A very funny sketch comedy show!

The increasingly famous comedian Amy Schumer continues her raunchy and hilarious sketch show on Comedy Central with a very funny fourth season. The comedy this season didn't exceed others but it still delivered plenty of laughs with great skits that were a spot-on commentary of our strange society.

Amy Schumer is not afraid to ridicule her detractors and expose herself to skeptical viewers and it usually turns out to be for great satire and skits that explore difficult situations. Some of the skits just flat out missed or were to over the top to capture the subtle laughs but the majority of the scenarios cooked up by the amazing writing team and the comic are able to make viewers laugh out loud.

I Love the Schumster

A ranking of 7 is a bit low for love but while the first few seasons were fresh and clever the 4th season was kind of a dud. I'm sure her soaring film career put a dent in her time to write material for her show, and it shows. Her last standup comedy special...also, a real let down where her previous stuff was really great. Honestly, it's fine. She's gotta make that money and I respect that.

It's true that Amy Schumer focuses way too much on sex in her skits and routines. Sometimes it's as if she's trying to be dirtier than the dirtiest male comedian. Or it's as if she's daring herself to say words for genitals out loud. But ultimately, in relation to her comedy in general, you've got to give the girl credit for trying. Most of her sketches are actually funny and creative. She does take a lot of risks. She is very perceptive and she raises issues that other comedians haven't before. The sketch where she's playing a video combat game and her female avatar gets raped by a fellow soldier is incredibly brave. It's a way of raising a hot issue - of sexual assault in the military - in an accessible way. I loved another sketch where she describes how staff at luxury hotels are very fawning and caring while you're paying them, but once you check out, you don't exist. She is not always on the mark when she's talking about race, for example saying that Latino girls always sound 'hot' - a bit of a stereotype - but sometimes she does well, such as talking about how some elderly white people are still just a little bit racist.

I love this show. I think it's exceptionally well-written, and I'm shocked that it's garnered so many bad reviews from other users--so I felt I had to step up to Amy's defense.

Comedy is so subjective...and while I always imagined this show would be well received by both men and women, perhaps on that account I was wrong (as it seems a lot of men are slamming her). That said, I just can't believe that men fail to see how brilliant this show is. Come on! Let's think about some of these sketches:

1) The audition for the Two Cups video? Genius. Because we all know some (much sadder)version of this actually went down before that viral video was made, this concept is genius.

2) The split-screen visual of the one night stand sketch where she becomes obsessed with a dude who has zero interest? I thought men would LOVE this. It's clever and plays on something that's been joked about before, but in a totally novel and self-deprecating way.

3) The Nutter's sketch? Playing upon Hooter's themed restaurants so men can understand how ridiculous it feels to be a woman in one of these establishments? Social commentary anyone? This lady is smart. Give her some credit.

4) The agent Butterface sketch? Come on guys (especially guys who hate this show)...she's calling out gender-based stereotypes and playing with them...just like Chapelle did with race. Again, this lady, and her writer, know what the hell they're doing. And it's pretty brilliant.

In short, I think any thinking person that doesn't have a totally prudish sensibility should love this smart, funny and, I'd argue, subversive show.

As a woman in comedy, I've been waiting for a sketch show like this my whole life.

Definitely give it a chance, the show becomes even funnier as it goes along!

Normally I'm much too lazy to write reviews, but I strongly disagree with what a low rating this show has been given.

I just finished watching episode 6 and must say this show is really, really funny! Probably the best sketch show that I've seen in many years.

However, in fairness, the type of humour is not for everyone. It's very tongue in cheek, absurdest, kind of sarcastic. But if you like Tosh, Louie or Sarah Silverman type humour, I think you will appreciate Amy Schumer. If you find their humor to be offensive or crass, then this show is probably not something you would enjoy.

As well, this show this show may appeal to women, slightly more than men. However, it's so funny that I recommend that everyone should give it a chance. Give it at least 2-3 episodes.

