  • Since there are no worthy films about Charlemagne out there this is the only way to have a decent accurate story about Charlemagne even in a more like a doc film rather than an actual one......(the 1993 live action tv series were boring and historically inaccurate).

at least we get to see a lot of scenes with actors and we get a lot of battles too. an interesting effort which reminds me the other rome series called the rise and fall of an empire 2008.....(not to be confused with the 2006 same title series)

what we need is an actual big budget film or tv series about the last great western roman emperor as Charlemagne who was crowned roman emperor by the pope of rome was the successor of the deposed eastern emperor Constantine VI (deposed in 797 ad) and he was the last western emperor who tried to unite the east and the west by proposing marriage to irene the mother of the deposed emperor and he would have succeeded if eastern officials have not turned against this proposal and deposed irene too.

Charlemagne in 812 ad was recognized as an official emperor also by the eastern emperor Michael I ragaves. those facts I stated are not in this film....(the Byzantium references) we only get to see how he was crowned emperor by the pope. let's hope we get a real film depicting all actual events about the last great man who tried to restore the glory of the ancient roman empire. with Charlemagne's death the dream of a united roman empire died with him.
