It is DC animation so you always have no expectations from them but James Gunn is a genius who wrote this shoe well. I doubted that he could guide this sinking ship to the shore but I was wrong. This is his first work for DC and I am impressed with the way he told stories of all characters. It is full of heart and empathy. He understood the job and executed it very well on the screen. I hope he can build a studio that makes better DC animations and not what we are watching from 80s cartoon shows. I am glued to this series and hope to see it end with a banger. This gives me a lot of hope for the DC's future and for Superman especially. If you know how to write a story well you can create a bunch of misfits into a great show and Creatures Commandos is a good example of it. Especially when we're fed loads of crap by Hollywood seeing such rare gems is what makes us hopeful for a better future.

This show is awesome so far, I almost left a review after two episodes and I'm so glad I didn't because I would have been wrong. I almost said the show isn't going anywhere and lacks a storyline. After watching 6 episodes that is absolutely not true. They do such an amazing job of giving a backstory on each of the Commandos that I find myself wanting to watch more of each individual and get more information. I knew nothing about any of these characters besides Weasel and a few guest characters which makes this a lot more interesting because I'm learning about them as the show goes on. Every character has been entertaining in their own right so far but David Harbour as Frankenstein has definitely stole the show. Looking forward to more.
I honestly have no complaints, other than I wish the episodes were longer.
The fact that this is an adult animated series is fantastic. Content like this gives DC an advantage with older audiences. Especially since Marvel is their competitor, and they're reluctant to engage in it, regarding TV shows and movies, as their soul is owned by the mouse. Family-friendly stuff can get old, and boring. Sometimes I want something that isn't intended for younger audiences.
I love all the characters, and their backstories so far. I thoroughly enjoy that they're not overused characters we've seen a thousand times before. I love the jokes, I love the dialogue. I love the animation, artwork, and character designs. I love the voice actors. The story is intriguing, and I'm always excited and anticipating the next episode. I definitely recommend the series. I love what James Gunn is providing.
I really, really hope that this is renewed for a second season, and continues on after that.

DC is in good hands. Loved it. James gunn knows what is he doing. I loved how he brought importance to lesser known characters. The animation field of DC has always been strong. I want to see what he will do with superman. I am also excited for the Nightwing and Red hood team up animated movie. This show is under rated.
More people should watch this. The designs were so good. The backstories are explored really well.
The cast especially David Harbour did a great job. Doctor phosphorus was so cool. I am really excited to see all of these characters in live action. I hope they appear in Peacemaker season 2🤞🤞

Just 3 episodes in and i am already hooked. They have done a great job with the casting, voice acting, writing, and even music. Not only are they great songs, but they are appropriate and build on the story. Within the few episodes i have seen, characters have already developed depth and personality. As of yet, they are giving less emphasis on the main plot, in order to tell each characters background, this will continue to drive their development as a team and as individuals. Which in my opinion, is a great way to start. While this happens, i don't even notice how little the main plot progresses, The series is full if comedic relief, nut you can also feel yourself getting attached to the characters. They are not perfect or boring. II definitely recommend this show, and am excited to see where it goes.
Thanks for readin. I hope it convinces you to give it a go. I don't think you will be the least bit disappointing.

I know some would say they're tired of the formula of a lovable group of misfits but what sets its apart is definitely the characters. The episodes are structured like mini backstories for each characters as it propels the main plot forward before everything goes haywire and this mini origins have been so good they are charming, passionate, and have a wild sense of psychotic beauty but mostly heartbreaking and tragic, really makes you come to care about each characters and also it's done as such a perfect pace not to fast or to slow if anything it's a little snappy but it never drags also action is placed oh so perfectly in a chaotic mess of monster mayhem and each episode feels unique and shut highly recommended if you love odd ball comic characters and are curious to explore more of dc lore a bit of a tear jerker though is the best way.
I've always loved the DC universe and while I think the DCEU was overhated, I was very disappointed with several of the DCEU projects. This series has fantastic characters and is extremely creative. I think when James Gunn says that superhero movies and tv have become too generic, that's the key right their. Their have been so many superhero movies in the last decade that when people see a new one has come out they don't go to theaters because they think "another superhero movie geez their have been way too many" as their all the same, just a generic action movie (Especially sequals) I think James gunn is really going to turn things around and I cannot wait for it. I also think that because marvel has been much more popular, DC has a lot of great characters who have been overlooked (by fans) and I think if everything in DC works out in it's next couple of years then lesser known characters will be able to do well at the box office as long as they can grasp people's attention and really have a special feel to them. But yeah this was a great start and I only see it getting better from here.

