Image
It's not every day that we get to be excited about a new animated show, but now Nickelodeon is giving us just that. The network is preparing to release Wylde Pak, an exciting new series that centers around two kids learning to coexist in a shared reality they didn't imagine for themselves. The series' look is distinct and exciting enough, but Collider is thrilled to exclusively reveal another element of the upcoming 2D-animated show that will be a standout: its soundtrack. This is best illustrated with the extended theme song, which you can check out in this article.

Wylde Pak's musical identity was developed by Lionchld, a songwriting trio that has collaborated with world-famous artists such as Britney Spears, Calvin Harris, Girls Generation, Chris Brown, Keke Palmer, Bebe Rexha, and Anitta. Image
Nine years later, audiences are finally getting the chance to get reacquainted with one Mr. Christian Wolff, aka The Accountant. ‘The Conners’ star Lecy Goranson on the final season tribute to Roseanne, her bond with costar and mentor John Goodman, and how she really feels about ‘2 Beckys’
Image
She may be remembered as one-half of “Two Beckys,” but The Conners star Lecy Goranson will always be the Becky Conner, as the actress who originated the role of Roseanne and Dan Conner’s oldest child on Roseanne when she was just 14 years old.

Through the 1988-97 original series (minus a few of seasons off while she attended college and Sarah Chalke was recast as the character), the one-season Roseanne reboot in 2018, and the just-completed seven-season Roseanne sequel, Goranson’s Becky ran off against her parents’ wishes to marry her high school boyfriend, Mark (Glenn Quinn), became a widow (after Quinn died in 2002 and his role was not recast), battled alcoholism, became a single mother, and pursued an advanced degree after giving up her dream of college when she eloped with Mark.

In The Conners series finale — spoiler alert — Becky’s years of surviving a lot of trauma and working a lot of unsatisfying,...

“Kinda Pregnant” was released February 5, 2025, on Netflix.

A light-hearted comedy film for fans of Amy Schumer.

Fake Pregnancy, Real Love

You’re “Kinda Pregnant“? There’s no such condition. There is if you make it up! That’s what Lainy Newton (played by Amy Schumer) did. Some women get jealous of other women who get pregnant. They can become extremely envious if the pregnant woman is a close friend who looks like she’ll be enjoying all of the wonderful things in life that they aren’t enjoying … at the moment. Well! It’s possible they could also experience similar joys in life but … are you that desperate and jealous that you’d actually fake a pregnancy? This isn’t a competition, you know?

About Amy Schumer:

Amy Schumer wears many “hats”. She is a comedian, actress, writer, producer, and director who started her career in comedy in the early...

'Kinda Pregnant' is at the Top of the Streaming Charts Despite Terrible Reviews
Image
Kinda Pregnant is a new romantic comedy featuring gross-out humor, and stars Amy Schumer (Trainwreck) as Lainy Newton, a teacher in New York City, and Will Forte (MacGruber) as Josh Lewis. The Netflix film, produced in part by Schumer and Adam Sandler, recently debuted and is currently sitting at number one on the Netflix movie chart in the United States ahead of Valentine's Day.

The film follows Lainy, who is in her 40s and wants to finally start building a family with her boyfriend, Dave (Damon Wayans Jr.). Unfortunately, he has other thoughts on his mind and asks about open relationships. Poor Lainy spirals, especially as her best friend and fellow teacher, Kate (Jillian Bell), announces she's pregnant.

One thing leads to another, and Lainy ends up trying on a fake pregnant belly and the next thing she knows, she has a new friend named Megan (Brianne Howey), who believes Lainy is pregnant,...

‘Kinda Pregnant’ Review: Kinda Half-Baked and Unfocused but Less Than Kinda Funny
Image
Cr. Scott Yamano/Netflix © 2024.

From Happy Madison & It’s So Easy Productions, Kinda Pregnant brings actor/comedian Amy Schumer back to film leading lady status for the first time since 2018’s I Feel Pretty. However, it’s hardly a comeback for Schumer as she has been hard at work since then as she’s written & performed multiple comedy specials, created & starred in Hulu’s Life After Beth, brought back Inside Amy Schumer for a 5 episode run in 2022, & co-starred in several films including The Humans, Bros, & Netflix’s Unfrosted. She also became a mother in 2019, which was well documented in the miniseries Expecting Amy released on HBO Max in 2020.

This new film, co-written & co-produced by Schumer, centers on pregnancy and motherhood as well (kinda) with Amy’s character Lainy finding herself desperate & jealous as a woman in her 40s who’s wanted a family of her own since childhood.

After her 4-year...