There are usually a few sketches, interspersed with street interviews with random real people, a little bit of stand up comedy and then usually a short interview with a real person who has and a less than mainstream type job. For example, one interview was with an exotic dancer, another episode had a very personable dominatrix and the last episode that I watched (episode 6) had an interview with a Ballerina.

Like any sketch show, some of the sketches are hit and miss, some funnier than others. But the ones that are really funny usually have such a hilarious concept that I can't be that annoyed with sketches that I don't enjoy. Plus, the show moves very quickly.

So anyways, after watching 6 out of 10 episodes, I will say there have been many laugh out loud moments and I've usually finished the show smiling. It did take me a couple of episodes to get into it, but now that I have --- I would definitely recommend this to all of my friends and family who like to laugh! :)

I just do not get it

Amy Schumer has been doing this whole: "hey I'm talking about sex and my vagina and sex in my vagina" type of comedy for years now and for whatever reason, she hasn't caught on that it's just not funny. Nor is it appealing. Plenty of female comics have done this sort of topic before but for some reason it's just extra unappealing when Amy Schumer does it. She's just gross. Gross humor can be funny but Amy Schumer just can't pull it off. It's almost like she thinks this is the comedy that we want her to do. Well I don't, at least. Her popularity has been in a steady decline for the last ten years or so but her material just hasn't changed at all.

Even the title of the show is gross. Not the funny kind of gross either. She used to be the kind of edgy, sharp jab comedian who would catch you off guard with some witty material but now it just seems tired and worn out. Like a prize fighter who fights for decades and at the end of their career they still think they can fight the same way they did when they were in their prime. Except Amy Schumer was never at the top exactly. Maybe in her mind she is or perhaps someone in Hollywood is feeding her something that is reinforcing the notion that this sort of material works for her. She didn't used to gross me out like she does now but I can hardly look at her face anymore without recoiling in disgust. Seeing her comedy is like accidentally witnessing your grandparents doing 69 in the bed you use when you come to visit them. Yeah it's memorable alright but you sure wish it weren't.

This is a good funny time.

The only people who hate on this show are the same people who get upset at dead baby jokes & can't understand they're just jokes. Who are pretty much the same people who do nothing but truck their children to sport games and/or do volunteer work for their Church. Don't watch this show if you don't have a backbone. It's no intended for the people who only want comedy made of fart jokes. You also won't find any ball kicking/falling and tripping type of humor here. Amy Schumer humor takes effort, not balls. DO watch this show if you like laughing. Because you will laugh a really good amount. The premise is incredibly low-brow...just a girl talking about sex and life and making jokes about herself. It's the twists on formula she adds that make the show incredibly fun and inventive.

If you hate laughing, then watch Inside Amy Schumer. It was painfully unfunny to watch her spit out the same joke in every sketch. This show is supposed to be directed at women and their perception of sex, but the last time i checked, I was a woman and I just couldn't laugh at or relate to any of it. I'm not a prude at all, but her joke is not well put together and the way she tells it comes across as childish, a bit like a high school kid who's bragging about self humiliation, rejection and sex like its no big deal.

Her sketch show mirrors her stand up comedy shows, dry and leaving a lot to be desired. How many ways can you tell the same joke?

I was waiting for this show with much anticipation and got even more than what I hoped for. I don't understand how some have already complained about the sexual nature of the show. The Comedy channel, in general, shows many things in this vein. If you dint think so, then you are not watching the Comedy channel, at least at night. I was hooked on Amy the 1st time I saw her stand-up. She has this mid-western innocent look about her starkly juxtaposed to her mantra which is a raw, dry sexuality thats in your face ( no pun intended). She has a quick wit, is very self-effacing, and self deprecating. I was most surprised at her range on her new show, she really sells the skits, which take social stigmas or clichés and flips them on themselves, often in a casual but brutal way. I give mad props to her originality and I love the pacing of the show and its set format of : various skits, stand-up, street interview, and one-one sit down, usually ending with a funny out-take. I hope to see more, hopefully this fine talent is on her way....

