A little boy prepares his Christmas tree as he thinks about his father working in Antarctica where there are no Christmas trees. He wishes he could take his father one, when he tries to catch a taxi to the south pole. Santa Claus lands his sparkling sleigh-like vessel, called the Star Shooter, beside the car and agrees to let the child take it to Antarctica.
A small Muscovite Kolya wants to deliver a Christmas tree to his father-polar explorer at the Soviet polar station Mirny in Antarctica. Father Frost, trying to fulfill the boy's desire, gives him for this journey his magical, star plane. But it's necessary to fly to the station for the time that the New Year's Chimes strike twelve hours. With the twelfth blow, magic dissipates and Kolya, being almost at the target surrounded by penguins, does not have time to carry out his plans.