'Kinda Pregnant' Review: A Talented Cast Fail to Birth Good Comedy
Image
Kinda Pregnant revels in a combination of gross-out pregnancy-related humor and awkward 'moments' between truly gifted comedic talents. Unfortunately, even the better scenes don't rise far above a smirk or a chuckle because, despite efforts to shock, there is nothing here that will surprise you.

Amy Schumer stars as Lainy Newton, a woman in her 40s desperate to get to the family building stage of her life. Personal disaster strikes when her best friend for life, Kate (Jillian Bell), gets pregnant first, learning this news while tweezing ingrown hairs on the toilet with her husband, and if you're not onboard with that, it's unlikely Kinda Pregnant is for you.

Why Amy Schumer Is Hated & Her Netflix Movie Is Boycotted
Image
Amy Schumer is back with a new movie, resuming her Netflix relationship despite their disagreements eight years ago when she wanted more than $11 million for a stand-up special. The trailer for Kinda Pregnant has been out for a week but has just 55 thousand views (and 1.7 thousand likes) as of Jan. 13, 2025. That's compared to the more successful trailers for relatively little-known upcoming Netflix titles, like Don't Die: The Man Who Wants to Live Forever (509 thousand views), Cassandra (138 thousand views), Bandidos Season 2 (208 thousand views), and one of several trailers for Sakamoto Days (3 million views in three days).

Perhaps this has to do with the lengthy history of negativity towards Schumer, for various reasons. She has certainly had a contentious relationship with her audience (who she refuses to be photographed with in most instances), frequently fueled by social media, that great catalyst of catastrophe.

The comments on the trailer for Kinda Pregnant indicate...

‘Kinda Pregnant’ Trailer: Amy Schumer Pretends She’s Expecting in Raunchy Netflix Comedy
Image
Amy Schumer pretends she’s a mom-to-be in the new trailer for Netflix’s R-rated comedy “Kinda Pregnant.”

In the film, Schumer plays Lainy Newton, a newly single teacher who wants to be a mother. So, she understandably gets a little jealous after discovering her best friend, Kate (Jillian Bell), is pregnant, leading Lainy to tell a slight fabrication… in the form of donning a fake baby bump. Her deception is complicated by the fact that she meets her dream man (Will Forte) while acting like she’s with child.

“Do you ever tell, like, such a big lie you don’t know how to get out of it?” she asks in the trailer. Lainy commits to her fabrication, though, going along with the gestation of her fake baby and new relationship at the same time.

As she gets closer to Forte’s character, Lainy asks if he’s ever...

Nikki Glaser pokes fun at Ozempic and ‘Wicked’ finger-holding in her Golden Globes monologue
Image
Following back-to-back misfires with Golden Globe hosts Jo Koy and Jerrod Carmichael, it was Nikki Glaser‘s chance to take the reins of Hollywood’s biggest party on Sunday.

During her 10-minute monologue (watch above), the stand-up comedian walked a fine line between poking fun of the A-list celebrities in attendance and giving them their proverbial flowers for making it to the Beverly Hilton as either nominees, presenters, or guests.

She started off with a joke about how the event should really be called “Ozempic’s biggest night.” She let everyone know that she was not there to roast them, because they were so “powerful” they could do anything … “except tell the country who to vote for.” She asked Ariana Grande to “hold [her] finger,” a joke to the ongoing Wicked press tour between Grande and Cynthia Erivo. “My boyfriend’s boyfriend really loved Wicked,” Glaser later teased.

Who's Hosting The 2025 Golden Globes & Where You Know Them From
Image
The Golden Globes are the first big event of the 2025 awards season, giving out awards to the best films and TV shows of 2024, though the ceremony has always been much less of a draw than many of the other awards shows. While the most important aspect of the ceremony is, of course, which film and TV projects will take home the most awards, another very important part of the ceremony is the host, and how they will shape how the show goes throughout the night.

The question of the continued importance of the Golden Globes when the Oscars are so dominant in the awards season remains, but they are still leading the charge as the first event that defines how the next few months of ceremonies may go. With the 2025 Oscar nominees not even announced yet, everyone is looking to this event to see how the films of the year are generally perceived by voters,...

‘The Simpsons’ Sings Musical Number About Homer Not Wanting to Buy Marge Tampons (Exclusive)
Image
“The Simpsons” has been in an experimental mode as of late, trying big swings like its “series finale” Season 36 premiere and its recent, spot-on parody of “The White Lotus.” This week, the show is once again playing with its format — via the sketch comedy-inspired “Women in Shorts” episode.

Variety has a first look (scroll down below) at one of the bits. Rather than a single storyline, the “Women in Shorts” episode will contain around 15 different vignettes. Writer Christine Nangle, who penned the episode, has a sketch background and hails from the Upright Citizens Brigade, so trying it on “The Simpsons” made sense.