Well, the show deservedly got picked up for another season, and its only gotten better. Better production values, better supporting cast and Amy is on the top of her game. The show remains edgy, counter-culture, and irreverent. Excellent writing: the Aaron Sorkin skit was the bomb. It would get my nod for an Emmy.

Awful puerile homour

I often wonder how much 'professional' critics get paid as Schumer seems to have a few too many positive reviews. I can understand some liking her, we are all different, but the media coverage and the sheer number of positive coverage seems somewhat odd.

Shocking and puerile seems to be her go-to with the same 'joke' repeated again and again (and again). Difficult to understand why she has had the leg up from the media to such an extent.

Garbage and a real step back to some of the great female comediennes. I guess between Schumer and McCarthy the future of female comedienne role models is down the toilet.

Inside Amy Schumer is extremely funny and smart. Amy almost always puts herself as the butt of the joke. I really wonder why it only has 6,6. I guess all the new haters she is getting are disliking and rating low all of her stuff all over the internet - out of pure spite. I do not understand the hate. I do not like many male comedians but wouldn't go around trashing them all the time and saying how disgusting they can be. It is comedy. Long story short, anyone with a brain will enjoy this, especially when she deals with topics like sexism, promiscuity, hypocrisy, etc.

Love Amy and this show! Binge worthy.

Okay in the past few days I just binged on about 14 episodes of 'Inside Amy Schumer' and I love this show. I find it very funny and I think Amy is very talented and extremely likable. The cast around her is great and the writing is very funny. I like the mix of stand-up, sketches, street interviews and sit-downs with regular people. The stand-up/sketch format is pretty standard but the street interviews add to it and usually are about the topic just covered in a sketch.

I'm a little confused by the hating' going on in some of the comments. In the beginning of the show when it says it's for 'Mature' audiences that is your clue to NOT watch it if you are easily offended. As for me I think it's funny stuff and I like that she is self-deprecating and seems genuinely nice. This show and 'Louie' are my favorite comedies right now.

Super Hilarious, Fantastic, Hope She Gets a 3rd Season!!!

Just finished binge-watching all 20 eps - wow this chick is funny and creative/imaginative. I first heard her comedy on the 24/7 Comedy station on the iHeart Radio app, and then somehow stumbled into this show on IMDb. As soon as I saw there were episodes entitled "Meth Lab" and "Gang Bang," my gut told me this would be a winner. And boy was I right! From the opening sketch where she's she's auditioning for a "2 girls, 1 cup" parody (and it didn't even matter that it was a bit late on the draw, it was so funny), I was hooked. Hilarious, relevant, insightful sketches interspersed with bits of her solid standup and surprisingly entertaining on-the-street and off-the-street interviews, Inside Amy Schumer is a sketch-comedy show not to be missed! Funniest comedienne-led show that I've seen since the Sarah Silverman Program, and funniest show in general than Louie but more consistently funny than both! Like I give it 9/10 cuz I would say 90-95% of the sketches and interview footage made me grin to laugh out loud :)

Reaching for laughs

They just started repairing it on Comedy Central and I thought I'd give a shot while working. I already had a pre-existing idea of Amy Schumer not being funny from her stand up, and this isn't changing my opinion of her comedy. This sketch comedy show is very bland and seems to be trying to force jokes out with randomness and sexual humor. There doesn't seem to really be a punchline out of those two options for the show. It structures itself like an episode of Robot Chicken, but it tries to keep itself in a semi-reality form where the jokes all revolve around her trying too hard to be funny and jokes about her love live that doesn't seem to do anything.

I JUST finished watching the pilot episode of Inside Amy Schumer, and I have to say...I LOVED BEING INSIDE OF HER! ;o)

If you're a fan of her stand up, I don't see how you could possibly not enjoy this show. It's a very random assortment of different sketches with some of her stand up bits throw in as well.