I really liked this at the start. Funny, violent and exciting, with an entertaining collection of misfits.
But as it went forward, I began to have my doubts. The first issue is the basic structure, with each episode alternating between the story arc and the individual tragic backstories of the creatures. There was a sameness to it. It's not that the structure is inherently bad (Lost did a great job with it), it's just that these stories were both predictable and depressing. It's like Suicide Squad except half of them aren't even criminals, just victims stuck in a nightmare.
The series keeps getting darker, both in its horrific body count of innocent bystanders and well-meaning soldiers and in its stories, with the final one being just tragedy upon tragedy.
While Creature Commandos seemed like a lot of fun in the beginning, by the end most of the fun had been drowned in darkness.
I'm so bummed out after watching the final episode of season 1 that I'm hesitant to recommend this, but I guess I did enjoy it overall. Still, it's a disappointment from the generally on-point James Gunn.

This was the best start to a new franchise ever, with an unknown team full of misfits you have no doubt that this would be bad, this was definitely an adventure you would want to see over and over, James Gunn has clearly named himself the king of comic book adaptations, even to a team that was supposed to be for WW2 but this time in a heartbeat I am forever in his debt for another one of his amazing creation and mind, I cannot wait for what has he in store for us, giving us the true justice of DC without a doubt I will be sitting on the first row seat of the films and the seat of my chair at home, James Gunn if you see this, I am there 100%

It's a pretty interesting beginning to the rebooted DC universe (and someone doesn't even know what it is)
James Gunn, known for a number of good film comedies, was responsible for the script of the project, in which he always knew how to find a balance between dramatic and comedic elements. This series is no exception.
The story itself has a filler character, but at the same time the characters presented are perfectly revealed thanks to flashbacks. In fact, every episode starting with 2 concerns a new character, which perfectly dilutes the main storyline.
I was also pleased with the selection of music. What's during the screensaver, what's during the narration. Everything sounds fun and cheerful.

The DCU is off to a great start with theese C Listers. It really is. I Don t care much for the Justice League members but here i am looking forward to more Superman in July now and more Peacemaker too. Thank you James Gunn. Keep it up.
Here s hoping we won t get any contradictions to The Suicide Squad 2021 and Peacemaker season 1. Also keep Matt Reeve s Batman in his own universe.
Soon to come: Superman, The Brave and the Bold ( aka Batman & Robin), Supergirl, Peacemaker season 2.
Please watch Redlettermedia, folks.
Here s my laundry list: noodles, chocolate, coffee, drinking water, novels by Robert Harris.

Honestly not amazing start sadly wasn't impressed though not bad but not good either pretty weak start to the DCU sadly. Still interested in Superman 2025. Hopefully It gets better but the two episodes that are out wasn't great and jokes weren't really funny surprising because I love James Gunn guardians of the Galaxy films and enjoyed Peacemaker and his TSS 2021 was fine but creature commandos I was excited for but sadly was disappointed although it's 2 episodes I hope it gets better. Frank Grillo does an ok job the two only characters I enjoyed was Alan Tudky as Dr phosphorus and Sean Gunn as G. I. Robot the rest haven't impressed me.
A rather impressive start to a show. WOW I just finished the second episode and I am blown away by the way the story developed. The fight scenes are perfectly animated and the setting is close to reality. I honestly can't wait for the next few episodes to be released. The jokes get you gasping for breath and the consistentency in the characters is quite amazing
I am impressed by the start of the DCU and I can't wait for the Superman film. I now fully trust the capabilities of James Gunn as a writer but what else should be expected but peak fiction. Young Justice, Batman beyond, the DCAMU those peak days are finally back.

