city controlled by General Ponce. We get to see Ponce and the rebels lead by Santiago and Marcos, but we never really see anything other than that, just the inside of a couple of buildings, filmed in three or four rooms. The theme of the film is the Animal Farm scenario which has worked its way into modern films (Hunger Games and Insurgent series to name two). It is listed a sci-fi, although the technology is contemporary and nothing to suggest this is science fiction other than it takes place in the future.I was rather bored listening to people talking during this "thriller." English subtitles.

Very innovative storytelling technique.

Just saw it in the theater last night. I was impressed that they managed to tell such a complex story on such a tiny budget. The set was limited to just two locations. The special effects were all in your head with the cameras cutting away at just the right moment to avoid the high cost of gunshots and explosions. As the climax approached, I realized they were doing this all with just actors, writers and cameras, so I was anxious to see how they were going to pull off the epic battle scene. Without giving away any spoilers, I have to say I was impressed by the way they did it. Theater of the mind in the theater! Bravo to these nascent filmmakers! I can't wait to see what they do with a multimillion-dollar budget.