None of the sketches went on too long past the punchline (like SNL constantly does), and nothing was too absurd. It begins with Amy in a casting session being pitched a small indie flick called, "Two Girls One Cup"...hilarity ensues.

Definitely give this a watch, don't expect it to have a running weekly storyline, it's simply well done sketch comedy. Enjoy! :o)

This really was an awful show. I found Schumer's jokes generally stupid. It completely lacked originality. I didn't laugh once because every joke she used that was remotely funny was exhausted in comedy about ten years. The first act is about her overreacting after a one night stand she reads into a situation where she believes a one night stand actually meant something, so she plans their future lives together. This was pretty stupid especially when a guy jerked off to a elderly woman on a tomato paste bottle. Next was an act with two sarcastic survival stories ones about a guy who loses his arms to mentally ill owls the other about two brothers who are stranded at sea and pee in each others mouths. Schumer then compares it to her dilemma, being forced to wait in line at an airport without champagne, whilst having to hold a kindle fire and a MacBook Air in order to have sex with her ex. It's pretty stupid and to be honest not even close to being funny. I turned the TV off at this point mixed into the show were snippets from her stand-up comedy shows which really weren't that funny either

Really, really funny

When I saw the commercials for Amy Schumer's new show, I thought it looked OK. I've seen some of Schumer's stand-up, and I thought it was OK. And when I started watching her new show... it was hilarious. It was downright hilarious. And I don't say that often.

The sketches were clever and well-acted (especially the one about her being stuck on an airplane having to watch "Zoo Keeper"), and the humor was consistent. "Key & Peele" is usually funny for the first few segments, then gets really slow and eventually picks back up again. Chappelle's Show was great in the beginning, but started to become bland, blindly racist or sensitive, button-pushing (which is ultimately why Dave himself left the show... he did NOT go crazy, as some people claim). And of course, the Sarah Silverman Program.... yeah. Let's not go there. That was NOT funny.

But then there's Amy Schumer. She's charming, she's funny, and the material is truly hilarious. Sure, not every single second of the show was groundbreaking comedy, but then again, which show has ever achieved that? For a pilot episode to a show that looked decent at best, it was surprisingly funny I really enjoyed it. I hope the show continues to deliver.

Once again, I'm impressed!!

The last time I gave a show an 8 out of ten was when I rated the Boondocks. That was funny and Inside Amy Schumer is funny. I will almost guarantee I will watch every episode every week. Inside Amy Schumer (I.A.S) is hilarious because she mixes reality with exaggeration. This is something that takes skill. Very few comedians know how to exaggerate the situation while at the same time keep it realistic. I would assume (from the title) I.A.S describes a bit about her. If not, then Wow! She can act. A few months prior to seeing I.A.S, I saw Mostly Sex Stuff. (Check out my review on that as well). That was also laugh out loud funny. So when I heard that Amy Schumer was coming out with a TV show, I had to see it. To my surprise, Inside Amy Schumer had some big name people guess star. I also love it because it's like a talk show, a skit comedy show, and a stand up all in one. When watching anything made by Amy Schumer, you must a have some knowledge of her comedy. Not every can get it. I not saying you must be a super genius, but when watching it with my mom, she couldn't understand some jokes. To sum this all up, Inside Amy Schumer is a laugh out loud, super witty, brain buster comedy that many will enjoy. I really enjoyed Mostly Sex Stuff, and now once again, I'm impressed.

Well, if this show is a representation of what it's like to be "Inside Amy Schumer", then I suggest one bring lube cause it really is bone dry. Not in a Demetri Martin sense of dry, just...dry. I'm no prude, I love a good dirty joke, her show just seems to ONLY rely on that and that alone. Her sketches are about as decent as her stand up, which isn't saying much. There's not really much to say about a show that doesn't have much material other than sex, sex, and more humorless topics concerning, you guessed it... sex. The show basically is promoting slut pride, I mean, to each their own, but if you're going to create a sketch comedy show, maybe touch upon other things besides how incredibly promiscuous you are?