For real, this is what happens when James Gunn is left entirely to his own devices. And it is magnificent. Ridiculously entertaining, beautiful in all its familiar levels of horrifyingly gory esteem and general narrative credibility. I'd have to say this dissuaded all my concerns about the DCU moving forward. I am utterly impressed with Gunn's creativity and the broader concept he is presenting with this series.
Above all, this show brings back what I loved about The Suicide Squad; the raw chaos and unadulterated talent wrapped in a ball that ignores rules for superhero movies entirely. Subverts every genre, dials nearly every trope up to eleven, whilst keeping others downplayed; so subtle you need to pay attention, or you might miss a brilliant joke. Intelligent yet accessible.
This dude is truly the greatest thing to happen to DC Studios. Ever.

I've watched all of James Gunn's superhero movies and shows, and for better or for worse, Creature Commandos is his weakest. But it's James Gunn...so it's still LEAGUES better (pun intended) than almost any other creator's rough project!
Creature Commandos season 1 is more Suicide Squad, and if that is your cup of tea you are probably going to love it! James Gunn's Suicide Squad movie is my favorite superhero movie of all time, so this show is right up my alley. That said, with only about 25 minutes per episode, and only 7 episodes altogether, it feels like the story is a bit threadbare and could use some space to breathe. I feel like Creature Commandos would have been an easy 9 out of 10 for me if each episode had been an hour with more time to develop the characters.
The Bride, Nina, Weasel, and GI Robot are definitely the stand out characters here! And the four of them have more memorable moments and cooler story beats than the other Commandos. Eric Frankenstein feels like an unnecessary addition and doesn't really do anything for me being in the show.
Overall solid solid first season!! Season finale is definitely the best episode and very emotional! Great reveal at the end and good set up for future stories. Hopefully the second season gets more episodes.

I've been a massive fan of the DC Superheroes since I was a kid and I prefer them over the Marvel Superheroes. Like many people, I was annoyed by the idiotic decisions made by Warner Bros. With the DCEU and it lead to the universe being rebooted by James Gunn. While I was crushed by the reboot, I was excited to see what James Gunn was going to do with the DCU because of his work with the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, The Suicide Squad (2021), Peacemaker (2022-) and now Creature Commandos (2024-) cause this show was phenomenal.
Positives for Creature Commandos (2024-): Similar to his previous work, James Gunn is a master of taking a set of D-list comic book characters the general audience knows nothing about and getting them to care about these characters. The show has an outstanding voice cast including Indira Varma, Sean Gunn, Alan Tudyk, Zoe Chao, David Harbour, Frank Grillo and Viola Davis. While the show is only 7 episodes long, I was able to care about these characters. There are moments when the episodes take the time to develop a character and get me attached to them more on an emotional level. There are some cool twists and turns taken in the show that definitely caught me off guard. It also has to be said that James Gunn's dialogue is on fire as it always has been with every project he's worked on. There are some great action sequences with some gore that made me so happy. And finally, this show achieved its goal of getting me excited for the future of James Gunn's DCU.
Overall, Creature Commandos (2024-) is an awesome start to the DCU and I can't wait to see everything James Gunn has planned for this cinematic universe.

Following similar story beats to The Suicide Squad, we join up with a ragtag team of imprisoned monsters sent on assignment.
Positives: *Character focused.
*No need to do any homework and watch 50 hours of movies to know what's going on. We're beginning a new DC Studios universe.
*Action has decent choreography and is easy to follow.
*Animation style is fresh, and works really well for the story being told.
Mixed: -Gunn's humor often feels forced with dated references and quippy dialogue asides.
-Not my favorite needle drops considering his talent to find the right feel.
Last things: -I wasn't expecting a new formula for the superhero genre to emerge, but I've seen this type of show many times before.
-If you're here for a little fun without any real stakes yet, then you'll enjoy.
-In the era of the Spider-verse films, Arcane, Blue-eyed Samurai, and X-Men 97', I need more emotional investment and when episode 2 ended, I didn't care the rest weren't yet available.
Overall: 6/10 (with potential to rise or fall) Bingeable? Not yet.