“Our showrunner, Matt Selman, has been really encouraging us to take risks and break format a little bit more,” Nangle said. “I thought it would be cool to do an episode that feels a little bit like a sketch show, and delving into the lives of the women of the town.

Jax Media Dissolves Development Team; Head of TV Dave Binegar To Exit
Image
Exclusive: Jax Media, an Imagine Entertainment company, is shutting down its development operations. I hear the announcement was made during a staff meeting yesterday. Moving forward, all development will be consolidated and run through Imagine Television. Jax’s development team will wind down by year’s end when its executives, led by Jax Head of TV Dave Binegar, who joined a year ago, and UK Creative Director Katie Gahamire, who came on board in April, will depart.

The move signals Jax reverting to its original core business as a production services company. That will continue under new head of production Yolanda T. Cochran who was just hired for the role, replacing Jake Fuller who stepped down to focus on independent production, mostly sports-related.

Also staying on are Hussain Casey-Ahmed, who joined in April and runs production in the UK, as well as John Nemeth and Morgan Howard, who oversee production in New York.

With the exception of a few soap operas and public affairs programs, no TV show has been on the air longer than NBC’s Saturday Night Live, which will embark on its 50th season Sept. 28. And as we approach the 76th Emmys, which will take place just a few weeks before that, it is the most celebrated show in the history of that event. Indeed, SNL holds the records for most Emmy nominations with 341 (Game of Thrones is second with 159) and wins with 89 (GoT is second with 59). Given that history, it may be hard to feel sorry for SNL and Michaels when it comes to the Emmys — but this year,...

One Of Owen Wilson's Best Roles Almost Went To Jake Gyllenhaal
Image
Hollywood is bursting with "what if" scenarios -- "Sliding Doors" moments where actors, writers, directors, and craftspeople almost made a certain project, or almost walked away from a job that would become huge for their careers. With the benefit of hindsight, these situations are often fun to think about -- especially if, as in the case in today's example, A) the two people competing for a part were vying for a memorable role in a well-known movie, and B) they both went on to have great careers, so the thought exercise doesn't feel mean-spirited or just plain sad.

In an oral history of "Zoolander" published by Vanity Fair in 2021, "Zoolander" writer, producer, director, and star Ben Stiller explained how Owen Wilson nearly didn't end up playing Hansel, Derek Zoolander's rival-male-model-turned-friend, and identified the surprising actor who almost took the role instead:

"We wrote Hansel for Owen Wilson. But at a certain point,...

Image
For Kevin Kane, the endgame never wavered once he set a goal to move to New York in the early aughts to pursue a career in acting. He’ll tell you that luck seemed to always be on his side, as the actor from Philadelphia found work soon after his arrival to the Big Apple.

Amy Schumer Can’t Escape Backlash… She’s Ok With That
Image
Amy Schumer was in the zone. This was in March, when she was filming on the street in Brooklyn for her upcoming movie “Kinda Pregnant,” a comedy about a woman who pretends to be knocked up for attention. In one take, Schumer emerged from a subway station while answering a phone call — and was interrupted by a stranger shouting at her from the sidewalk: “Fuck you, Amy Schumer! You’re a Zionist! You love genocide!”

Disruptions of the four-letter variety aren’t unusual in a raucous place like New York, though they’re usually less pointed. Schumer didn’t break character, refusing to stop working as the woman carried on. The actress finished the scene finally, packed up her stuff and went home to her husband and their 4-year-old son.

“It didn’t even raise my heart rate,” Schumer says over brunch at a cozy Brooklyn Heights tavern a couple days later.

‘Reservation Dogs’ breakout star Devery Jacobs is ready for her Emmys close-up
Image
“Reservation Dogs” took the industry by storm. Critics and audiences alike fell in love with this FX comedy from Sterlin Harjo and Oscar-winner Taika Waititi. The series follows the lives of four Indigenous teenagers living in rural Oklahoma who try to scrape together enough money to leave behind their reservation community.

The reason the show soars so high is its spectacular cast, at the center of which is a quartet of brilliant young actors: Devery Jacobs, D’Pharoah Woon-a-Tai, Paulina Alexis, and Lane Factor. Jacobs is perhaps the jewel in this crown, as noted by critics.

Maureen Ryan (Vanity Fair) observed: “It was astonishing to watch Jacobs’s body language and face in the recent episode in which Elora met her father, Rick (Ethan Hawke). It was magical to see her unlock psychological doors she’d kept shut for years, transforming her into a more relaxed version of the capable,...