Amy is the Queen of Self Deprecation

The series features Schumer's take on life, sex, men, women, dating & relationships through scripted scenes, stand-up routines, & woman-on- the-street interviews.

Self deprecating humor is defined where you put yourself down. Sometimes funny, but sometimes overused fishing for compliments or a signal of low self-esteem. Example: "Dress for the job you want, not the job you have. My boss told me that was NOT a good look for the office." Amy would read that & LOVE that definition & the example.

I find this show funny because the dating segments usually are a mix between a woman with rock bottom self esteem mixed with some cold & cruel narcissistic dude. I thought several sketches were laugh out loud funny BECAUSE they are so over the top & out of control. What I love about Amy is how she can show painful disappointment with her hilarious but very subtle facial expressions...as people put her down and treat her with zero respect constantly. I am a fan of this show as it is TRULY a fun social commentary on modern dating. What makes me laugh the MOST are the sketches that have the "Hell Date" or "Disaster Date" feel to them. Oh man...at times I am sitting there saying this is my life.

It REALLY has SOME shades of truth to it...how self absorbed our society has become. Then some scripted scenes are so off the wall...like her nightmare sketch...OMG...so hilarious. Blah...blah...blah...I am stuck in Amy's nightmare on a daily basis.

("Blah...blah...blah...Eli Manning...blah...blah...blah...sports...blah...blah...blah...natural birth...blah...blah...blah...")

Modern dating is so depressing that so many people can seriously relate to this show. I love Amy...she is my favorite comedienne...by far now. I first saw her on 'Red Eye' and thought she was great. I am so glad Comedy Central renewed this gem for another season.

Kudos to the writers...great work...great approach. Oh...I neglected to mention I love the guest appearances by some of her comedian friends. Cast has been fantastic so far. I have only seen 1 lame sketch out of 20 too.

So far...19 of 20 sketches made me laugh & that is SO RARE for me nowadays...so I thank you guys for cheering me up for once. I bet Amy has seriously experienced some of these "3 scoops or crazy" people as at times there is no way you can write this stuff...has to be based on real "characters" one of the writers or Amy has had the displeasure of coming across. I meet them too & that is another reason I am a fan. I can totally relate. It is like someone followed me around with a video camera in a day of my life...sad but true...it is totally like this show...on a daily basis, but FOR REAL.

I think she is great! I think she is really honest, funny and original. Her sketches are raw and I can see why her honest perspectives on sex and dating would frighten some people, but its real. Amy is a rare type of comedian who dares to suggest a sense of dissatisfaction while dating men , and she makes fun of it with a sense of humility and hilarity. I think her critics are just uncomfortable with her point of view. I'm sorry men, women laugh at you too... sorry you can't roll with the punches. Amy highlights issues that we are all thinking/doing that we don't all have the arenas for. I hope comedy central keeps her on, she is a wonderful and talented comedian who has an active and appreciative fan base.

I loved Amy Schumer as a contestant on Last Comic Standing -- she always nailed her routines. She's always entertaining as a talk show guest. The first three seasons of her show had hits and misses, with the hits outnumbering the misses. The fourth season is dreadful. It hasn't made me laugh at all. It's like watching a dirtier, less funny episode of Saturday Night Live. The sketches go on too long and often fall flat. The few decent jokes offer so little payoff that you feel cheated. It's as if she is phoning it in now. It seems like the fame has gone to her head and she no longer relates to her audience (as witnessed by her recent fan interactions).

I thought the Amish interview was really fun and interesting. I would really like if they posted the longer form of the interviews online. I really like her she is sooo funny! The more I watch her the more impressed I am with Amy as an actress. Sometimes The awkwardness was too damn high. I covered my face with my hands. just phenomenal. great acting. I watched the one she's talking about how girls are too understanding when they are not really comfortable with something but try to fake it bc they are too nice or pc, but then there's people who would just flat out rule you out for the smallest things. Been there lol.