I mean in the first episode Im like okay that's alright but in the second episode I really felt that show I didn't expect that kind of a story it's really underrated. The third episode not that thing but the forth one was really good especially that end , and I think the rest of the show will be amazing. And from the trailers I think the next characters will have a great flash back and great roles in the next episodes and I tell you that robot will come back and we will see unexpected characters will reveal it's not that awesome show but it will get it. I gave it 8 stars because I really think it will be some good stuff in the future. GOOD LUCK DC💫
Creature Commandos kicks off the DCU with a fun but familiar adventure in animation. It is a very adult series, with graphic violence and adult situations abound. The animation looks great while the voice cast shines with no one feeling out of place (even with the over the top accents).
The only issues we found came from the very short run (seven, 22-26 minute episodes) that left us really wanting it to be longer. There will also be some that may not be able to get past the fact that it's basically Suicide Squad 2.0, but the monsters add an interesting twist to the formula and the tragic backstories to these characters helps carry the emotional weight.
Overall, Creature Commandos is a fun first entry into the new DCU and although it does follow the Suicide Squad formula pretty closely, it does just enough to set itself apart. We look forward to more in season 2.

The artwork and character design is beautiful. However something about this show just doesn't seem memorable to me. For me it comes down to pacing issues with it. I don't mind the wanton violence or the sex. That doesn't bother me. I just feel this show could have been a bit better. I'm a huge fan of James Gun. I'll still finish the show and I'll definitely be seeing Superman when it hits this Summer. I'm just not impressed with this show.
I will say the voice acting on this show is beautiful and top notch. Alan Tudyk is fantastic. Frank Grillo Jr is fantastic. Everyone doing the roles on this show are fantastic.
5/10 stars.

After all these waiting (despite all debunking and confirming about it),The entire new DCU kicks off its beginning of The "Gods And Monsters" chapter with their first Series "Creature Commandos",and by the first chapter's title's means,it literally has one! The Creature Commandos, the first DCU Series has all kinds of that such as pick up the past and glimpsing the future,i personally likes Both Zack Snyder and James Gunn Best, for them Who bring the DC cinematic experience into the modern age, except Zack was in Netflix while preparing to Return to WB with a 300 project, and James was now in charge with Peter Safran,a longtime DC involver and A producer of his,James was Best known for bringing the spotlight to the Marvel Universe's obscure superhero Team "Guradians of the Galaxy" into the Spotlight, now he's been in charge of DC Studios, the first things he does is doing the same with Creature Commandos, with a new start, consider by most as what i Believe...a wacky mash-up of Superheroes world,Gods and Deities and monstrous troops,i saw the first few episodes of that, consider this insane kickstart the entire DCU with some of clever recaps and some cameos of Obscure and Popular DCU Characters appears, although the whole plot was great,i do personally loves the fhorrifying plot about the Origins of the character, and the fluent and clean,high-botique animation, despite James make clears that "everybody knews Superman's origins by now,so why do we even need to repeat it?",he definitely give out the Spotlight of the original to these character like he did in MCU,while the series can also be a satire to Current situation and really insane events of the world and mix them with DCU locations and events like Metropolis and Themyscira, consider all that,The Villain,Circe, blew up the party and somehow uncovered the whole plot in later episodes, the musics is pretty Nostalgic, the series also contains a several tribute to DC Comics classics,Hammer and Universal monster Films,animes,Franco-Belge "Bande Dessinee" and their "Ligne Claire",Spanish culture,European Movies,Action Films of these days,it's all pretty Monstrous start to the DCU,but the best is yet come.....for now,the DCU and ita futures and Elseworlds (while we got The Batman and the Joker in it,but is Snyderverse and Ayer cut,Reeves and Keaton are inside?) Are just getting started with Superman in 2025,look forward for more episodes and More DCU.
P. S. To James Gunn,Alfred E. Neuman Wants to ask "What--Me have something about DCU?"

What an entrance for the new regime at D. C. Studios. This first installment & introduction to the new D. C. Universe is promising & a welcome sight. The story makes care about the characters & the animation is top notch. Speaking on the animation the new "Tomorrow-verse" animation looked very cheap & flat, no life in the animation style or stories. The D. C. AU of great stories like : "Under the Red Hood", "Justice League:Dark" & "Superman:Doomsday" set the standard for quality comic book animation. I collected all the animated movies of that time & i had no interest in the Tomorrow-verse, due to lazy writing & lazy animated art. But, Creature Commandos is a return to form for quality animation. I already care about the characters & the story is interesting. The art style is fun & vivid & well drawn. James Gunn is starting this universe right & making his upcoming projects highly anticipated. The new Superman movie is definitely on my must watch list. Back the show it's only 2 episodes but the anticipation & connection to the characters is there.
